"But What Are you going to do????", Yes - most everything (can) happen that people have said. But what I do, is throw away any tape that causes me problems - granted I very seldom need to rewind "movie" tapes (I belong to Netflix). But all I can say is - it CLEANS the tapes - how well? Well - Your guess is as good as mine - but my VCR machines are so worn out that keeping them clean is top priority...

So in closing - I've already ordered another - sure I would rather buy something else - but CLEANING is cleaning.... Sometimes in life you gotta learn to live with a problem (you know what I mean jellybean?). So for now (knock on wood) everything seems to be OK, by tossing the tapes that cause the problem... The worst of it all is when the tape comes out of the "VCR tape" because it rewinds so fast (or strong)... I don't throw those tapes away - I just hope it doesn't happen again and mix the tape back in with all the others (and wait and see)...

"Kinyo VHS Tape Rewinder", There are a lot of rewinders out there. I have tried several of them. So far the Kinyo rewinder has preformed the best. Very fast with slowing when getting close to the end when either ff or rewinding. Also very quite when winding tape, also cleans while rewinding. It also includes 2 extra spools for cleaning for when the first one wears out.

"A good Choice", When I first received this product, I waasn't sure how it worked and so I was ready to send it back. The directions were worthless. But I continued to use it and now I am glad that I bought it. I use it every time I need to rewind a tape.

"Be careful !", STRONG rewind on this product. Sometimes (more often then not) it rewinds to far and you have to rewind the overwind. Bought two at the same time, If I had to do it over again I would have bought another kind.

"Kinyo VHS Cassette Rewinder and Cleaner", I have several containers of VHS tapes that I like to look at occasionally, but do not like having to rewind them in my VCR/DVD player, so I decided to check Amazon.com to see if a VHS tape rewinder was available. There were several available. I selected the Kinyo UV-230C 2-Way VHS Cassette Rewinder and Cleaner for purchase, I received it and have used the product several times. I am very satisfied with this product.

"Utter Junk", This device did not work from the first day I tried to use it. Worse it damaged an irreplaceable tape. I would not recommend this. I was going to return to Amazon, but decided to throw it away instead. Please do not buy this product. It really does not work and it may damage your, currently, irreplaceable tapes.

"A Good Way to Keep our Video Player in Good Condition", I recently bought a video rewinder which works very well. It takes the load off my video player, and it even cleans the videos as they are being rewound. It helps the player to last much longer. At present, this is the third video player I have had to buy in the past 4 years. I also have a video cleaner to keep my heads cleaned and working properly. I am very pleased with my "rewinder-cleaner," and I certainly recommend it to anyone who would like to keep their machines a little longer.

"Working very well", I had the same brand video rewinder for years and it worked fine until
I left it on all night once, but I was so impressed when that happened that it still
worked after that except that it wouldn't pop up anymore when done. But the one
I bought recently has twice made the tape come loose after rewinding. And
a couple of times I couldn't get it to start unless I pushed down hard on the
lid. Other than those 2 things it's working ok.
June 17, 2008 update---My rewinder is working very well now that it has
"settled in" so I am very happy with it now.

"most are broken", I purchased 4 and out of the 4,I had to return 3 because they didn't work. I received 3 replacements and had to return 2. They aren't very well made and you can tell even when they do work. When you close the tape part to make it rewind, it will become loose very easily, so you have to hold your hand on the machine for it to start. I wouldn't suggest buying one.

"Rewinder deluxe", I was very pleasantly surprised with this product. There aren't many rewinders for VHS on the market anymore, and most of what is out there is junk. We purchased 6 different rewinders locally and returned them all as they would only work one or two times then quit. This one cleans the tapes, goes forward, goes backwards and keeps doing it!
