Yes, as the previous reviewer stated. "The endless possibilities of this game are ...... um.....endless"

"The best Sim out there!!"
The endless possibilities of this game are endless.
Although the offline play can be a bit boring, as the AI cars are very hard to race against (meaning that they are not the most realistic drivers) The game realy takes off when it come to online racing. The Servers that support this game (Xtremespeeday being the best that there is!) offer the best racing around. There are endless additional mods that can be found with a quick search of the net not to mention OVER 200 extra tracks!! that can be played online. You can also join 'families' (Xtremespdwy.com being the most welcoming) where you can get help from other drivers and the bosses that run the different servers. they also offer talking software called ventrillo that can be used so that you can talk to the drivers around you at the same time!!!
This game is a MUST. If you like arcade games, then this is not for you! If you like racing Simmulations that even the Real drivers use to practice on, then this is the ONLY game to buy!!
Hope to see you on the Track (in my mirrors of course!!)

"Papy makes the Best Racing Sims"
I've had this game ever since it came out and it's still at the top of my gaming pile.

the community is keeping this game alive, upto date car paint schemes and the mods are great. Project Wildfire has released many mods that are just amazing for this game (Truck series, Busch Series, IROC and a trans am mod for all you road racers, plus over a dozen new tracks from PWF and tons of tracks from many other mod teams)

get a wheel pedal combo, a good vid card and get into community and you'll find this game is still going very strong even after papy has moved away from the PC sims.

if your a PC sim fan, Papys games are the only games you want, EA's Nascar games are for arcade fans with Xbox's.

i can get from 50-80fps with:
- Athlon XP 2800+
- 512 ddr-ram (PC-3200)
- ATI Radeon 9700pro (128mb) videocard

------------------
find PWF @ http://www.projectwildfire.com they have moved on but all the info you need you can get from the very active forum.

"Flat Out Awesome!"
I've been playing the Papy racing sims for years and have consistently be awestruck at the accuracy of the controls and the "feel" of the cars. Lets face it, anything else is 3rd rate compared to this racing sim.

What I find amazing is the amount of support online for this product. You can race all of the usual "Cup" tracks or download awesome tracks like Mosport and Le Mans. Anyone with the slightest amount of computer savy will be able to add outrageously modified high-speed tracks with close to 300 MPH top speeds and classic road courses like Riverside. BUY THIS PRODUCT or be disappointed.

"Sim racing doesn't get any more realistic"
EA Sports doesn't have anything in their invetory that can conpare with this game. Papyrus is way ahead of everyone else when it comes to Racing simulations. Yes...I'm calling it a simulator instead of a game because that's what it is. Dale Earnheardt Jr. has been know to use the game to prepare himself for the next race. Yes folks, it's that realistic. It's a real shame that this was the last edition of this game. Ea sports bought out the license from NSACAR.

"sad to see it end...", i started playing the nascar game way back in 1993-94 (guessing) and each year the "wow" factor seemed to double if not more. but all things must reach a peak and it looks like this is both the last and best of the series, with a few plus and minus factors. but i was just wondering about a few things i noticed while playing:

one thing that has always bothered me is why i always get 1/2 of a car - the view is either outside the vehicle or only the drivers side interior. why can't they make a version with a full drivers view....?

and, why am i always the only one to crash - always. out of 43 starting vehicles, zero of them ever wreck. it's always me and even when i get bumped, the other car is completely unaffected. i've even rammed #20 car at full speed and *nothing* happened. it just swayed back and forth for a few seconds then took off.

and, why is my car the only one that can't stay on the track. i would have to reduce the maximum speed to 20mph for my car to make the corners without fishtailing (extremely tight or loose) on all but one or two tracks. no settings - slow, fast, jasper - make any difference.

i think you get the drift. i could go on for hours but why bother. if you are looking for a well balanced realistic nascar experience, keep looking. if you can enjoy a driving simulation that has you crashing every other lap, you found it.

"OK but", Stop paying 100 bucks for this thing and go find a torrent. These prices are rip offs.

"NASCAR Season 3", They just don't make them better. Step on the excellerater and listen to the roar of the engine. Chills run down your back. A person's fantasy is when you step on the gas, this car will take you where you want to go. You are given a great car or you can choose one. Either way your car is good enough to win all races. As soon as you get use to the tracks, set the AL at 90%or more and off you go to the greatest competion you have ever had in a fantasy game. Graphics are great except father down the track or long distance racing. Crashes occur often expecially in short tracks like Bristal. I have won all the races except Bristal. Even if you don't crash, there are other crashes throughout the race. It is pure luck if you win this race. The cons do not outweigh the pros. Greatest game on the market.

