"Finally, something to scratch the Diablo itch"
I know I am coming late to the party, but since Diablo 2, I've been wandering lost in the monster empty wilderness. Stronghold is great, Dungeon Keeper II was way too short, everthing else is a pale shadow. Then my husband put this game in my hands. I AM ADDICTED. I NEED A 12 STEP. If you're trying to lose weight, I suggest you start playing this game, because you won't eat, or sleep, or clean your house or go to work or function as an adult. This game is LONG. It eats your soul. I crave more. more .. more.....

"Pretty good game"
In this game you get to choose which character you want to be (fighter, magician, etc) and then start out on a main quest, which will be interwoven with various side-quests. The graphics in this game are well-designed and modern. It reminded me of Lord of the Rings in a lot of ways -- there are orcs, dragons, wizards and the like. The visual detail in this game is pretty amazing.

This is one huge game. It has a big main map through which you explore, but the big map is actually divided into realms, and then there are also additional multi-level side-quests(catacombs, caves, etc). So, be prepared to spend some time on this game.

There is A LOT of enemy-hacking, as you plow your way through the forests and catacombs, so be prepared. The enemies make funny sounds each time they're hit or are killed, and it really gets to you after you've hacked, like, a thousand of them. Sometimes you get encircled by a bunch of skeletons and you have to swing your weapon 360 degrees, and keep swinging until they are all hacked. Sometimes the game involves a lot of running as you try to get from one place to another by foot, and that can get boring.

The game gets difficult in some moments in terms of the difficulty of enemies you fight. Sometimes you'll get enemies that will level you straight off the bat, and you have to come back to them only after you've improved your strength a bit.

One thing with this game is that it's so huge and detailed, you really have to keep playing to remember where you are or what you're doing. If you don't play for a while, its especially hard to remember your inventory and your place in the game. You have many inventory choices to make as you go along, like which weapons and armor you need, so in your head there's always a cost-benefit analysis working.

In this game the character really builds up on his or her strenths and inventory along the way. You literally start out ridiculously half-naked with no armor or weapons whatsoever, but gradually and painfully you work your way up to sophisticated armor and weapons. There's a downside to that -- if you make a mistake somewhere along the way, and it reveals itself later, it can be very frustrating to have to go back to an earlier point in the game, considering how many monsters you've hacked since then, how much inventory and weapons you've collected and how much stronger you've become.

Overall I was very happy with this game. It's so huge and detailed you won't get bored or finish the game soon. I think it's a good game for detail-oriented thorough type people (like myself :) who like to painstakingly improve their character a little at a time through hard work, collect money and weapons and solve quests. And then, looking back, you can say -- I started with nothing, but now I have this really awesome weapon, cool armor and I can deal with anyone or anything. All that hard work pays off!

"Maximum Frustrations - Great Game"
First, Let me begin by laying out my system. I am currently running at 3.20 GHZ w/ 1024 Mbs of ram. I have a GeForce FX 5500
DDR PCI ( no AGP slot) graphics card. I have had to start the game over due to glitches on several occasions. On one occasion,
I got stuck up by Dwarven halls. I literaly couldn,t move from
where I was at. On another occasion, I ran into problems Versitis. It was already fully visible when I entered and the game would eventually lock-up. I am looking to see if I can find
a newer version, preferably the DVD version. I have ver. 1.007
and it does not run well. My nephew had a file started and ran into problems in the council hall, ( no balls to place, and all
but two were closed as if you had already rounded up those members). Over all the game is a very good game with some really
detailed graphics, ( notice the reflections in the pools ). If
you can find a later version you will not be disappointed.

"Great RPG with a lousy ending"
I loved this RPG. It has an amazing amount of gameplay, with a great storyline, and a reasonably good interface. Because it was so addictive, I probably played it way too much. However, the ending is a complete let down. I won't give away the ending, but nothing is explained, the animation is extremely short, and it's very obvious that Larian studios was just trying to hook people for a sequel. Disappointing to say the least.

