"One of the greatest vgames ever made"
That is one of the greatest vgames ever made, why? because for the gameplay and the replay value.

I purchased this to my girlfriend who love mario games. She has never played the SNES version and instantly felt in love with this gem.

A must have for anyone who likes Mario vgames!

"Origional comeback"
I was surprised when they made this game into a gameboy game. It was origionally on the super nintendo, and it was one of my favorites, and I was surprised when I saw it remade in gameboy form. This is still a favorite game of mine, and I know every level and secrets by heart almost, and I'm still not tired of it. I like the art and graphics, and the gameplay is easy enough, but I hope everyone enjoyes this remake.

"Yoshi's Back,Baby!"
I just noticed that I got this game and... I'ts so much fun!You get to go on and play as Yoshi with Baby Mario to reunite the babys. On other hand I noticed that Mario is a baby.He is so cute! But Yoshi is really mad CUTE!!!!!Both of them are cute!I won this game, because of Baby Bowser.I defeat him three times in his baby room in the final stage. But Kamek,King Bowser's Guardian(who kinapped Baby Luigi in the story) have turn Bowser into a Giant! It's so easy! You have to get the Giant Eggs from the ballons floating in the air. Then you hit Bowser in the face before he runs at you and fires fire balls at you from his mouth:Or he'll crack the whole screen! You got to hit him 10 times to rescue Baby Luigi(Mario's Brother)and the captured stork. When Yoshi got stun,Baby Mario will fall off his back.Baby Mario will float in a energy bubble and a countdown will begin. When it reaches 0 Kamek's stupid minnions will swoop in and kidnap him.(I don't know why Kamek wants the two babys when he sents the babys will bring danger to the koopas when the babys are grown up)I'ts too easy when you have to retrive Baby Mario. It's really a fun game!!!!!!!!Yoshis and Baby Mario ROCKS!!!5 Stars for YALL! Such a fun game,yo!

"hecka' fun"
this game is awesome. It's basically the same original style of gameplay as every other mario but more monsters, levels, sublevels, bonus challenges and more fun. In all actuality, it's nothing like other mario's aside from it's setup. Plus, Mario's a baby! and he isn't nearly as annoying as all the other ratings say... i hardly even noticed it. (Although you aren't me... take my advice :D) Plus, what if mario didn't cry. then you wouldn't know when or if he even fell off of Yoshi... buy this game ;D

"TRE MUCHOS ADDICTING!"
Nintendo's done it again! I absolutley loved "Yoshi's Island"! This game isn't good for younger children (under the age of 7), as there are parts of it that can annoy you to heck! (exp- when you're almost done completing a level you've been trying to pass forever and die >_<) It's really entertaining, and I could barely put it down! I hope to purchase "yoshi's island" for nintendo DS, too! ;)

What our customer's say!

"STILL a classic game by today's standards!", Even though I like the more "modern" Nintendo games (for the DS in particular), Yoshi's Island stands out in the crowd as one game that you can play and enjoy. The colorful graphics and catchy music will have you playing "just one more" game before powering down for the evening. I had the opportunity to pick this game up again, and I am now glad that I did. It has all the pastel colors that lured me to it in the first place, and very responsive controls as well. Here's a breakdown below:

Graphics: 10/10
Control: 10/10
Music: 10/10
Sound Effects: 10/10
General Score: 10/10

I could find no real faults for this game, as it can be picked up by anyone and played. The bonus Mario Bros. game is a welcome addition to those that have played this before, and might attract new gamers as well. It's reasonably priced, and could round out your DS library nicely. Enjoy an old classic today.

