Others say..."Tom Clancy does it Again"This game is by far the best tactical shooter availible for any system right now. This game sets a new standard for FPS games. I loved the other Rainbow Six games (with an exception of the first one)and this one is no different. Graphics-4.5/5-Only because I've played Splinter Cell Controls-4/5-Relivively easy control setup, once you get used to all the alpha bravo charlie go code commands Story-3/5-Some madman stying to stel forgotten Nazi gold, a little strange, but it doesnt relly matter for gameplay Multiplayer-5/5-One of the best multiplayer online modes I have ever played. Enemy AI-4/5-Its either almost perfect or terrible. Enemies will scatter from grenades and bullets, take cover, and throw grenades back at you (if theyre lucky. On the bad side, some times they will run into oncoimng fire or just crouch out in the open, where you can easily pick them off, and sometimes when you use a breaching charge on a door they will just stand there waiting to see what comes out,not exactly smart. One thing I loved about this game was the weapons. You can choose from over 55 realworld weapons and put tons of different attachments on the. You can use things such as scilencers, high capacity magazines, mini scopes, thermal scopes and bipods. There are tons of graet weapons in this games like: MP5,M16,M4,AK-47,M82A1,FAMAS,UZI,Mac-11,phosphorous grenades, remote charges, claymores and much more. If you havent played this game already I sugguest you do so. Go out and buy this awesome game today. "flaws make this game average"For people with technical problems, my PC is a P4 1.6GHZ with Windows 2000, a Radeon 9000, 768mb of RAM, 60GB Hard Drive, and a 24bit Audigy 2zs sound card. I have completed the game and no problems arose whatsoever. My PC is not top of the line by a long shot and I still did not experience any fps drops and almost everything was set on the highest or second highest setting. Technically the game looks and sounds great, though I did see some things that bothered me (like mirrors that did not reflect you) but by and large everything looked and sounded great, this is not the problem with this game. The game engine was pretty good, in large fire fights I did not detect any fps drops and as I have mentioned my PC is not top of the line. The large choice of attire, weapons, and accessories is unparallel to me (at least compared with Ghost Recon). You can actually see your weapons (a feature Ghost Recon left out). New features such as sneaking and the ability to slowly open doors is a good addition. The ability to issue primitive commands (for ex. Open door, throw frag grenade, and then clear) makes the game play more fun and seemingly more professional. But there were some serious problems: You cannot save! This magnified some other problems that I will mention later. Most games allow you to save, making me repeat a mission several times from beginning to end can become tiresome. The AI is sometimes off. Especially your teammates who fail to provide adequate cover or happen to stray and get killed. This was made far more annoying by not having the ability to save, a small mistake by them literally made me want to kill my whole stupid team. The missions became repetitive. Three maps were repeated (so in fact there are only 12 maps) but by in large it was the type of mission which basically boiled down to neutralize all terrorists and maybe rescue a hostage on the side. There was one mission which broke the trend, but sadly it was the only mission. This was made more annoying by not being able to save! The physics often did not seem real though sometimes were breathtaking, but on a average were either ordinary or extremely unnatural. Planning is not as flexible as Ghost Recon which allows you to change the waypoints during the mission. The map was a bit awkward to use during the mission (it did not let you view the hole map at once). You can not pick up fallen weapons (why not?). The environment by and large cannot be interacted with (lights cannot be switched off or shot out). All in all the game was average, especially with an enclosed multiplayer, at this 20 dollars you might want to try it out and see if you like it. "A game that KICKS ASS ... even on a basic level!!"Before you start getting deep into this game, I'd recommend (besides downloading the latest patch from UBI Soft) spending as much time in the training area as possible, because you're going to need every bit of it. Not that the game is hard. It'd be embarassing, though, if you got killed off because you pressed the wrong button. In any case, Raven Shield is (contrary to what the reviewer has written) one of the most realistic combat simulations I've ever come across. Unlike other so-called simulations, you don't just blow the crap out of everything. This game forces you to use your brain. It also doesn't give you a break when playing on the easy level. In short, you have to know what you're doing, and how to do it, or you're toast. With enough training, though, everything else should fall into place. I definately got my money's worth when I purchased this game!! You'll probably find yourself playing Raven Shield for hours & hours at a time. I did. It never gets boring!! "Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield; Counter-terrorism at its best"In this gripping and compelling game made for all platforms, Raven Shield thrusts you