"Great Family Entertainment", These are great family & children films with values and lessons. We have the complete series now.

"Good Sequel", This isn't my favorite land before time sequel, but I like it a lot better than most of the later sequels.
I used have the VHS version, but since my VCR doesn't work anymore, I don't watch it...:P

**MAJOR SPOILERS**

The plot is like this:

Little Foot and the gang are playing with a rock, (basically like playing ball), three "new" dinosaurs, Hyp, who is the leader of the bullies, Nod-who basically agrees with everything Hyp says, and Mutt-who agrees with what Hyp AND Nod says, he's not that bright, but he does make some funny points later in the film, XD, I think anyway...

So, they keep bullying the poor kids, then meteors fall into the Great Valley and into the mysterious beyond. They all survive of course.

Later, the water fall stops flowing, so the Great Valley has very little water. So, Little Foot and his pals try to find out why the water is gone. Of course, Little Foot, being the smart one of the bunch, realizes it is because of the meteors that blocked the water flow from the Mysterious Beyond.

Hyp and his pals try to find water too, of course they do so in competition of the little ones.

Meanwhile, the adults get really worried about the water and Cera's dad gets into that old "the toughest ones survive, the weaker ones die" mode. So he gets obsessed with not wasting the remaining water in the Great Valley.

His pride and male ego get Cera into trouble when a fire scorches the valley and he wants to go one way while the others go the other way. His way is wrong, but of course he and Cera are saved by Little Foot's grandfather.

Suddenly, Hyp and his pals go into the mysterious beyond in search for water. Hyp gets into trouble and Little Foot and his gang save him.

More stuff happens from here, but I'm not going to go any farther, just to those who haven't seen this movie, I have gave you a lot of information, so I let you have the pleasure of figuring it out for yourself. ^^

What I liked about this movie: I liked two of the songs in here which was "When your Big", it is sung by Hyp and his pals. The meaning of the song is not that great, but it's just a fun song for me. The other song, "Kids like Us" is a lot more meaningful, since it is about how Hyp and his buddies are like Little Foot and his gang, no matter how different or how mean they are to them. I liked the character Hyp in this movie even though he was mean to the five little dinos, only because I feel bad for the people that are awkward in their ways. He seemed to be a bit awkward in many scenes. I also feel bad that his dad was being a terrible father to him. This showed a reflection of Cera's relationship with her dad and Hyp's personality seemed to reflect Cera's personality as well. I'm surprised Hyp and Cera didn't become best friends. ^^ Well, I guess it is true that the person you hate the most is the person that reflects your most darkest traits the most. I also simply love this movie because it is a childhood favorite of mine. I'll even add it to my Listamainia!

What I disliked: How Cera's dad gets all bossy and tells his daughter "I am your father and I know what is best for you!" My own dad can get like that too. As much as I like Hyp, I do know for a fact that kids act like their favorite characters and copy movies with the different lines, but don't really know what they mean. So I don't like the thought of a kid taking Hyp's or Cera's example. Hopefully, the kiddies will grow out of it.

"Fantastic movie and series for children of any age!!", The entire LBT series, and this movie in particular, deals with issues that all kids, parents and families are faced with on a daily basis (love, friendship, trust, just to name a few). The family issues include single parenting and adoption (both touch my family) and it is a great way for my son to learn that each family is different. In this particular movie, Littlefoot and his friends are dealing with "bullies" and it is a perfect chance for parents and children to discuss how to deal with other children who may not be as nice as they are. My son, who is almost 5, names all dinosaurs after the LBT characters, we have the CD playing in the car most of the time and he watches both of the Singa-a-Long tapes constantly. I know he learns something new each time he watches one of the movies because of the discussions we have. I cannot praise this series enough!!

"The Time of Great Confusion", I couldn't understand if they were speaking language or else not. Sometimes I lay awake at night and wonder if this is how those graceful creatures spoke to each other. Although this movie was a bit too artsy for me, I still thought it was pretty good even though I couldn't understand what they were saying. Overall, this is my third favorite Land Before Time movie, only the seventh and the ninth are much better. Littlefoot still rules the Jurassic Period.

"Kids will enjoy it, but might get the wrong message...", I did not like this movie at all, and I have taken it out of our collection and put it in the trash. The only reason that I didn't like this movie is because of the bullies in it that pester Little Foot and his friends. It is negative, and have found my two year old son starting to act out some of the behaviours that the bullies do in this movie.
Get it if you wish, but I don't recommend it.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Better...but not good...sequel...", The second sequal is...marginally good on account of one good song (yes I know that sounds impossible). However, it doesn't make up for the fact that the rest of the movie stinks.

Especially Sarah...my god she does nothing but scream for five minutes in one scene!! It makes you irritated beyond belief! Oh sure, you may think I'm overreacting, but you listen to some one give a girly high-pitched scream every two seconds for five minuntes and then tell me how you feel. Sarah should have been killed off and saved us all a lot of mercy. She probably should have been killed by Sharptooth in the first movie!

This sequel could be enjoyable for some. Could be.

"Fun way to learn about working together", Even though words like "dumb" were used, this is a reality for children. It gives parents an opportunity to talk to children about how it feels to be called names and to be sensitive to others feelings. My kids love all the movies and pretend play the characters. They see what being a good friend is all about. I can refer back to the movie to make a point.

"Warning, Warning! Not suitable for children!!!! 0 stars!", "Hip" the young bully dinosaur refers to Littlefoot, Cera and the other young dinosaurs as big babies. He also uses the words stupid and dumb. This is very unfortunate for an otherwise wonderfully creative concept. I now find myself trying to explain to a 2 year old that these are unacceptable things to say.......

"Great fun with Great morals!!", My 3 1/2 year old son can not get enough of this whole series. He wants to watch them over and over. The stories & characters are fun and the songs are wonderful. The best part is they all have great lessons and messages for kids to learn. They are all about caring and good morals without preaching to the children. My son loves to talk about the story after watching them and doesn't even realize he has learned whatever message they were trying to get across. Kids seem to identify with the little dinosaurs and their relationships with the adults. A great video collection that makes both children and adults happy.

"One of the best of this series.", Excellent film, with interesting characters and well-chosen topics
