"Love It"
It is truely wonderful. For the price you pay, you get loads of predesigned layouts and there are so many graphics and backgrounds to create endless collages and cards. If you liked Sierra Print Artist, you'll love this. It is very simple to use. I give it two thumbs up. The only reason I think that some others have posted bad reviews is because maybe they just haven't played around with it enough to learn how to use it correctly. It never makes my computer freeze up either, I know someone mentioned that in their review. Hallmark backs this product and if you don't like it you can get your money back, so why not try it. I am sure that any cropper will love it!

"Worth it for the Clipart..."
I too had the same trouble with the photos being distorted, or not being able to edit them into shapes. But I also have Art Explosion Scrapbook Factory Deluxe and I can use the clipart from the Hallmark program there (go to Import: Graphic and then browse for your Sierra Hallmark folder in the drop down menu). There is no simple way to search the grahics other than look at every one in the list, but you get Hallmark's awesome backgrounds and characters in Art Explosion's user friendly format.

"Great product!"
Product is fun and easy to use with great scrapbook templates to choose from. It was easy to bring in my digital photos and layer them with the templates (so the photos no longer looked square but fit with the frames).

"It keeps "freezing""
I just bought this software today and can't tell you how disappointed I am with it. It installed just fine, but every time I try to work on one of the templates it "freezes" in the middle of loading and crashes my computer. This is the most frustrating experience I've EVER had with ANY kind of software, I've even tried uninstalling and re-installing and it still does the same thing. I have the Hallmark Card Studio and loved it, but I can't believe this program is made by the same people. This one's going back to the store as fast as I can drive!

"Great software! READ THIS TO FIX THE PHOTO PROBLEMS!"
To anyone deciding whether or not to buy this, first of all, it is made by Sierra, so it works like Print Artist does. So, if you like Print artist, then this will be easy for you to use. This software, like Print Artist, lets you change the colors of the graphics, which I love. This software includes beautiful predesigned projects, the especially great ones are the baby themes, holiday themes, and heritage themes. The graphics included in the predesigned projects can be replaced with other graphics if you want to.

The bad part about this software, just like Print Artist, is when you put photos in, it resizes it to fit the box, which means most of the time it will be distorted in some way. The only solution I have found is to edit your photos first, which means if you click on the square or rectangle, the bottom right hand corner will tell you the size of that rectangle. So then, you go resize it in a photo editing software by either making it that exact size or something equivalent to that size. So, if the box is 3in. x 4in., then you can use that size or 4.5in x 6in(1.5 times original) or 6in. x 8 in (2 times original) or anything else equivalent. This process might seem too hard at first, but after you get used to it, it goes pretty fast. This seemed to be the big problem for people, and for the price of the software, I think it is totally worth it even if you have to take that extra step for photos.

I don't usually print out photos in the photo spots, because I print the pages on cardstock (or matte photo paper), and you don't get great photos when printed on cardstock, so I cut out the spot for the photo and then put a printed or actual photo behind it. The great graphics include: realistic looking fabric and stiching, buttons, and gorgeous backgrounds. Plus the Hallmark fonts that come with it are great- I use them all the time in my scrapbooks. Totally worth it!

"It's good for graphics but that's about it", It is so frustrating because you can't work a 2 page spread with the two pages side by side. I've only used this for printing out some clip art and/or sayings and such. And when I've used it for a full page layout, it always leaves a 1/2 inch boarder around the edges of white...I know that's a printer issue but it's still annoying. I would never use it for a full page layout.

"Agree with waste of time and money", If you are planning to use with digital photos, don't get this one. You must actually do the cutting to place photos. Has a lot to it but most is useless if you plan to design and print with your pictures.

"So disappointed...", I saw this in the store the other day and thought what a wonderful idea!! Considering the Hallmark name, I thought it had to be decent. I hate it. I put in the time to learn how to use it. I have a technical bachelors degree and work in the IT field, so you'd think I'd be computer savvy enough to use this. I have hundreds of digital photos and was quite upset to see the note in the instructions to only use the square or retangular templates with digital photos. What??!! That makes it useless to me. $20 down the toilet.

"Not so good", I was very anxious to receive the Hallmark Scrapbook Studio. The day it came in the mail, I installed it on my computer only to find it did not work. Each time I tried to use a pre-designed template, my computer would crash. I was unable to use the software even after contacting Sierra for advice. My computer exceeds the operating requirements yet the software did not work. I would not recommend this software.

"I can't recommend this application.", Despite the higher quality clipart/graphics (I can't deny that Hallmark has some REALLY nice stuff in there!) the ways in which this application "simplifies" things just aren't friendly or functional. Just frustrating.



 
Read this reviews before You buy...

"Terrible Program!!", This program does NOT say on the box that it only supports rectangle and square digital pictures. In fact, when looking at the box, it clearly shows ovals and specialty shaped photographs plopped right on the templates! Once you have opened the program and installed it, only THEN do you discover such is not available.

It is neither fast, easy, nor fun to print and cut when you want to E-MAIL something on a template. UGH. Do NOT waste your money on THIS Hallmark program. The Hallmark name should not have gone on this.

It's not even ONE star---it's a TURKEY.

"Very Disappointed-Stay Away!!", I was so happy to get this, but then so disappointed. I have all the Hallmark Card programs, and love them.I thought you could import your phtos, and they would fit right into the shapes of the templates,like the photo projects in the card programs, but they don't, and it's a pain to try to get them to fit in just right, and then they look distorted.I think it also caused problems with my other Hallmark programs because I'm having gliches there that I didn't have before.

"Very Dissapointed", Why would you want to buy a scrapbook program where you have to print out the pages, cut holes for the pictures, then lay the template over your photos? You wouldn't! This software does not place the picture behind the template frame like almost every photo program has been doing for years. It's utterly absurd that to make scrapbook pages in this software you have to crop your photo to the frame and try and get it to fit exaclty and try to maintain aspect ratio mannually. I'm amazed at how nice the templates are and how bad the software is. This one is going back!