"Beautiful, simply beuatiful...Everthing about it sparks with glory...", This game was the sequel to the most popular Super Mario World in the 1990's for the SNES, and is a platformer as is its predecessor, and not only that, it explains how Mario came to be. When the kind stork was carrying two baby orphans, Mario and Luigi, to their parents, flying across Yoshi's island, home to all Yoshis, it was assaulted by Kamek, the Koopa/Witch who worked for a little dragon named Bowser. She managed to snatch one baby, but the other, fell straight down onto Yoshis Island, and fell on one Yoshi's back, along with a map that the stork was using of Yoshi's island. It was decided that several yoshis of different colors were to see where the map led, maybe to find Luigi, Mario's brother, and stop Bowser's plan. So came super Mario world 2: Yoshi's island for the SNES. The game sold well, and got the right to be remade for the GBA, with several advancements. Now that you know the game's history and the plot, we should probably move on to the gameplay of Yoshi's island. You play as yoshi, with baby Mario riding on your back. Baby Mario hardly serves any purpose at all; in fact, it would probably make more sense on Yoshi's part to leave baby Mario behind with the Yoshi's that stayed behind. Now then, Yoshi's moves consist of: A: Jumping. Useful for defeating certain enemies you may land on and jumping over hills and obstacles. Also, if you press A in the air, yoshi will elevate slightly higher. B: Makes yoshi stick his long, stick-like tongue out. His tongue can put certain enemies in his mouth, and you can press B again to spit them out. D-pad controls: D-Pad Up: Makes yoshi look up, and makes the screen camera move slightly up to see what's above you. Also, when yoshi is looking up, if you stick his tongue out, it will go up instead of right/left. D-Pad down: makes yoshi duck, making the camera move slightly down, and occasionally avoiding enemies. If you have an enemy in your mouth, you can swallow it with this button. Also, while in the air, by pressing down, Yoshi will do a flip and point his butt at the ground, then very quickly slamming the ground; this attack is more powerful then jumping. D-Pad Left/Right: Using left will make you run to the left, and right will make you move to the right. Applying a gentle push will make Yoshi walk, and pushing on them harder will make him almost immediately run. To make him immediately run, you must hold down B. R: Most enemies will turn into eggs and follow yoshi wherever he goes when yoshi swallows an enemy. By pressing R, yoshi will pick up the egg, and a red X will be going up and down. You can choose the way you want yoshi to throw the egg; the first way is just by pressing R and than pressing it again to throw the egg; the second way is to hold down R, and once it is released, yoshi will throw the egg in the direction of the red X. As you can see, this targeting system takes good timing, but it's actually quite easy to get used to. Now there are many enemies in Yoshi's island, of many shapes and sizes, that, if touched, will make Yoshi flinch back, and cause baby Mario to go off of Yoshi's back. Mario will be enveloped by a small bubble, and a meter of 10 seconds will appear. If yoshi does not touch the bubble in 10 seconds, Kamek's minions will fly down and take baby Mario away. Across levels, there will be glittering rings that yoshi can continue from if this happens or if he falls down a pit. Many enemies in this game include shy guys, which are basically red boxes with, white, circular masks with black, circular holes for the eyes and mouth. Others include small, blue, bats with orange wings that swoop down on yoshi, or bandits that try to grab Mario and steal him away. Now that you know a little bit about the gameplay, it's time to move onto the graphics, which I was truly impressed by. The background is almost full 3D, and the land that yoshi can walk on is beautiful and full of colors; some of these look like giant, 3D, clouds that were painted all sorts of pretty colors and placed flowers upon, others look like hundreds and hundreds of black and blue shiny gems, these floors and platforms are in underground caves. There are many floors beside that, I just named a few. Also, stones in castles look very nice and realistic. Yoshi and enemies have bright, colors, and many more things will also look very beautiful. All in all for the graphics, Yoshi's island is defiantly on of the best-looking GBA and SNES games around. The music in the game is...simply amazing. It 100% captures the feel and setting for each level in such a good way, that it seems indescribable. Some levels will have the calm tune, where many will have his jazzy one which I will never forget. The cave and castle music are just so awesome unforgettable. This game has some of the best music you'll ever find for its era. Many small clouds with wings will also be floating around levels, and if hit by an egg, may give you stars, which increase your seconds until Mario is taken away (the glittery rings I mentioned before will also do this), circular coins, and if 100 are obtained, an extra life will be gotten until game over, game over really doesn't do anything except reset those glittery rings, because whenever you defeat a level anew or replayed, the game saves automatically. These clouds may also contain other surprises like making a staircase in a level. There are also several minigames to be played in which prizes will be obtained throughout levels, a good example is giving you the maximum eggs that can follow you. You can access these items by pressing select. Now, one thing I forgot to mention was the world map. A map will appear whenever you start your file (there are 3 in all and can be erased or copied) that shows yoshi, awesome graphics and landscapes, and 6 numbers for six worlds. You may use the D-Pad to select a word and press A to go into it, in which two castles which inhabit bosses at the end, and several other levels will appear. Unfortunately, unlike super Mario world, there will be boxes and a pointer to enter levels, instead of a map that you can walk all over. When on the box select screen, you can easily switch to other boxes from the other world without going back to the map screen. One of the best things about this game is the replay value. Every single level in the game is repayable, and I find myself constantly playing these levels, over again, just for the fun and thrill of it. All in all, this game deserves my 10 for such a game that...that...Well it's just such a masterpiece... A must buy for any Nintendo fan. Not to mention it comes with the arcade Mario Bros., upgraded to sprites from the original super Mario advance, or super Mario bros. 2. So it's a masterpiece, a must-buy.

" Yoshi's island is FUNNER than super mario bros.3", Since this game is FUNNER than super mario bros.3 as you see in my title I played it more times too. And so if you get both you might play it more too. So try not to get super mario bros.3 okay? (-:

"YOSHI ROCKS", Cant go wrong with this game. Yoshi is one of our favorite Nintendo characters and the game has alot of action. An adult may actually enjoy this game.