"Superb!"
I got this game years ago and I kinda skipped it due to newer games. I recently installed it and gave it a try. To my surprise I was totally amazed by this lil unknown game. If you love the diablo series then you'll love this game. Its just as addicting and just as long as Diablo 2. Although the interface is a lil diff, its easy to get used to. The music is prob the best part of this game, the soundtrack in my opinion is a masterpiece. I deff recommend this title for anyone whos into hack and slash games. I just wish I tried this game years ago, I really missed out on such a solid game.

What our customer's say!

"Best Old Game You Never Heard Of", I bought this game back in 2003 from Amazon to try to replace my addiction for Diablo II (which I had played for over a year and was growing tired of). I put the game away and never played it. Just recently I stumbled accross it and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it is and how addictive it is. Beautiful 2D graphics (much better than DII) that really show an attention to detail by someone, fun gameplay, a bit of brains and humor in the story and a great musical score. All in all, it's like Diablo crossed with Morrowind. And I love it. It's hard to believe it didn't get more attention considering how great it is. If you don't mind the dated graphics do yourself a favor and buy this game. It's a great single player RPG.

"Divine Divinity tops Diablo for hack 'n slash fun", I found this game by accident at Target recently for only $10. Thinking this game sucked, I went home and checked out online. It looked interesting, so I took a chance and picked it up. It has now become an obsession and I play it constantly. This game is old, no doubt about it, but I believe this is one of THE best action/RPG games I have played, and I have played them all. Diablo, Baldur's gate (console version) Sacred, Titan Quest, and many others you probably never heard of can't touch this one. I love this game and can't think of anything bad to say about it. Sure, there are a few problems like some minor bugs, but they mostly have been fixed with a patch, and they definitely do not detract from the overall experience. For $10, BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!

"Still in a class by itself.", If you took the over-all action and skill advancement of Diablo...
added Ultima's stilted view, inventory management, and ability to combine ingredients...
and further added Morrowind's expansive, interactive world with the ability to move, or pick up just about anything in sight...
you would have Divine Divinity.

After playing DivDiv, other RPGs seem very static, and confining in terms of player character freedom, and interactions with the game world. Even today, I've yet to see anything come close.

This is a timeless classic, and should be at the top of any RPG fan's list.

"Fantastic 2D graphics", This game has unbelievably gorgeous 2D graphics. The attention to detail is awesome. Special effects sparkle and glitter everywhere. The soundtrack also is magnificent. But other than the graphics and the soundtrack, much of this game is CRPG by numbers, something like a beautified and simplified version of the Baldur's Gate series. Multiplayer game fans may be disappointed that Divine Divinity is for solo play only. Lastly, I have to warn you that playing this addictive game from start to the finish is an accomplishment that may take up to 100 hours of your good time.

"A Fun and Entertaining*Hack-n-Slasher*.", Although there really isn't anything new here that we've all seen and done before, I'll tell you what is here...fun. This game became almost instantly addicting.. and as for me-( and I am sure for others who have played these types about a million times over)that's a hard element to find in today's latest and (greatest??) hack-n slashers. Yes this game is quite a few years old,(Is there REALLY an *EXPIRATION DATE* on FUN?? This title does not fail to entertain and it does have a few unique additions to it that makes it stand out amongst the vast sea of this genre. In my opinion, alot better than 'Dungeon Siege 1'( which till this day i have not finished due to the fact that it's (STORYLINE+EXTREME BORDEM) induces sleeping and ocassional nodding-off), this one i stayed awake for for the sheer fact that there is a story in here-not deep, but yet, it's in there. 5STARS OVER-ALL. Recommended.-holyknight7- F.Y.I-If you purchase this game, make sure you email the(seller) you've picked to purchase from and ask if it's the (North American Version), as there is an import version that will not install correctly on most machines. You'll know if your copy is an import if your disks are (RED AND BLACK). If they are (Orange), it's the (NORTH AMERICAN) version. Thought I'd pass that little tid-bit along. The import has a real problem installing (especially on systems with AMD CPU's)and most (Intel's) with updated drivers. I know, i own both copies of the game and take a (wild guess) which one i purchased first. ENJOY 'ADVENTURER'.-------'TITAN QUEST-IMMORTAL THRONE'....'TITAN QUEST-IMMORTAL THRONE'....'TITAN QUEST-IMMORTAL THRONE'........

