"IOGear MiniView PS/2 KVM Switch" The unit was easy to install but several keyboards wouldn't sync with the unit. With certain programs, one of the computers keyboards would not work properly. Tried several PS/2 keyboards and had problems with them all. System was running Windows XP Pro on both computers. exchanged unit for a Trendnet uSB KVM switch from Amazon and all the problems went away.
"Worked perfectly where more expensive KVMs didn't" I recently got a new machine with a PCI-E slot and NVIDIA card. My old KVM wasn't able to recognize it.
I tried four switches before keeping this one. One was less expensive, one about the same, and the other two were about $20.00 more. All of them had trouble with my mouse, an older MS Optical mouse that uses a USB to PS/2 adapter. I'd never run into that problem before, but judging from reviews of various switches, it seems to be common.
This switch, aside from taking up less room, works perfectly for me. They keyboard combo to switch between machines has, so far, worked without a hitch. (I do like to have a button on the switch itself, in case, for some reason, it loses keyboard connectivity, which has happened to me with other switches. The lack of such a button is the only reason I'm giving this 4 stars rather than 5.)
It works perfectly with two FreeBSD machines, whether I'm running the O/S or trying out various live CDs.
On a crowded desk, the small size is a definite plus. I'm glad I tried this before giving up and buying a really high end switch.
"Solid" Built very well and works perfectly right out of the box. I utilize two Windows PCs with 98 & 2000 for the OS. I would definitely recommend this product. - Rusty Bones
"poor video quality, low quality product" I ordered this product from Tigerdirect. The quality of the video was poor. I contacted Tigerdirect, but their returns policy was so much effort that I just threw the switch in the trash rather than deal with the aggravation of returning it to Tigerdirect.
"IOGEAR GCS62 MiniView Micro KVM Switch" I recommend the IOGEAR GCS62 MiniView Micro KVM Switch. I bought it to switch between two Pentium Core 2 Duo systems, and I haven't had any problems. The setup is straight forward and I love it.

What our customer's say!
"Video Degradation & Freezing Mouse", The tech specs on Amazon.com state that this product works with resolutions up to 1920x1440. However, on my 1680x1050 monitor, the video degradation was unacceptable. It flattened everything and made the video slightly, and annoyingly, blurry.
In addition, the mouse kept freezing at random intervals for a few seconds.
Both of these made it difficult to work and play, so I returned it.
I was intending to use this to switch between my main Windows machine and a box running Linux. For now, I am accessing the Linux machine via a remote desktop program called FreeNX: [..]
With FreeNX, I can't see the Linux system during bootup or shutdown, and I have to have my Windows machine on, but that's fine for what I'm doing now and it otherwise works great. It pretty much negates the need for a KVM switch, or at least can help [..]
People trying to switch between two Windows machines might want to look into similar programs, such as UltraVNC. (Windows does have a remote desktop feature, but XP Home cannot be accessed via the Windows remote desktop program.) Here's a list of some remote desktop software:

"Good Product", It worked without any problems. The only thing that it lacks of is an option where the hotkey can be changed.
"kmv switch", did not get to try it out......... ended up being the wrong item for the application i needed.
"works as advertised", I purchased several of these for use around the office. They installed with no problems and continue to work without failure.
I would buy more, but at this point I think most everyone has moved away from PS2 connections.
"Fine product at a reasonable price", I bought this a few days ago to connect to my Dell and Shuttle PCs. Installation is nothing more than connecting the cables, and it has performed flawlessly. No problems with video quality or non-responsive mouse when switching computers.

"GCS62 ", Great product have used several of these dosent drop mouse when swapping like some others I have used
"IOGEAR GCS62 MiniView Micro KVM Switch", Easy to hook up and works great. I have two of this connecting two different systems (one for over a year now) and have never had any problems with it.
"Good product for the price", I bought this KVM switch since it satisfied my specifications and had reasonably low price among similar others. I use it from time to time to switch between Dell notebook / WinXP Pro and Compaq workstation / WinXP Home, so far have no problems. The only inconvenience is the use of ScrollLock as a switching hotkey, which is different from double Ctrl, found in similar IOGear products.
"This product is fantastic!", In my home based computer/web design business, I often times work on PC's from family members or my customers. In the past, I would disconnect/reconnect cables from my PC to the PC I was trying to repair.
Needless to say, this was very inconvenient.
So, I purchased the IOGEAR PS/2 KVM Switch. This thing works great!
Absolutely simple to connect, no external power supply. It switches smoothly between my two computers with absolutely no flicker or loss of video. Video quality is superb. The keyboard and mouse work perfectly, even if I was working on one PC while the other was booting up.
I highly recommend this KVM Switch. Even if you just have a couple of computers at home or the office, this KVM Switch will make your life much easier and convenient.
If I had to describe this product in a single word, that word would be - Smooth...
"Great, but beware USB/PS2 adapters", I bought this along with a non-IOGEAR adapter to convert 2xPS2 to USB, as my notebook has no PS2 connectors. The result was horrible. If you need an adapter, buy the IOGEAR GUC10KM adapter. The setup works like a dream. It isn't worth the hassle of buying a cheaper USB/PS2 converter that could be incompatible. I have it switching KVM between my home desktop and my notebook, which is then running in two-screen mode with external keyboard and mouse. Magic!