into the world of the elite counter-terrorist world of Rainbow, a group of highly specialized and trained soldiers working to defeat terrorism around the world. The storyline is set in the year 2005, and as you watch the intro movie close, you understand that certain documents of WWII have been secreted from the abyss of destruction in a bank in Zagreb, Croatia, following the regime of the Ustaccia in Yugoslavia. The main culprit for all this? A man named Sicic. After the crumble of the German warmachine, he flees to Cayman Brac, a group of islands full of lovers of privacy. And slowly, from deep within the walls of his mansion, he organizes the fall of the Argentinian oil rigs and some other important locations around Europe, including the naval port at Bremen, in Sweden. Later, he shifts his movement into the more centralized region of Argentina and South America, and your team must uprise to the conflicts he begins creating. Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is a great game, made for those fanatics of the earlier editions of Rainbow Six, including Rogue Spear and the original game. Unlike Ghost Recon, you are not awarded medals or special recognitions, but the graphics and visual effects are so great, it makes you forget everything else. And, this strategy game brings you the best arsenal of any other game made under this series, and brings weapons ranging from sub-machine guns, like the all-new Skorpion, to the infamous Mini-Uzi 9mm, and arms your men with the new AK47 and AK74, the MP5 series, and the M16 and M4A1 automatic rifles. It equips you with new weaponry add-ons, such as the new, high-definition thermal indicator that fits nicely on any sniper rifle, the quick loading cartidges for any weapon, and the silencer that fits according to the muzzle of your weapon. Plus, it includes new pistols, secondary weapons, and secondary items, including lacrimogenal grenades, CS gas, and new kinds of explosives. Truly, this game gives the best of graphics, and will adapt to the newest of computers now selling on the market, along with other standard computer systems, and other game platforms, such as X-box and Playstation 2. I would highly recommend this game for any gamer fanatic of single-player shooter games. "good but with some flaws"Let me say, this game is really good. My three stars are not a reflection of problems with gameplay, so let me describe the game play first. In R6 3, you again lead a super secret team of commandos through a series of missions, some involving stealth, others firepower and most a combination of the two. As you might expect, the graphics are amazing. The weapon sounds are good also. This time, your HUD includes the barrel of your gun, which some gamers think adds to the experience. You can also issue commands on the fly to your team in case you come across an unexpected situation. The emphasis is on planning and careful execution, not raw firepower. My problem with this game is its repetitiveness. There are 15 levels, 3 less than Rogue Spear. But at least three of the levels use the same maps as earlier ones! That's right, in this game you have to go back to levels you cleared earlier and fight again. Sure, they have a different reason for each and there are different objectives. But I don't appreciate having to go back and replay a level I beat earlier. I think maybe Ubi Soft was trying to get this game out so they decided to ditch a few levels that were giving the programmers a hard time and just redo a few earlier ones. If it weren't for that, I'd give it 5 stars easily. It has everything you enjoyed about the earlier R6 games and then some more.

What our customer's say!
"Extremely fun once you work out the kinks : \", This game is very entertaining. Although it is a little less realistic than its predecessors, Raven Shield boasts better AI, and provides the player with an impressive arsenal of weapons to destroy things with.
I'd like to warn you now though: this game can suffer from a wide range of peculiar bugs and malfunctions, namely, bad CD keys and in some cases a reduced ability to connect to online games. My biggest complaint is the integration of Punkbuster into this game. It's software that limits and punishes people who like to cheat during online games with various kicks and bans. However, it often will kick you for trivial reasons and other things that aren't really your fault ("bad" screennames, timed out while trying to update PB clients, etc.). It's disconcerting when you're kicked from a server for every 5 minutes because of some error code you can't understand or remedy. Don't expect any help from Ubisoft or Evenbalance. The former always blames evenbalance, and Evenbalance does not post its phonenumber and will not return your emails -- they don't like helping people fix their glitchy software. Aside from that I have one *IMPORTANT WARNING*: when you connect to an online game, Ubisoft determines whether or not your CD key is allowed on that server. If you get banned, reinstalling will not help...you're just out of luck. Often times, people who get banned from too many servers will craftily sell their useless software to some unsuspecting user over the internet. The game will appear to work fine, but you will soon realize that you've been had when you try to connect to a game server -- from which YOUR CD HAS BEEN BANNED. Ask questions before buying, or you might get ripped off.
