"Sandisk 6 in1 has it's limits", I have tried it with a 512 Sandisk SD memory card. 1st on a win98SE laptop platform, & subsequently on a WinXP desktop w/ USB 2.0

In both cases the process starts OK & then stall @ about 15 Second left when copying to the HD on the pc with files over 1MB.
The PC then locks up.

In win98, a newer driver must be downloaded from Sandisk's website.
In Win Xp no driver required.
Each port shows up as a different drive letter to allow copying from one type card to another.
When the disc copy option is selected only options for other media in this device are listed, along with floppie ( Not HD's ).

"DONOT WASTE MONEY ON IT", looks and Feel great, read 32M CF card and SD card is ok, but not read the 256M CF card. Try to get another brand now :(

"Works fine with XP Home on Pentium 2.4", I plugged it into a free usb 2.0 port and 3 mins later it was ready to use. I have only tried it with a smartmedia card and it works well. I tried it with WIN 2000 SP 2 and no go, it really does have to be SP 3 or better to work with WIN 2000.

I took 68 pics with my fuji 4800 today at 4MP resolution (interpolated), took out the smartmedia card and put it in the sandisk 6 in 1 for transfer... believe me it is very fast compared to making the transfer from my camera (at USB 1.1) Pics showed up almost instantly in Windows Explorer, seconds later I was slideshowing in Picasa!!. So far no complaints..it's fast and very mobile. It does what I want it to do.

"I hope the store will take this one back ...", I've had a [$$$]SD reader for some time but it's a USB 1.1 and even waiting for the folders to open was too long for me.

I shopped (too quickly) for a 6 in 1 (now 8 in 1's out there) and picked up this SanDisk USB 2.0 reader. After taking a lot of pictures I couldn't wait to plug it in and ...wooosshhh... them onto my hard drive.

No go ... I plugged it in and XP did its bit to auto-install the drivers and then told me that the drive was unavailable "J:\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, ...". After some digging around I realized that Norton AV auto-protect disables the drive because it considers the SD card to be a boot drive - DISABLING NAV allows this card to work just fine thus far.

So, it it NAV fault or SanDisk? - no idea but until I find out that all readers do this then I'll be trying to return this one. Now I'm off to remove drives H,I,J,K,L,M from my computer.

If you don't have NAV auto-enabled then this card reader may be just the one for you.

"Quite good - just a bit delicate", Very capable and suits all my needs - I had to replace it as my first failed as a result of bent internal conductors. But, I did replace it with another like - so I must like it.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"If only it worked...", I bought this after reading a few reviews and decided to take a chance. This product was a definite waste of my time. The look and quality of this reader is substantial for the price. The only problem I had was that it only worked occasionally. I have a 256mb lexar 12x compact flash for my digital camera and it seemed to work w/out any problems on my Windows XP. I have a 128mb Sandisk memory stickwhich I use for my clie nx70v and my system froze each time. I used a lexar memory stick and it worked half the time w/out crashing. I emailed Sandisk support and they were very responsive, but unfortunately had no helpful conclusions. I finally had to return this reader and purchased a Dazzle 6 in 1 reader and every card I had worked fine w/out any problems-even though it isn't a usb 2.0 reader.

"almost perfect....", Was a little worried with some of the reviews I ready, but seemed to work well with all my memory cards (sandisk, viking compact flash, lexar memory stick) until I tried it with a new simpletech CF card I got. Bummer. I love the simpletech card cause it reads a lot faster than my sandisk, but now I have to use the digicam to transfer pictures from the simpletech CF to the computer.

"Works great for SD and SmartMedia cards", I purchased the Sandisk 6-in-1 for use with both SmartMedia and SD cards. No prob with set-up and fast USB 2.0 speed. Like flexibility of support for Memory Stick as I looking at getting a new Sony Digital Camera. Good product and great price!

"Buyer Beware", I own 6 flash cards of varying types and sizes (3 Compact Flash, 1 SD and 2 Sony memory sticks). 2 of them (1 CF card and 1 memory stick) won't work on this unit, and one (a CF card) causes the whole thing to freeze up and malfuntion.

This device is very buggy and although Sandisk knows about the problems, they will not offer refunds or any type of useful support. They have 2 responses: (1)"You can try to return it to the retailer you bought it from" or (2)"We are trying to determine the cause of the problems and develop a firmware fix, but we don't know when that will be available".

I have spent too many aggravating hours on the phone with a customer service manager. Finally I got fed up and called Amazon.com to let them know that Sandisk is trying to leave retailers holding the bag with their defective products, since they are encouraging customers to ask their retailers for refunds.

Amazon was great, and agreed to accept the product for refund even though I had to maul the packaging to get the unit out when I first received it. They even gave me pre-paid shipping, since the unit is defective.

I would have saved myself a lot of hassle by simply buying a different product in the first place.
