What our customer's say!
""The War to end all Wars " Times Two (2x)", This game is a great multiplayer game that I have personally played continuously for about 1 1/2 months now and still going strong. Its got all the core ingredients of a good fps and a lot of elements that some some games for one reason or another leave out. Like for instance the use of vehicles, the ability to use ladders, ability to swim, and an open sandbox environment to name a few. Granted many multiplayer games use open maps yet battlefield 1942 does a good job of keeping the maps interesting yet uncluttered for easy movements and tactics, which increases the fun factor for online games dramatically.
The graphics in this game are slightly ahead of its time(for its time), if that makes sense. The game was made I believe in 2002 and the graphics and overall mechanics make it seem like it was made in late 2003 or early 2004. So expect for a slight downgrade in visuals when compared to modern games. Yet dont worry since the gameplay more than makes up for it.
All in all, this is a top notch EA game made by guys that know there WWII(medal of honor). So expect only the best, and don't hesitate to buy it.

"A timeless classic from EA", Battlefield 1942 started it all for EA and its very popular Battlefield series. I remember some time ago playing the demo for BF1942 and falling in love with it knowing it would become an instant classic.
In as much as BF1942 is its own animal, I recall seeing so much of what BF1942 and later BF2 are in the Desert Storm mod built for Unreal Tournament. It seemed back then that the marriage of the FPS and the war simulation were meant to be.
Although I do not play BF1942 much anymore, the game still stands the test of time and it is a worthwhile addition to any EA fans game library. And, I'm sure there are still diehard players out there who continue to play the game on a regular basis.
For nostalgic reasons I would recommend BF1942 to any current FPS gamer who likes the Battlefield series. And, from the perspective of how a great game should look, BF1942 sets the example by which all others should take heed. Though it may appear a bit dated by current standards, it is still a fun game to play.
"Armed Combat Multiplayer", Excellent online WWII battles.2 teams combat up to 64 players at one time,(32vs32)In this game there are tons of armor to choose from. You will be able to fly airplanes, helicopters,Drive tanks, missle lauching armored vehicles. And much more.I guess everyone knows a little something about the battlefield series.I think that this game is great not only because it is a nice, fun game to play, but you do not not a $400.00 video card and the newest, fastest computer on the market in order to play. The graphics are pretty good when you first install the game. But if you download the free mod (DesertCombat)The graphics improve and the game is very similiar to battlefield 2.
"4 Years old and still playing", This is a great game that still provides plenty of fun. Espeically for people who don't have they latest computers. Heck, I do, but I still play this awesome game!
In response to the person who said you need a 9800xt to play the game, AND a gig of ram. HA HA...but im sorry, no. I have a laptop with a 64 meg 9000 series card--not even full AGP speed, and not even a gig of ram, and I play the game at absolute max settings with NO LAG! By the way, my harddrive isn't even 7200rpm. Oh, and you don't need to have Sata to play any game. LMAO
Now yes, you DO NEED to have Atleast 512 megs of ram to play the game well. My old athlon 1.67 Ghz could play the game at low-medium laggy with 256 megs of ram and a crappy 128 meg geforce4 card...but it was horrible. Seriously, if you have an xp computer with less then 512ram, you're missing out on your windows experience.
"Excellent, But Not As Good As The MOH Series", I love this game. The action is fast paced, the vehicles are great, and the sounds are awesome! However, the graphics are not the best I have seen, and there is almost no story.
The instant action is really the best part of this game, and it is a blast. Honestly, this game is freedom! You can just walk up to any vehicle or weapon, and use it! I really thought that was fun.
Basically, if you are looking for a WWII FPS that relies heavily on action and explosions, this is your game. However, if you are looking for a game that appeals to your heart, brain, and gaming taste, give Medal of Honor a try.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"I ordered new", I ordered a new game so I could have the latest version but I got the first version which wont work with the mods I wanted it for. This is the last time I buy software from Amazon.
"Fun, but historicly accurate? not likely", Most reviews out there speak the truth, this game is loads of fun. The gameplay itself is good, the textures are great. But the weapons are horrible. The Red Army in the initial release lacks all of their own weapons, they use the Lee-Enfield No4, a British rifle, the M1A1 Thompson, an American SMG, the B.A.R, another American weapon, a support machine gun this time, the Bazooka, which historicly they did use, in small quantities and the Colt .45, an American pistol. The Americans have the Lee-Enfield as their rifle, and sniper rifle. The Japanese have all German weapons in the initial release. Now, not only did Dice, the developers, screw up the infantry loadout, they screwed up the existing weapons. The models are atrociously innaccurate, looking only vaugly like the real thing. Later releases fleshed out the weapon loadout a little more, adding one Russian weapon for the assault class, and one weapon for the Japanese assault class. More updates brought the M1 Garand for the Americans, but only for the Pacific theatre, and they of course screwed up the Garand aswell, putting the cocking handle on the wrong side of the gun, but it doesn't stop there, the reload animation is even more horrible, to load, the soldier's hand brings the Clip, pushes it straight down through the top of the gun with his thumb. Were that a real Garand, he would have been in a great deal of pain as the cocking handle would have slammed forward and crushed his thumb, not a pleasant experience. Aside from that, the Assault class, being the most common class, and also carries either the StG 44 (German) or the B.A.R (US), neither were commonly carried, the B.A.R was very very heavy, and the StG 44 wasn't readily available, especially in 1942. Further more, the weapon bullets are VERY slow, digging revealed the Colt .45 to shoot at 200 feet per second. AIRSOFT and PAINTBALL guns have a higher velocity. Such a velocity would be painful due to the weight of the .45 bullet, but it would neither pierce the skin nor kill. Several feet of lead to hit a target is necessary to hit someone over 200 yards. Artillery and Tanks also suffer from slow shots, the cannon of a tank is more like a Potato Gun, going through a high and visibly slow arc toward the target.
