"IC"
This game is awesome! There is more to it then you know. A site called icp.mednickonline.com or Impossible Creatures PLanet has downloads and other stuff to make this game better. They are new maps, mods, and creatures. Its a fourms site so read the rules and have fun playing IC. If you to play multiplayer beware of the flaming there and please do not insult anyone or you won't like it. Beware they will be better then you but over time u well get better I myslef is an "pro" but I'm not the best. Multiplayer is a great place to learn how to play the best vidoe game ever. You can talk to people from Germany(I myself do know someone), Austraila, and plenty more. If u go to icp.menickonline.com register on the site it's not a bade site. Make sure before you go online you know how to play the game. People have formed clans(groups) its would be like:example: _Spy_ that signifies your rank amoung the society. And if you see a _Spy_Sharpshooter, that's me.

"RTS Animal Classic"
Game type: Inexpendive, resouce gathering, networkable, RTS in very well rendered 3-D person (not fixed isometric).
Re-release date planned for 12/15/2004. Honestly this is really geared for pre-hormonal, but semi-violent teens. If your kids liked Pokemon, they will love this because after extracting the DNA from your travels you can not only combine the body parts of two animals, you can make an army of them and let them loose on your best friend. I think creatures like their pictures taken, as you can zoom in and around models in true 3-D space, and clicking on the camera makes them wiggle more. Combinations are not good/bad, but cost more/less which means the most powerfull player gets grumpy as they can't efford to build until much later in the game, making them vulnerable for attack by any five year old that just likes the way his creatures look. This makes game play more chaotic than any I've seen. Some may find you referring to your blackwidow-armadillo as cute before the day is over.

Cons:
- Proprietary on-line game network (on-line gaming not supported by GameSpy, EA Games, or even MicroSoft Game network).
- AI for the insect invasion mod was never finshed. You can't play against one person and two PC players.
- Not too much social redeming vaue, but if you were looking for that in a video game I would recommend you restart your search. Then again, there's no nudity or sex.
- Insect invasion over plays the value of chitin armor, making them way too strong.
- Limited access to the SDK (Software Development Kit) for developers and people with entirely too much time on their hands to make additional creatures from scratch. I'll bet like any maunufacturing company, they will kill the product line soon, and don't want you making new content w/out paying for it.

Pro:
- Free additional animal skins avaialble for download.
- Free insect skins available for download. (If you've ever wanted to let your son bring bugs in the house, this is the way to do it.)
- Creatures can be made to scale!! Most games/toys will only attempt to do this.

Hints:
1) Get a better video card.
2) Buy more memory or a better processor (Microsoft is even a memory hog with games production too).
3) Yes, if cost is a factor, you can always just turn off the anti-virus and use MS-CONFIG to end all extra tasks.
4) Not everything Relic touches turns to gold (who did they fire after Lords of the Realm III?)
5) Big kids should give a different rating to this than Warhammer 40,000

"Impossible Creatures"
Impossible Creatures, although no longer available in stores and only played online by a select few, is a great game. There is less "strategy" in battle, but the key is to make an excellent animal army by combining two of the available 50 animals (75, with Insect Invasion and the bonus creature unlocker, both downloadable for free) with the army builder feature. And don't be surprised if it takes a good hour to make an army just the way you want it.

This game is good for both noobs and RTS veterans, and is definitely worth the cost.

"I LOVE THIS GAME"
I love this game!!Especially making my army.I've made quite a few critters. This game is great. You will love your "pets"!

"Impossible Creatures"
This is an extremely easy, but fun game. Even though it is pretty easy, you can play the same mission over and over again. I beat the game on the hardest level about twenty times and didn't get bored. You can combine two animals together for a invinvible mutant army. It is much like Warcraft 3 or Armymen R.T.S. I highly recomend it for young and old players.

What our customer's say!

"Great game, poor support", Well, the game is a lot of fun, hence the reason for the 5/5 on the fun, but the overall score has to be lower because the patches released by the game developer (Relic) for additional content simply don't work. Apart from the annoyance on the patches not installing, the main game is fairly stable, but you cannot enjoy the free "Insect Invasion" expansion back because of the patch update issues. This game is fun and has a lot of potential, but alas it is very much DEAD in the support department.

"Impossible Creatures", Firstly, this game is RAD!
It is so AWESOME that you can design your own armies!
The campaign stinks.
It is too hard to beat the THIRD LEVEL!
It also is not very good because you can not get more buildings than in the DEMO!
The other and better animals in the full version give it a big bonus in my thoughts of this awesome strategy game.

"Imaginative idea, fun to play", This game boasts something that no other RTS can offer- mixing two different animal species into one amazing creature and then sending them to wage war against other freakish armies.

There are so many different animal combinations that every battle is different and new. You can mix a lobster with a ram, giving you an amphibious unit that can charge up beaches and gore foes with its horns. By combining an eagle with a piranha you can create a flying fish that swoops down on enemies, tearing them with those impressive piranha teeth. Add a polar bear's limbs upon the body of a killer whale and you have a large walking tank that can traverse both land and sea. These are just some of my favourite combinations and there are many more.

The idea of mixing the creatures and making your own fighting units, each with their own strengths and weaknesses is a very imaginative, fun and interesting concept, but this game is definitely not the best RTS around. For example, the maximum number of units your armies can comprise of is a mere 75- that's including workers (in this game called henchmen).

