"Great for laptops and travel, prefer a powered unit for a desktop ...", Simply put when it comes to travel and using my Sony Vaiao which only has two USB ports this is a great product. Remember to use the power on your laptop though as this is not powered (it does have a power adapter point)and if any of your tools needs usb pwer it will drain extrememly quickly.

Fairly large though and the cable is shorter than I use for the desktop, and hangs in mid air.

Oveall a good product for what it's designed, laptops ...

"Linksys USBHub Review",
This USBHub was extremely useful for my old Dell Laptop computer, which only had one USB port. Now, I can permanently connect my printer, backup disk drive and USB Mouse.
It was very easy to install and the short length of the connecting cable wasn't a problem for me.

"Excellent Product", Great product and works as advertised. Has plenty of spaced out usb ports. In case your usb devices are kind of wide.

"i don't like it", I don't like it, and had to go buy another one. the USB ports are too close together to be useful for me. I could not attach the broadband and printer, e.g., at the same time. I don't recommend it. There are a lot better ones on the market.

"I could not use it", I am not very knowledgable about computers. This turned out to be a USB hub and not a USB-2 hub which I required. Also the cord was much to short for my situation since I have no ports on the front of my computer. I gave it to my church rummage sale without opening it. The information was in the ad. I just didn't understand it.

"Works fine, but needs power cord", This little hub is a serviceable device. I needed it to add usb ports so I could run my laptop cooler while running other attached drives. It works fine for my printer and laptop cooler. However, it will not power an external usb hard drive. The optional DC power adapter is needed (model #USBHUB4PC) - sold separately, of course.

"No complaints", I actually purchased this for my landlady. She has a laptop and did not have enough USB ports to use her printer as well as her other USB devices. This hub was very quick and simple to set up. I tested it to make sure the printer & other devices worked fine. She has been using it for 3 to 4 weeks now, no complaints or problems so far!

"THIS IS usb 1.0 product", I can't believe I didn't catch it; this is a USB 1.0 hub and $18 is giant waste of money in 2008.... why are they still selling these!?? Anyone, incl. myself is a moron for paying $18 for a yester-year product. I autmatically assumed this is was 2.0 USB product.

"lacks power", This hub doesn't work with my headset or ipod. It needs a power adapter, which I haven't been able to find. Utterly useless without it.
