"great product"
I had one of those ball mouse and this is a dream to use. I don't know why i put up with my old one for so long.

"The only mouse design that is actually PERFECT."
Reliability:
I recently bought another one of these after 7+ years of a flawless experience. I am a graphic designer, computer artists, and a gamer, so 7 years of hard use seemed more than reasonable before it just recently became less reliable. My other intelli-optical mouse that I bought for a different computer at the same time is still kick'n without flaw.

Design:
Good for lefties and righties, but more importantly it's shape and button placement is superior to any other mouse I have ever used or owned (which has been quite a lot). Clicking action feels solid and NOT "plastic-e" like so many other models (including wacom's intuos 3 mouse). Very smooth movement and good weight. I normally do not especially like microsoft, but some one there did a good job with THIS mouse. Maybe they got lucky.

"Best mouse I've ever owned!"
First, I have to say that I've been using this mouse for the past 4 years. When I change computers, I take this mouse with me. Its light weight and ergonomic design fits comfortably in my hand. I love the forward and back buttons for web browsing. Life on the internet is so much easier. People have their preferences and may think it too light or bulky, but I guess I am biased because it is all I use. The only thing I would replace it with is a reliable, wireless version.

"I still love this design with my Mac!"
I use my Mac full-time to make a living and when ever I get a new Mac workstation, I try to use the mouse that comes with it. But the Apple mouses only last about six months while the Microsoft Mouses last about two years. The Apple mouse has a shape and pressure points that cause my finger tendons to get sore.

The Apple Mighty Mouse has the same shape as the previous Apple mouse designs that caused soreness in my hand.

Four years ago, I started using the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical Mouse. It fits just right in my hand and keeps my hand from getting sore and uncomfortable.

I used to get the Intellimouse for $15.00, new, but it is in demand these days and it is hard to get one for under $30.00, after shipping costs are added.

I still go with the Microsoft Intellimouse, for my Mac desktop and Mac laptop, when ever is is time to get a new mouse.

"Mouse"
This is a solid mouse. I have used it for years. This is the second one I have bought.

What our customer's say!

"Excellent", My first gaming optical mouse. Excellent mouse, still working after a few years of hard work :)

Was replaced by a more advanced Logitech MX500, but still use it constantly. It rocks!

"the only Microsoft product I like", I've used this mouse for decades. My current Intellimouse is over 10 years old, and still works beautifully. It's comfortable in my hands (I wear a ladies' size small glove, for reference). It's very accurate and smooth. The five buttons are great - they make surfing so much faster, and because they're programmable, I can find a use for all five in almost every program. It blows people's minds when they watch me navigate because I can do things without them seeing it just by clicking a button on the mouse, rather than going to a menu or the keyboard.

I have several Macintoshes and once had a Windows laptop. The Intellimouse works well on all of them. It does require a downloaded driver, but it's a small price to pay for this kind of functionality.

"I Replaced My Abused Intellimouse.", I'm a hard core gamer, the left button on my mice gets thrashed. It took three years , but the left button started to double click on it's own, so I retired it to backup status (I can always program the middle button for single click).
I like the MS Intellimouse, it's rugged (really), quick, never gives me "jumping cursor syndrome", and, I like wired opticals. Love the 5 buttons.

"Great mouse and no hassle", Like most I run through computer mice and other pointing devices on a regular basis. Long ago I gave up the ball mouse for an optical version. This one's nice in that you can program all the controls for your preferences or leave it at default as it came from the factory.

When surfing or doing work, knowing you can just slighly move a finger or thumb and go back or forward a website, or forward or back a page in a document you're working on, very nice.

One of the better features is the scroll wheel. Like most, you can program it for how fast scolling will be (light speed or a slow crawl) but when you depress the wheel all the open windows adjust on your desktop, all displayed. Now all you need to do is move to the one you want to work on, click it and ta da, that's now the active window...wait, not the right one? Not a problem, click the scroll wheel again and you're right back to all the open windows displayed, pick another.

Lightweight, sturdy, good choice for those who don't want to change batteries all the time.

"best mouse i ever used", I think this is the best mouse i have ever used and everybody I let use it buys one. I like that it has 5 button so you can go back and forward when surfing the web. In program button to do shortcuts,

"great mouse, great price, no reason to ever look at another mouse again, this is it", this mouse rocks. feels right, and the extra thumb/pinky buttons are great for webpage fwd/back navigation. it's simple and cheap. works left or right handed. perfection. there is no reason to ever buy another mouse, this kills all those weirdly shaped awful "ergonomic" mice that sell above $50 by logitech etc... this mouse is great!

"Still My Favorite Mouse!", I gave my first Intellimouse Optical to a wheel-deprived family member - I immediately realised how much I miss the mouse.

I'm ordering a new one for myself today.

This is a comfortable mouse for either hand. I find the left and right buttons ideal for internet browsing, and the useful wheel is of good quality and doesn't miss a beat.

"Poweful and flexible mouse", I have three CAD operators who use these and love them for their flexibility. They use four different CAD programs and are able to program the mouse buttons to make their jobs easier in each program. The mouse seems fairly durable and holds up well under daily use.

"revolutionized how I web surf", Back in 2000 or so, I bought this mouse while in college. It completely changed how I surf because of the extra (programmable) buttons. Ever since, I only rarely use the control bar at the top of most web apps. (forward, back, and refresh buttons).

Cons:
-Apparently the chords are tasty to cats (why I'm back on Amazon buying another one)
-It's lightweight and on non-level surfaces (your legs, your couch, your cat) when you let go, it may move on its own. On desks: it stays pretty stationary)
-After 4 years or so of daily use, the buttons start to get shiny.
-May take some getting used to, especially if you have used a different layout multi-button mouse. Although it's very easy to transition from the standard 3 button.
-I'm so addicted to the button layout, I can't use many other mice without some temporary frustrations in web surfing.

Pros:
-Great for all hand sizes (I'm 6'1" big guy and my wife is a petite 5'4" we both love it)
-Lightweight so it keeps your hand/wrist from getting terribly tired when officework/homework doesn't ever seem to end.
-I've used it on win 98, me, 2000, and xp, flawlessly.
-It tracks wonderfully, even on the leg/couch/cat listed above. (Yeah, my cat's pretty fat and lazy except when eating my mouse cord)
-The severed chord makes a great cat string-type toy.
-The leftover (now cordless) mouse makes a great paperweight/desk decoration/prank mouse when filled with sand.

If you're due a mouse upgrade, you can't beat the price or reliability. I'm looking forward to another 5 years with this great mouse. (as long as I can keep my cat away from it)

"Mouse review", The mouse works great. Like the buttons that let you go back or forward.
