What our customer's say!
"Great Joystick!!!!!!", This the Best joystick I've ever owned.I've had a lot of different ones over the years. The best one I had befor this was the Thrustmaster ones that I still do use.The main difference between the Thrustmaster ones is that they have a very very hard spring ,that even tho is very strongly build can make anyones hands and arm get very tired and sore after any long use plus you need to strap down the base otherwize the spring tenson is so strong that to pull the stick in any direction just lifts the whole base and unit right off the desk. The CH Products Fighterstick is a pleasure to use. It's very well built, has tons of fully programable buttons and the Biggest suprize that I got once I placed the unit on my desk was that the spring tenson was so smooth and light that I can quickly throw the stick in any direction with no pull of the base at all!!!! Wow!! This is Great!!!You would have to realy push the stick to the very extream limits of it's movement to cause the base to lift.If you do that sort of thing just use a little double sided tape to place a small square of Velcro to both the base and desk to hold back even this extream movement. It's a big joystick, I have large hands and it's still seems a bit big but I feel totally comfortable useing it for long perionds of time with no hand or arm soreness.Overall a high quility and very enjoyable joystick to use.
"Non plus ultra", In more than twenty years of flight simming I've been happy with only two joysticks. One was the indestructable WICO bat-handle from the 1980's. This is the other one. I've used these exclusively for more than ten years with no problems. They are extremely steady, well-balanced, and tough as nails. They aren't temperamental and they don't break. Well worth the money.
"Excellent stick", I've owned this stick for a few years now, and its been nothing but fantastic. The mechanics and buttons are extremely reliable and provide good tactile feedback. The movement is consistent, and over the years the stick hasn't lost a bit of its precise feel and reliability. The stick feels quite sturdy when used, though it can sometime move a little around the desk if the rubber feet aren't clean.
The movement of the stick takes a little getting used to, as it has a tendency to 'stick' when crossing the X or Y axis. I believe this is due to the way its constructed, and once you get used to it its hardly noticable. In fact, it makes it easier to make movements of the stick directly along the X or Y axis without having to worry about drifting to either side.
The software is excellent and provides a wealth of customizability. A full scripting language is provided as well as simple keyboard and mouse emulation (with enough buttons to make it worth while).
There are replacement parts (though I've never needed any) available from the manufacturer on their webpage which provides a nice feeling of security should anything eventually go wrong.
On the down side, the stick may be a little large for some hands (I sometimes have difficulty reaching the secondary fire button with my thumb without shifting my hand on the stick) and it lacks any kind of rudder control (which means you'll probably have to purchase some extra peripheral to provide rudder, I use the CH pedals which I would highly recommend as well).
This stick is hands-down the best joystick I've ever owned.
"Program Specialist", Programming the game controller, the Y-Axis wasn't responding as it pointed out in the huge Programing Manual. Sent it back for refund.
"Great Product with Caution!", This is a great flight stick. However, if you are accustomed to a twist rudder on your stick, this is not the stick for you. You must use other keys to rudder or by the rudder pedals. The stick is high quality in any event.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"Very nice well made stick", I have had this stick for a month now, and I love it. It was recommended by a friend that has had his for about 4 years now. It is very well made and it feels good, however, you must have big hands because this is a big stick. The trim wheels make a huge differance playing Lockon. Since this doesn't haven't a rudder, I use 2 buttons which works pretty well. The throttle wheel sucks cause it doen't respond right away (it's usable though)
"CH Not what it used to be", I am a long time flight simmer, and back in the early days I owned several of CH's joysticks, along with their throttle and rudder pedals. At that time, they were simply the best one could get. Due to various factors, I did not have the money to buy CH when WinXP came out and forced everyone to switch to USB, but that recently changed, and I was very glad at the time to have the opportunity to once again use what I thought would be the best gear. However, I have found that they are not what they used to be. The stick I received would not return to center properly, and slowly grew worse over time. At first it was simply a matter of setting a small deadband, but it grew worse enough that even deadband wouldn't help. Along with this, it would not hold steady, and needed constant correction. I filled out the customer service request form on their web page, and still have not received an answer, after over a week. I also have called and been put on hold each time for over half an hour(at my expense)and still have not gotten to speak with anyone. So I can testify that their customer service, which at one time was top notch, has declined sharply as well. I was finally able to repair the stick myself, after following instructions from an outside forum, which involved having to disassemble the unit and rebuild it due to a large amount of backlash from a very improper fit of the pots. This is simply unacceptable in a stick of this price. I am sorry to have to write a review such as this, as CH used to be the best you could get, both in terms of quality as well as service. In addition, the design has not changed in over a decade, and there are much more comfortable sticks, as well as much more accurate ones, for less money. I would love to see CH come back to where they were, and if they did, I would be first in line to buy their products. But I cannot recommend this stick to anyone in the current state of things, unless they have the technical skill to modify and repair it to make it work like it should. I gave it three stars only because of it's potential once rebuilt and repaired.
"Good Product", The easiset joystick I have ever flew with. The control is perfect. Highly recommended.
"Very solid stick", Bought this together with the rudders and throttle after many months of research. I'd previously had Thrustmaster F16 FLQS and F16 TQS and the FLQS had lost accuracy very quickly and didn't impress, so I wasn't in a hurry to buy the Cougar. I'd had a CH Flightstick years ago and still remembered that as a solid, no-nonsense controller that worked everytime.
The new generation of CH Products is just as good. This stick will last for a very long time, is solidly constructed and easy to program (just press the button on the controller and enter the key that you want to assign to it).
I haven't fully exploited the capabilities yet - as with all of these HOTAS sticks, it takes some time working out what you want to assign to each button. Perhaps some pre-supplied maps would have been nice.
"So you want a good stick?", This is a very good stick. Solidly built and the only things keeping this from a 5 star rating are these problems:
1. If you have never used the software for programming this stick or other CH Products before, be prepared to spend some time figuring it out. It is a real pain and there are easier ways of getting the results that you want. Read the CH forums for information on programming this stick.
2. The pinkie finger button near the bottom of the handle can be inadvertently pressed in the heat of combat. As a result, I found it better for myself not to program any actions to it.
3. The elevator and aleiron trim wheels are not easy to use in flight if your right handed as you have to reach across with your left hand to set the desired trim.
Other than these three items, this is the best stick I've ever used for air combat sims.
