"Doesn't work with current Mac software", It does mention in the specs that it only works with Mac OS X 10.2.6 and below, so I should have known better, but with the glowing reviews and lack of much else that works on a Mac, I figured I'd give it a try. They're right; it doesn't work. It did actually work for about five minutes, and then started giving me error messages. It does however work with Maccam software, which is a free download at http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/. Hurray for those guys!

"NOT FOR MACS AS ADVERTISED!", I just got the camera today and was very excited to try it out--and THERE'S NO SOFTWARE TO INSTALL THE CAMERA FOR MAC! So, I have another useless webcam sitting around my apartment, which I DO NOT need!

"Excellent", I've had this camera for over 2 and a half years now, and I use it every day for work. It's great, clear quality, and the audio isn't too shabby either. I paid $79.99 for it at the time, and it was still a good deal even back then. I now have a Logitech Quickcam 5000 as well, but I still love this camera, and considering how much more they want for the 5000, this one's not far behind it in quality at all for the price. This camera has made me thousands of dollars, so I certainly have no complaints. :)

"Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000", Purchased this for my daughter a couple of years ago. I'm not fast at leaving reviews ;-) Anyway Item works great and I would recommed it to anyone. After some bad experinces with my daughters using "MY SPACE" the camera lives in the closet and NOT online. It's not the cameras fault,
but parents who have young girls need to monitor their online activites
and what web sites they go onto. I hope they pass a law requiring "MY SPACE" to 18 years and up. There are a lot of adults pretending to be kids. BEWARE!!!

"Good camera, awful software", Don't use it. The camera itself is one of the best, and recommended for stopmotion testing or finished Brickfilming across the board. Even in other countries.

After several years of its life on the market, this little webcam is still not outmoded by its cousins or predecessors.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"excellent piture", This is a neat little webcam. Picture is phenomenal. I mean it. Most importantly, there are no blue screen of death issues here. Sadly, it is a tad overpriced...I paid $95 for this webcam that has no avatars, no automatic focus (yep, you have to focus yourself...), and no echo cancelling feature.

Still, this is a sturdy little thing that delivers outstanding picture.

"Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000", This is my 2nd purchase of Logitech QuickCam Pro4000. I am a Logitech fan and purchased 6 webcams so far as gifts for my family and friends. I am very pleased with the product and especially wit Logitech Pro4000. When I heard that the Pro5000 came to market I went and bought it to see if it's better than the one I had. I was disappointed with the Pro5000. The image seemed clearer that on the Pro4000 on my side of the cam; however, it looked blured and weird at the other end according to my family. The software was awful also. I have a new laptop with Windows XP, so I should not have a problem of compatibility. I was frustrated with Pro5000 and finally took it back to the store. So, I strongly recommend that you buy the Pro4000, if you can still find it; I noticed it's out of stock almost everywhere.

"Awful on yahoo", The first thing I want to say is that the difference in quality you get out of this cam is very evident depending on what IM program you use. I used Yahoo for a while with family and we were all about ready to toss the thing in the garbage. However, since Logitech recommends MSN messenger we thought we'd give it a shot. Huge difference. The images were more clear, the sound was better and there were fewer "freezes".

However, it was still hardly outstanding and you must be prepared to spend quite a bit of time with your family and friends tweaking the distance of the cam from their face, the sound levels, the volume on their speakers, etc. And if they change any of that the next time you videoconference you'll need to start over. This thing is NOT plug and play for most people.

Face tracking is utterly useless. I don't know what miracle people are using to get it to work but for me all it does is make the cam jump all over the place. If you're impossibly frustrated with it try switching to MSN Messenger, go through the sound setup, see if that does the trick, if not then move the cam closer to your face and then turn down the volume on your speakers.

"Great Looking and Functional!", Looks great on my desk/computer/monitor. I had it for 3 years now, but w/ the LCD monitor it has to sit on top of my computer which sits on my desk. the VGA mode is cool. Captures huge picture. Auto brightness control.

"A good device", I bought this web cam for my son and daughter-in-law who live hours from us. We have used the QuickCam and generally it does a good job. With a lot of motion the picture is a little fussy but not problems otherwise. Setup was easy. Emailing videos is easy. and live video setup was easy.