However, this game does introduce some other good points other than its imaginative selling point. Some animals, such as wolves, lions and hyenas are pack hunters and therefore, when fighting in groups of four or more, recieve an attack bonus. Similarly, as oxen, rams, elephants, etc, are herding creatures, when they are combined with other animals they gain a defense bonus when in attacking in groups. These are nice extras and also feature the skunk's 'stink cloud' capability to stun foes and the whales' 'sonar pulse' to reveal an area of the map momentarily.

The maps themselves are average, with players battling on either a snowy, grassy or arid desert-like maps, each comprising of land- sometimes separtated by water- dotted with areas of coal and geysers to generate electricity with certain structures.

Overall, this is a good game with a different, interesting selling point that will keep anyone amused even if they are not a fan of the RTS games.

"Great and Imaginative Game!", This game is a lot of fun, and it is really imaginative. I like mixing two creatures together and testing their strengths. Andrew, age 10

"Fun but impossible!", This game is a lot of fun. It doesn't have much reason to be rated Teen. This game takes lots of thinking. It is very fun to battle. I love this game!

"Impossible Creatures", I have played hundreds of computer, PS2, and Xbox games, but this is my all time favorite game for any console. You get to combine two animals into one animal with both of their strengths, and no weaknesses. This is fun, but not the the funest part. It is an R.T.S. game much like WarCraft 3 or Army Men R.T.S., and has an ecellent story-line. Now, on Microsoft.com/impossiblecreatures, they have twenty-five more animals to download. Not to mention the fifty animals you get in the game. This is the best game in the world!

"Great game for young and old!", My son and I have great fun mixing and matching creatures. Testing the high breads on the field can be very rewarding or very disappointing. Try the Sperm Whale and the Wolverine - 1500+ health points. Building your own maps is very rewarding. Deciding whether it should be each person for themself - teams - or taking on all the others by yourself is big fun too. Buy and enjoy - you won't regret it!

"Great game, Freaking Hard", I played this game, LOve it, i was following this game after i beat homeworld; back in the days when it was called Sigma. (which by the way was a much cooler name) I got this game when it came out last year, and i got to say it is really really cool, combining creatures is totally fun, but just like in homeworld, after you beat the first mission it get really freaking hard. well.. maybe after the first island, the second part i can't beat, i try and try. I'm currently trying to get my skills up to snuff by playing against the computer in 'player vs computer' mode. I played a really slow game the other night with a total disadvantage, and ending up playing for 2 hours and 45 minutes, i recorded a demo btw. I won the game, i felt so awesome, i won with a disadvantage and one of my weakest creatures. Since i was playing the free add on, Insect Invasion, i made this crappy army, i dont think i was thinking straight when i combined the Ant with the Termite, making a Termant; i didn't realise they were pretty much the same creature, i was looking for a cheap creature i could manufacture. That was the creature i one the game with. Now i think i'm ready to fianlly beat the second island; i'm so bad at strategy games i know.

Only thing is, I wish there were more animals to download, oh well; i guess i'll have to wait for those sweet mods to come out.

oh yeah, Shark + Scorpion all the way.

"Wargame with creativity that doesn't stop growing", Not only is this a spectacular game in creativity and strategy, but if you purchase it you can download free online expansions that give you more maps and creatures to choose from. It's not rated Teen for any reason other than the fact that you are fighting with your army. It's not gory or overly violent. I highly recommend it.

"Stellar idea, somewhat flawed execution", Strategy games, both real-time and turn-based, are my preferred genre of computer games. Sadly, there hasn't been much innovation in them since Starcraft added asymmetrical armies (i.e. each unit does not have a direct corresponding unit for another race). This game changes all of that. By allowing you to create your own units, a much greater range of flexibility is introduced (as one other reviewer pointed out, this is flexibility is not as great as the publisher claims, since a large percentage of the combinations would be fairly useless). Because the units are created from existing animals, the process of figuring out what you want to make is also pretty intuitive (e.g. poison frogs poison things, gorillas are big and have powerful arms, and so on).

Some reviewers complain about the relatively high cost of units and buildings relative to the availability of resources. This is true, but I see it as a positive thing. "Turtling" is not a valid strategy in this game. The single most important element at the macro level is expanding your resource gathering and preventing your opponent from doing the same. It also has a vital impact at the micro level as it now becomes very important to try and keep your critters alive and bandage them up after battles.

The graphics are all very good, although if you don't have a fairly new video card (something that was mainstream within the last 12-18 months), you'll find yourself having to drop the resolution or detail level to get acceptable framerates.

The game lacks some of the niceties that Warcraft III introduced to the genre - no hotkey to select idle workers for instance, and no choice of formation based movement vs. everybody-run-in-a-straight-line movement. The path finding at times is abyssmal.

The missions in the campaign are all real missions that will take at least half an hour, with many requiring more than an hour. This is much better than some of the missions in Warcraft III that can be completed in under ten minutes if you work hard and fast.

The cutscenes in the campaign are pretty much par for the course, but at least the developers seemed to realise that, so they are handled with a bit of self-deprecating humour.

Had it been an option, I probably would have given 3.5 stars. It isn't the greatest game ever, but you should get plenty of hours of enjoyment out of it without having to fork over the cash that some of the new releases require.