"Addictive", This is a great game, yet it is so addictive and takes a long time to finish. I still like it though.

"Excellent Role Playing Game", Divine Divinity is a fun game. You start and soon your character is knee deep in quests. Have you ever washed dishes to
do a quest? It's a large game with a huge number of quests.
Larian supports the game on it's web forum. There are a lot
of walkthroughs because it's a huge game.
The graphics are beautiful, music has won an award, and the AI is
a slight challenge.
But whether you like easy or hard games, this one will work for you. Notice to Christians---has pentagrams otherwise clean.

"Great game with nVidia cards(not with Radeons)", Divine Divinity is as sweet as Christmas candy as far as performance goes with my old Win98 system(nVidia Geforce III) but on my brand new computer XPPro 3200+ Athlon sixty bloody four for goodness sakes(ATI Radeon 9800 XT) Its slower than MAKING Christmas candy(Divinity) in an underpowered mixer! This is not the fault of CDV nor Larail Studios but ATi's loused drivers(as usual) it seems users of ATI's card sit out the good times once again. D3D doesn't work in the test so I wouldn't count on keeping your drivers from being corrupt in the game! Direct Draw seems to work but it is blurry and will make your eyes hurt because of the lack of consistant drawing when the screen scrolls horizontally.
The game it's self is a lot like Diablo II(not like D1 which was boring) but has a bit of sub-plotting even in dungeons. Thier is always something going on that's intersting like in Ultima series. Thier are only three character types, fighter, Wizard, and Survivor(thief), but it is what you do with them that counts. The skill trees eliminate the need for "elite" classes like Undead Hunter, Paladin, Ranger, or that kind of nonsense that's required in D&D or other RPGs. Unlike Ultima(or Baldur's Gate for you D&D people), however, thier is no comradary between compainions like Iolo, Shamino, Dupre, just a henchman or two to keep you from dying all the time.(no dialogue between NPCS in party) Any palling around is you and a little white cat.
As far as NPCs V/O talant it isn't bad considering this is not a graphic adventure(it's actually acted better than most graphic adventure games these days), This a hack'n slash RPG with a very good story and sub-plots to give you insentive to well, hack'n slash and do a lot more. I've heard that Beyond Divinity is worse but that's another story and CGW Mag is not to be trusted anyway when selecting a game.

"Pretty good. Definitely worth the money.", I've played Diablo II for many, many (way too many!) hours, and if you liked Diablo II, you'll like this game. There's a little bit more of a story there, and there are some unique items that make the game special. The only major complaint is the accuracy of pointing on items with the mouse - I think others have mentioned it before. But if you keep a finger near the "Ctrl" key for attacking your nearest foe automatically, that helps alleviate most of the risk associated with the difficulty of some of this. Also, this game isn't as hardware-intensive as some of the newer games, so you don't need the latest-and-greatest cards and chips to play it. And at the current price, this game is definitely worth the money. Since the part of my life with Diablo II, I've bought and tried Baldur's Gate II, Neverwinter Nights with all the expansions, Gothic II, Dungeon Seige and the Legends of Aranna, Morrowind and Icewind Dale II. Of all of these, I've only completed the original Dungeon Seige, put aside all the others, but I'm going to spend some time with "Divine Divinity". Good luck with it.

"?", divine divinity well if that isn't just the dumbest title to game ever, wow soooooooo stupid