"Military Man's Review", I'm a grad of Team Tactics and Anti-Terrorist training schools. With that in mind this is how I break out Raven Shield. First off the graphics were great, quite a step up from Rogue Spear. The graphics really require a top notch video card, I tried running the game originally on a 128 card an it was very glitchy. Once I upgraded to a 256 card, things smoothed out and I had no more problems. Game Play. Pros: Team planning allows you to adjust the the number of team members used, the equipment they use, and the load out of weapons. Most importantly you can control entry to each and every room. Teams move in actual team fashion, entering rooms in either storm or zipper fashion, and they are far better shots than you. Story line, although perhaps a tad hollywood fantasy, it was engaging and you wondered what you'd uncover next. I usually hate little cinamatics between levels, but these were great! Weapons choice is great, remember to outfit your guys with weapons YOU are comfortable using. The game in intrest of emulating the armed forces of the commandos you are pretending to be or maybe just to get you to use other weapons, loads you out with all sorts of useless weapons, so make sure you change them to what YOU like. I especialy liked the acuaracy differences between the weapons as well as knock down differences. Armor and Cammo selection. It was great that you could pick your cammo, which made it easy to differentiate between your teams by giving each team a specific color of cammo. I also like that you were nosier and slower in heavier armor. Cons: In a tactical team you have the lead man or point, the tail end charlie and in between you have utility men. Now the hardest thing about learning team tactics is trusting each member of your team to cover his line of fire. I can't tell you how often my Utility man would rush ahead of me and block my line of fire, then get shot himself. While engaging my target, my team members would often ignore their target to engage my target. Team members not under my direct control would walk cheerfully into ambushes. I would often have to clear ambushes in their sector before I could send them on. Eventually I structured my assualts so that the other teams would cover my back to prevent terrorist from circling around while I cleared out all the bad guys. A terrorist that can't be brought down by a 7.62 round fired from an asualt rifle, can easily take you out at long range with a pistol in one shot through your heavy kevlar. Unlike Rogue Spear, this AI just could not get flash banging a room right. If you told one of your teams to flash a room before entering they would get themselves shot to pieces first then flashbang themselves. Not that it mattered, Flashbangs didn't seem to effect the terrorist at all. While your team stumbles around, the terrorist would pick you off from the very spot that the grenade went off. Although I listed a lot of cons, overall I love the Rainbow six series. It is very realistic as far as the tactics needed to accomplish the missions. The weapons have kick. Your ability to shoot is comprimised by wounds. Team members that are not snipers have a tougher time using the sniper rifles. The missions were great. I espesially love that the bad guys don't show up in the same spots each time. I love being able to swap team members out and that as you use them they get better at certain jobs, like leadership if you put them in charge of team. I highly recommend this game. I didn't even go into how much fun this game is online. If you like FPS, then the Rainbow series is hands down the very best.
"Sniper pistols", I was a big fan of UBI Soft Ghost Recon which is why I am so disappointed. What happened?! This is easily one of the worst games I've seen come out of any company, but to come from UBI Soft, is a real shock. The only saving grace for the whole game is that unlike most others, when you play a level a second time, the enemies are not in the same places and react differently. It keeps the game from getting old. What does make the game very old, very fast, is the AI. I eventually had to give up with using AI teams because they never fail to blow themselves up with thier own breeching charges, ignore terrorists 10 feet away from them or walk around corners and give away my postion. But by far the most frustrating part is what I have come to call, the sniper pistol. Here is the scene: You've spent 20 minutes clearing the level of all terrorists. You sneak up on the last one. He's 100 meters away, you have an unobstructed shot and he's looking the other way. You draw a bead on him, centermass on his back. You fire a shot but instead of dropping, he spins, kneels and fires a single shot from his pistol, killing you instantly. Eventually I resorted to god-mode just to get some entertainment out of the game. We deserve better from UBI Soft.
" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!", wass up everyone this game was cooool!!!!! super realistic!!!! In most games(SOCOM BHD.......ETC) they make the AK-47 INNACURATE!!! in this game it is soo accurate!!!!!!
..............................it was fun
"REALISIC..... but not my cup of tea", This game is very realisic. And one of the best things about it is there is a whole line up of weopons to choose from, going from 50 M82A1 sniper rifles, to M60s, to AK47's, to M16's. But this game can become very boring after a while. For people who like to do stealthy kind of missions... BUY IT!!!! For people who like to grab an M60, scream "CHARGE", and run at the enemy's base while sparying bullets in all directions... DON'T BUY IT!!!! buy BattleField Vietnam!!!!