"Yoshi's Island is a great game", We purchased this game for my son(who is 10) and he really likes it. I asked him to tell me what he enjoys about it since I have never played the game myself. I figured the opinion of the 10-year-old player would be more useful. He gave it the 5-star rating. He says "It is cool that you can morph into different things and it has lots of different levels to play on." He also likes the "storyline" or "plot" of the adventure since Yoshi is one of his favorite characters. I can tell you that it IS NOT a game he played for 10 minutes and got bored with. He has continued to enjoy it very often.

"Yoshi's Island Super Mario Advance 3!", Ok, when you first turn on your gameboy you have two options, you can play the game, or you can do mario brothers. Mario Brothers is so stupid!
1.You can't save it! Once you quit or die you can't go back to the level you are on.
2.you play boring mini games that are not fun!

On the other hand, Yoshi's Island is lots of fun! What's different about it from the other games is that Mario is a baby. But he is so cute! You have cute little Yoshis (there are about 8 Yoshis) that bring mario home. You can save the game and it moves from one Yoshi to another. For example, if you started on the green Yoshi, you will move to the pink Yoshi if you pass the level.

"Definetly A Little Kid's Game", I have all the Mario games for Gameboy Advance and decided to get Yoshi's Island to add to the collection. I ended up selling it because I didn't like it at all. Yoshi moves around to fast and it's hard to retrieve Mario when he falls off Yoshi's back. This game is frustrating and it's a huge disappointment compared to the other Mario games I've played. I don't miss "Yoshi's" island at all. I wouldn't recommend this game to anybody.

"I didn't like it !", I was anxiously waiting for this game, when i played it, i didn't liked it!! It's fun i didn't like the whole thing about you protecting mario, and then he cries if the baddies get to him. Some parts are like strategically you have to figure out what to do!, I didn't liked it, but it was someewhat fun

"An eight-year-old's review", I personally think this game is too hard. Well, that doesn't stop me from playing it. Well, let's face it. World 4 is about a gigantic monster that is a helper. And believe me, that is nearly impossible, in my opinion. Don't take my word for it though. This guy snatches one of the Mario Brothers but forgets the other one. The other Mario falls from the sky onto the green Yoshi's back. Then, a runaway begins. As the Yoshis team up and make an obstacle course to carry Baby Mario on their backs, "Watch Out Below" is my second favorite scene. But, I hold my temper when it gets too hard. I say I won't let my temper go wild, even if this game is a little hard. After all, it is one of the hardest Mario games. On the fourth world, bursting hot lava is coming out and there are little lines that you can jump onto and stay there. But, some of the lines move. And when the giant monster comes, guess who's excited? Me! Some of the levels are a snap and others, well, take nearly two days. Thank goodness for my friend, Joey, at Kids Club. He taught me how to play the game. You can also hop on donuts, and the donuts fall down. So, when you play, I don't want you to get frustrated. You can eat enemies and make eggs, hop over and kill monsters, and it would be a great experience for you. There are also cute little baby sounds. But, if you get caught by a monster, then Baby Mario goes up in a bubble, and you have ten seconds to grab him. But, there are some things that make you get twenty seconds to grab him. But, this time you don't control the characters. They control you, if you know what I'm saying. Killing the big gigantic monster on the front cover is easy. You can just make one of those eggs and throw it at him. But, he might eat you up. Of course, the monster you see on the front cover isn't always that big. He gets big a few minutes later. But, the cover of the game doesn't exactly look the same as the characters in the game. The monster is blue on the cover of the game, and he is red in the game. Don't you think that's strange? Yoshi has an excellent jump. Jumping over the monster will be easy. But, beware of the monster. I recommend this game for everybody!

"No Yoshi is an Island", Having enjoyed Yoshi Touch & Go for the Nintendo DS, I was eager to get my hands on the original, Yoshi's Island!

The Story begins with a stork taking two newborn babies to their parents. Those two babies are Mario and Luigi. Suddenly, an evil witch named Kamek charges at the stork with top speed, snatching only Baby Luigi. Baby Mario falls toward Yoshi's Island and lands on Yoshi. Something else falls along with him. It's a map the stork used to find the babies' house. Since Yoshi can't figure out the strange situation, he decides to talk to his friends about it, completely unaware that Kamek's forces will stop at nothing to get Baby Mario. Will the two babies make it home?

You control Yoshi, making sure nothing harms Baby Mario, swallowing enemies, and making eggs to throw at other enemies. In certain areas, you may find a bubble that lets Yoshi morph into a useful vehicle (for example, using a helicopter to fly over a big gap). Every time you reach a boss level, Kamek enlarges a normal enemy and you have to find a way to defeat it, such as pulling down the pants of a boss, making him deflate from embarrassment.

As for the replay value, there's plenty of it. With plenty of levels and the classic Mario Bros. game included on the cartridge, there's definitely something to bring Yoshi and Mario fans back for more.

Enjoy! If you like this game, I also recommend Yoshi Touch & Go for the Nintendo DS. You can use the magic pen to throw eggs, draw clouds, and help Yoshi guide Baby Mario back home.