"Nascar Racing 2003 Season Review", The best sim-racing game made to date. Anything else is just plain junk.

"Still Going Strong in 2006!! Best Nascar Sim to Date!", I've had the game since it first came out and I must say I'm very happy with Papyrus's final Nascar simulation. The game itself has a believable physics model, Great graphics when it first arrived (still not too bad in 2006), OK damage modelling (could have done better) and fantastic multiplayer and modding capabilities. The only problem I have with the singleplayer game is the AI difficulty. I'm extremely good on just about every track in the game, but the auto-difficulty measuring tool is a bit off, saying on tracks where there was no possible way of going faster or reaching better lap times a value in the mid 90 percent where as on other tracks I'm topping the scale at or near 110%. Right now the game is of high value, since its the last "true" simulation that has emerged, and prices are usually around $100USD. You will also need a wheel for this game, because the keyboard just wont cut it unless you only want to play the game on arcade settings. If your not into Nascar, check out GTR or GT Legends (and soon GTR2) - newer games with even better physics and graphics than Nascar 2003, but focusing on the Road Courses instead of the ovals (even though in GTR there are oval track downloads). "Best Racin' Game Ever!", 1st off let me say this is 100% better then any Ea Nascar game. But I have seen on here where people are talking about mods and trucks. What are you all talking about all I have seen on the game is Nascar Winston Cup Racing. No trucks, Busch series or nothing. If you are on here checking out what Nascar game to buy let me say look no more you have found the best one.

"Best NASCAR Simulation", NASCAR Racing 2003 Season is the most realistic NASCAR simulation to date. Despite being fairly graphic-intense, it can be adjusted so that any computer can run the sim. Even though we're currently one and a hlaf years after the initial release of this version, it still leads the way in realism. The physics of the cars are amazing, and beyond any other game out there.

"WAYYYYYY better than 1 crappy star", You want stock car racing as real as a simulation game can get, then this game is the ticket. As with all games, make sure you system requirements are far beyond the minimum or that is what you will get...the minimum experience. If the requirements say the minimum is a 32m graphics card, then get 128m card. No reason to give this one star because your system components are barely making it. Also make sure you get a wheel, or don't even bother buying this game, as the racing experience will be arcadish with a keyboard. I have a AMD 1800+, 512m of RAM, and a 128m MSI GeForce Ti 4800, and this game simply rocks. With all the mods, car and truck paint schemes, setups, etc...this game will last for some time. Then join an online league and compete from the safety of your own home. Even Dale E. plays this game to practice without the hassle of real wear and tear on a real car. If a real NASCAR driver uses this as a tool for racing, that says alot about this game.

"excellent", Ths game rocks. It is so realistic you actually think your in the car. It can be a little confusing, but is the best racing game ever.

"Better have a top of the line computer for this one!", Back when Papyrus' Nascar Racing 2 first came out, I bought it and was so impressed that I spent several hours a day playing it. At the time, it was the most realistic racing sim available, and was top of the line as far as graphics and special effects were concerned. I lost interest in racing sims for awhile but recently got back into them after buying Nascar Heat. I wanted just a bit more "realness" than Heat provides, so remembering how happy I was with NR2, and hoping that Papyrus wouldn't disappoint me, I bought NR2003. HUGE mistake. One would assume that the "recommended" system requirements listed on the box would be more than sufficient to run the game at it's highest graphics levels, but this one doesn't even come close. The "recommended" requirements are a PIII 800Mhz, 128Megs Ram, and 32Meg 3D graphics card. I am running an Athlon XP2000 1.8Ghz with 512Megs of system Ram, and a 32Meg 3D graphics card. On my system, which more than meet the "recommended" system requirements, I have to run the game at 640X480 with all extraneous graphics like smoke and weather effects turned off in order to even reach a barely acceptable framerate of 29fps. The game is hyped as more being the most realistic with effects such as solar glare and windshield debris, but what good is it if these effects have to be turned off in order to make the game work? With these effects turned on, the counter drops to 21fps, and if I want even the slightest sense of realism and turn on options that make the tracks recognizable such as trackside objects and grandstands, the counter drops to a totally unplayable count of 13 frames per second. I got so frustrated that I eventually uninstalled the game. I don't think it's right that I have to go shell out $100 bucks for a top of the line video card just to play a game that was supposed to work on my system as is. For now, I'll just give up the extra sense of realism and stick with a game that is playable on my system.