Read this reviews before You buy..."Good game, but require Patient, Passion and Planning to Play", I have completed virtually all the Tom Clancy Rainbow series except ghost recon (which I am not sure it is in the Rainbow series). I also completed Splinter Cell as well. Overall, if you don't cheat (ie. no cheat code in the game and no autoaims), the hardest part of the Rainbow series is the recon mission. And thankfully, RavenShield only have one recon mission and it's super easy compared to the previous games! Also, since it is using the unreal engine, new map and map editor may be available! So this game is expandible! People who don't like the Rainbow series normally play games with med-kits (Rainbow has no med-kits and mostly one-shot-kill) and jumpy (Rainbow can't jump). Also, Rainbow requires players to be patient and to have plans. So if you like med-kit and jumping and close-combats, try the Counter Strikes or Unreal instead. "Get it out the doorI", Out of 20 years of playing video games, I have never played a game that sucked worse than this one. Not that it locks up. Heaven forbid that the agony be interrupted. This game is crammed with inconsistencies. Over and over, the shooters, although obscured behind objects, have the ability to shoot you when you are unable to shoot them. At distances, and many other instances, the sights appear to be locked on but when you repeatedly shoot, the computer opponent cannot be brought down. The left hand keyboard controls are hard to find and easy to get lost in. I believe this software to be reflective of a "get it out the door" philosophy that pervades Engineering today. Get it out the door so we can start making money and the hell with the customer. I am so outraged; I will support nothing that UBI has anything to do with ever again. If I were Tom Clancy, I would hang my head! "It takes two to", Speaking theatrically for a moment, there's an important, and oft confused distinction between the terms 'realistic' and 'naturalistic'. Naturalism seeks to show its audience a slice of sensory reality; that is, something that looks, sounds, even smells like real life. Realism, on the other hand tries to show the real truth about life - not the costumes or lights of the stage, but the relationships, tension and drama of the world. Raven Shield, the latest in the Rainbow Six series, is a healthy helping of both. As such, it's not really fair to describe this title as a totally 'Realistic' action game. There's no such thing. What you do get is a highly charged and tension wracked experience that features a great many lifelike moments, packed with guns and gadgets and hours of enthralling gameplay. As part of the elite Special Forces organization 'Rainbow', it's your job to lead a team of highly trained soldiers to thwart the machinations of evil, gun-toting baddies. You get to equip your team, plan your attack, and lead your troops in the 1st Person, much the same as previous titles in the series. There's a lot in common with the game's predecessors - an emphasis on stealth, team tactics and accurate shooting, especially when there are hostages involved. The game world is lovingly created, from the mission planning stage where you kit out your agents, to the huge interactive environments you'll be stalking through. Ubisoft has positively crammed detail into this game, and visually it's by far the most striking of the series. If your video card is up to the job you'll be treated to lush, high-res graphics with plenty of environmental effects, such as swaying trees, billowing smoke, fluffy snowflakes and more. All the weapon models and animations look fabulous, and you can see each weapon and grenade dangling from the belts of your troops as you lead them into action. Equally the sound is top notch, with bullets that positively sizzle past your head, and convincing speech from your team...nothing beats hearing 'tango's down' crackling over your headset. There's plenty of ambient sound to enjoy as well, and the game rewards players who pay attention to subtleties like footsteps, or doors creaking open. The game AI is robust and versatile, though its here that many players tend to throw around the word 'realistic' in disparaging tones. Sure, there's room for improvement - your team occasionally gets disoriented when traversing doors or ladders, and the enemy intelligence will sometimes ignore your gunfire, or the death of a nearby colleague. Still, these occasions are infrequent, and on the whole the game puts on a good show, considering it's responsible for up to 7 computer controlled commandos and dozens of terrorists in one level. Coupled with a robust and enjoyable multiplayer mode, Raven Shield has almost all the bases covered for a tactical shooter. My expectations in the realism department are catered for, and then some, with tons of options and weapons to play with (over 50), all based on their real life counterparts. 'Based on' is a good way to describe how true to life this game is...if you want something more convincing I suggest you uninstall and never again play this game after you first die - hey, no second chances in the wet-works department. For everyone else in search of a thoughtful and highly atmospheric shooter, this latest adventure should sneak its way into your collection; and then flash-bang the pants off it!
"Who is smoking the cheap stuff?", Is it the developers or people who paid $60.00 for this repetitious and unimaginative piece of garbage? Although I agree that there has been an improvement in Graphics, the game is plagued with problems much like its predecessor. It seems the developers haven't improved the game at all. The storyline is very similar to the two games before it and layout of the missions seems almost identical, as well. In single player missions your team members seem blind and AIs can take you out with a 9mm from 200 yards with a single shot. Ridiculous. I got this game at Boxing day sale in Canada for 20 Canadian dollars. If you did spend more than 20 US than you are smoking the cheap stuff:)
"amazing game", All i can say is this game is incredible all around. just another great Tom Clancy product. the use of the Unreal engine makes quite a difference. i loved SWAT3 more than anything and though this game isn't quite as good, in regards to Team control, it's definitely 2nd in my book.
