"Good tips, but why are the lessons not taught with an acoustic guitar?", I liked the verbal sincerety and clarity of the instructor. His teaching style and playing command are inspiring, and for this I would give him 5 stars. I did get good tips from him that I now have to just practice as much as possible. The fact that the instructor taught his lessons with a Fender electric guitar throughout the DVD was a big turn off for me and unfortunately weighs quite a bit on my overall rating. I wish the DVD cover would not mislead customers, and I wisk that other reviewers had commented on this, as it would have changed my decision to purchase this DVD.

"Excellent Teacher, well done video", I based my purchase on the reviews of some of the other buyers, and since I agree with them in substance, I'll be brief. Keith Wyatt (the instructor) is indeed clear, well spoken, and precise in both his technical descriptions and his suggestions for application of the skills he discusses. However, the other reviews don't mention that he's just a likeable guy. He's sincere and approachable, without being nerdy or sappy.

He comes across as someone who's played more than his share of concerts, who's sat in countless studios, and who has never stopped learning his craft for even a single day. He's just a cool dude.

"A great way to get started with Acoustic Guitar!", This DVD is exceptional! Keith Wyatt does a great job of putting you at ease and walking you through all of the basics of playing the acoustic guitar. The Rock, Blues and Country practice songs are great! You can follow animated tabulature or an animated fretboard (very cool) while you play along with the band. The tracks repeat continuously so you don't need to restart the music you just jump back in at the beginning. I highly recommend this!

"Excellent Product", This is a great product for a beginner guitarist. I've been playing for about 4 years (not very well, I might add) all self taught until now. This DVD is extremely easy to follow, navigate and learn from. It's fixed some of my bad habits. The practice tracks are virtually the same for a lot of the things you learn, which is kind of boring, but that also makes it easier to follow, so take the good with the bad.

"Keith Wyatt is THE BEST - Twice!", I first bought Fender's Getting Started on Accoustic Guitar 3 yrs ago. Keith Wyatt's teaching style is unsurpassed - you cannot find a better instructional DVD for guitar. I ended up giving that DVD to my daughter's boyfriend along with my guitar! Recently, I got another guitar and searched for the same DVD by Fender and Keith Wyatt but since I could not remember it's title, cover or Keith Wyatt's name, I was unable to find it. I bought several guitar lesson DVDs at a variety of websites, hoping to find one that I could learn from. None of them compared to the lessons by Keith Wyatt. Disappointed, I searched one more time just trying to find a good, useful, instuctional DVD. At Amazon I selected the Fender DVD without even knowing it was the one I had been looking for all along. The description alone caused me to buy it again and when the DVD arrived, I was pleasantly surprised when I popped it in and found Keith Wyatt there again! Keith teaches everything from how to hold the guitar and even the pick, to tuning to first chords and the lessons build from there. The DVD contains practice tracks that Keither directs the student to work with after each lesson. It's great! You can tune the guitar to the DVD and you can practice chords and techniques to live music. With Keith Wyatt, the student is making and learning music from day one! If you are a beginning accoustic guitar player - look no further. This is the DVD for you. If you are more advanced or playing electric guitar, use Keith Wyatt as the key words in your searches - he has a number of DVD's on the market to help players at all levels.