In short, Action gamers, this game is for you. History buffs, avoid this, its a WWII THEMED game, not WWII itself. Go play Call of Duty (Or the soon to be released Call of Duty 2), or even better, Brothers in Arms.
"This game is fun and personal", I love this game and its expansions. The fun is not in capturing the other flag or capturing all the control points, but its in getting there. And its personal cause its really everyone for themselves on the team except when you are bunched togther at a CP deflecting an offensive which has to be a team effort. Other then that you go go go, and try some Rambo style attacks on the enemy. Playing Kamikazee with your Jeep against their tank to slow them. Sniping from a good vantage point especially when you get one guy at his machine gun and his buddy also follows and its one long string of idiots who dont get a clue and try and sus me out before exposting themselves to my crosshairs. All I need is to get sniped once and I will resurrect as one as well and payback is glorius. It does get personal because sniping is very diffiult due to the distances so you wanna show whose king sniper to the other side.
One drawback and its not the game, its those stupid newbies or stupid oldbies who dont pay attention to whats going on, they never scan the horizon for snipers or approaching vehicles or aircraft. The sit around playing with their weapons completely oblivious to the greater good, bombs near othersy so you catch a hit and lose health, and they do it just for the hell of it, go figure. Usually, TKing be damed I will shoot these SOBS to stop the annoyance. And if anyone on the other team cheats such as using a clip cheat to hide within the scenery itself, inside boulders trees etc if the server or host wont correct the issue then I will by respawing on that persons team and capping them with a message as to why. I
"Best WW2 Game Ever", This is easily my favorite WW2 Game ever made.
I haven't even played online play yet, but I already like this game.
Whoever said they rather play Medal of Honor over a Single-Player game of this really has low standards. I'd rather play against an unpredictable army rather than the highly-predictable opponent in Medal of Honor. You can play Medal of Honor a hundred times, and the enemy AI will always be in the same spot. At least in a single player game of Battlefield 1942, the enemy opposition is constantly on the move. And no, the enemy is not lousy. I've played human opponents at Goldeneye who are 10x's worse than the AI opponents in Battlefield.
The only bad thing about this game is this: I just bought a brand new computer a few weeks ago, and I still can't run this game the way it was designed to be played. I have to limit the amount of bots, and I have tweak visibility (among a few other things) in order to run this game smoothly.
Also, when I bought the Anthology pack for Battlefield 1942, the packaging was incredibly pathetic. Why did the packagers not put these CDs into CD cases? Because of the crappy packaging, I've already scratched the back of Disc 1.
Anyways, I'd easily recommend this game to anyone who enjoys WW2-themed games. Yes, even if you don't play online, get this old game before it disapears from shelves.
"Single-Player isn't that great; it's the multiplayer that you want!", You should expect this to be a WWII game. Now your objectives is simple: destroy your enemy by taking the camps (or spawn points). This is a multiplayer game mostly rather than a CoD (Call of Duty) game.
Good: I really enjoyed playing the Allies because they were the heroes. I never really enjoyed playing the Axis as much. Don't just in the ESRB rating to have blood for there is no blood in the game. If you have a cable connection, you can start your own server online. I have a cable connection, so I can play a game with 64 players! You can have A.I in the game, but it is very exciting to have 64 players. You can also grab weapons from dead soldiers, drive and fry vehicles, and pick out many maps from real-time history. Also, Germans speak German, Japanese speak Japanese, Russians speak Russian, and Britsh and American speak English.
Bad: I have noticed that the weapons don't look as authentic because just because the title says "1942" doesn't mean it starts in 1942; Some levels start in 1941 while others in 1945 and so on. The guns are the problem because they weren't used in the war or something. But maybe the Allies sent weaponry to the Russians (Since they are carrying American and British weapons) It is the only explanation. But I have never seen a Japanese carrying an StG 44. They weren't even invented at that time. That is a German weapon; but hey, games will always have mistakes.
Ugly: You must have a good computer to have fun because it can lag a lot and have 64 players or lower can add excitment but annoyance at the computer slowing down. I don't really mind the lag (slowing down) but it can get annoying when taking pictures of the game. Also, you have some pretty foul-mouthed online players but not as bad as Halo and some of the previous shooters. Also a few Americans when killed will use the D-word sometimes, but it isn't the f-word at least.
I give this game 4/5 for foul-mouthed players, inaccurate weapons, and having to use cable to play online.
