"Nice simple turntable", I just started listening to vinyl. I do consider myself an audiophile. I'm a Berklee College of Music Grad. I was going to buy a more expensive turntable, but all the other ones were meant for DJ work. I just want to listen to the records, not scratch them to hell. This table sounds great, i might get a better needle and stylus for it however, but the one that came with it is just fine for average listeners. If you want to listen to your beegee records this is a good table. I'm listening to Vivaldi and it sounds fantastic. Enjoy!

"Basic but good", I bought this turntable to be able to transfer vinyl records onto CD via my home PC. This turntable fits the bill perfectly. It has a built in pre-amp so the input voltage is just right. It is not a sophisticated hi-fi product but it is not meant to be - basically it does what it is supposed to do!

"More than worth the very reasonable price", This is a very nice turntable for the money. It has performed well for me over the past month, and it's great to be able to hear my old vinyl once again! It's an attractive unit as well.

"Nothing More, Nothing Less", If you're looking for a simple to use, cheap turntable to play your records, this one will work. If you've never played a vinyl record in your life, this turntable takes care of starting and stopping the record automatically. Setup is minimal and you can go from opening the box to playing a record in less than 5 minutes.

If you're looking for a professional-style turntable with lots of features, this won't work for you. If you need the turntable to sit more than a foot from your receiver you will also need a cord extension. The cartridge isn't replaceable and there's no tone adjustment.

I've used this product every night for over a month now and I haven't had a single problem with it. It plays records, nothing more, nothing less.

"You get what you pay for.", This is a very simple record player worth the $40 some dollars. Its a great record player to get started on.

"Perfect for what I was looking for.", I am amazed with the the quality of the Audio Technica AT-PL50 I purchased recently. I was looking for a turntable that had a built-in preamp so I could hook it up straight to my iPod Hifi and the AT-PL50 worked perfectly. The sound quality is amazing, the setup was simple. It's exactly what I was looking for and the price was perfect.

For some one looking to get into vinyl this is an inexpensive way to do it without sacrificing much.

"Excellent", This is an excellent turntable for converting your LP's to CD's. We get NO hum or buzz as the ground is built in to the RCA to Mini Stereo Plug Adapter that comes with it (Plugs into your soundcard Line IN). It is 100% automatic, which is great. You can make it do everything just by pressing different buttons on the front. Nice easy/soft close dust cover. Does not include software, but you can get it off the internet. It is free. Do a google search for 'download audacity software'. Also, Nero (full version) has an LP to CD Wizard built in (versions 7 or 8). Phono needle is included & comes installed. No need to pay more for a turntable that you are going to use just to convert all your LP's one time. Nice that the built in amplifier can be turned off or on in case you want to plug it into a stereo system with its own pre-amp. Best of both worlds. Very happy with this one!!!

"Great for the price", This player is great for the price. I have not experienced any problem with the sound. It has a nice metal platter with rubber pad, most players in this price range will cheapen it with a plastic platter with felt pad. For those on a budget and who want to just play their records and maybe record a few, this is a great buy. Professionals, or those with a giant record collection might want something a little more.

"No stars whatsoever", Not the greatest sound quality, but now, after playing 12 songs only, it started to slow down considerably... can't use it anymore, and I don't have the original packaging. Can I return it like that? Besides the packaging, the turntable itself is in excellent condition, hardly used at all.

"Great price Lovely product", The AudioTechnica AT-PL50 turntable is a lovely piece of hardware. Easy to set up (you have to install the table, which involves setting the belt on it... could be a daunting task, but the instructions and method given is pretty functional... if you are a total fumble-fingers, then you might want someone else to do the job for you) and extremely easy to use. I installed it for input directly to my computer (converting my old LP's to digital) and it worked as expected with no surprises. Has the feel of a quality piece of equipment, with damped lid and needle arm. Limited controls are sufficient and easy to work. If you are just looking for a turntable, this is a great combination of quality and price; a very good value.
