Others say...

"good service, good product"
I researched this product, and found out it was perfect for my new plasma tv, new stereo system etc., "media center". The product was available and "shipped free", it arrived in plenty of time for "hooking up" and worked flawlessley. I received e-mails confirming the order and then confirming the shipping date. The service and products from amazon is refreshing and head and shoulders above, when compared to some other sites I had dealings with, I definetly will purchase from Amazon again.

"Simple and efficient"
This product is great. It has plenty of sockets and I especially like the protective covering over them.

"Solid well made Surge Protector"
Tripp lite makes some of the best surge protectors. This one is as good as they get.

"Appears to be good-quality product"
Can't say much about a product like this until lightning strikes, but it does appear to be well-constructed; has a solid feel to it. Like many other people, I needed the room for transformer-equipped electronics, but they didn't seem to be available when I bought my first surge protectors. I bought this model and Tripp-Lite's next to top-of-the-line Home Theatre surge protector at the same time to replace older, lower-joule-rated models. Am happy with both at this time.

Phone, ethernet, and cable outlets are well-placed for me, but I might prefer the power cord exit in a different location, perhaps out of the bottom of the case, since I have both of my units wall mounted.

I did a few hours of research before I settled on these. Tripp-Lite seems to have the best overall price/quality ratings from users on other forums. Most others, with the possible exception of Belkin (which are not quite as asthetically pleasing) do not have the joule ratings of Tripp-Lite. Then there's Monster....totally overpriced for the protection you get.

"Tripp Lite Rocks!"
....like I said, it rocks. I live in the lightening capital of the Earth (Florida) and these surge protectors are a necessity.

What our customer's say!

"surge protector with confidence", This surge protector has room for everything I want to plug in. It has one light that confirms it's grounded and another light that says protected. I chose this brand because the computer guy at work told me that this company is very good about replacing surge protectors that don't work. I feel good about this purchase.

"Great Buy!", The salesman sold me the Monster Protector, $$$, for my LCD TV. I checked on Amazon, bought the Tripp Lite. I am very pleased and returned the over-priced Monster :) Although it is unlikely that any surge protector will prevent a direct hit, this looks like a quality surge protector, with guarantees if your equipment is damaged.

"Two is better than one", A powerful receiver, sub, big screen TV and all the periferial components often require more Amps than a standard 15 or 20 Amp circuit can provide. It is better to use two circuits. A single, expensive, surge protector/suppressor can not do this. The long cord and price of this (more than competent)unit makes "bi-circuiting" easy and affordable. I have had two for many years and just picked up a third. Well built, the older units are still, as new. I have not been surged. Others have stated that they are effective.

"Nice Unit", After our second major lightning strike in less than a year, I decided to buy top notch surge protectors for all my electronics. After reviewing several brands and models, I decided on two of the Tripp Lite and two Belkins. I chose the Tripp Lite because of its on/off switch, although I found out after they finally arrived that the Belkins do have a power switch on the end. The units are made of high quality plastics and the recepticles have individual covers to keep the dust and dirt out. A nice feature, and one they should have applied to the phone and ethernet jacks as well as they are harder to clean. The unit comes with a nice long heavy duty cord. The models I recieved had the flat angled plug on the end, and personally I think they are a nuisance. The Tripp Lite 810NET will protect all of your electronic devices and connections. Besides power, the unit has a phone jack set, an ethernet RJ45 jack set, and a coax connector set. So no matter how you connect, your covered with these units. Installation was simple and no different than a regular power strip. The units I purchased and recieved were supposed to come with all the cables, IE: A 5' Cat 5 Patch Cable, a 5' Coax Patch Cable and a 5' phone line. Someone stole the Cat 5 cable from one, and the Coax cable for the other. My only other beef was that it took 4 weeks to get the items. Now I did select free shipping, and both the Belkins and Tripp Lite were both stocked, sold and shipped by Amazon at the time. It was a little over 2 weeks before I even got my shipping notice. Even for free shipping, this was poor service.

"Works great", Little to write yet - we have pretty dirty power, and I am waiting to see if it can deal with our occasional surges. So far, it has done well on a couple.

"It really works!", Bought one for my Dad for his computer a while back. Lightening hit a tree next to his house and a fork jumped to his roof (blew a bunch of shingles off). It ruined his TV, phone, a couple of radios and a bunch of lights. Ruined the surge protector too but it did its job, his computer was fine. Tripp Lite replaced the surge protector for free. A great product.

"Ideal for 8 outlets", I really did look around and unless you're looking for something that does line conditioning (making sure the voltage is constant), this is the choice for you. A real line conditioner gets you up to $100+.

Pros:

Black (white looks dirty after a while)
Room for bulky transformers (de rigeur at this point) ***
Good brandname - we use this brand for top of the line computer equipment.

Cons:

Does anybody really use the coax or the phone or the ethernet protectors? My theory is that coax goes to the cable box (not mine) and that ether/phone couldn't carry a surge big enough to kill the modem (not mine either). I'd like to not have the extra space consumed by these jacks but presumably somebody wants this protection. Not really a con since some people probably use this.

If there's an engineer out there - people would definitely buy a surge protector that had a non-plastic cord. The high end braided/cloth cords (I presume they're made out of some sort of resin) are so much better. I see them on high end audio cables but rarely electric cabling. Surely, such a thing could be made and it would be much better than stiff plastic.

"gets the job done", good price, fast shipping. You can go crazy with these surge protectors and these sales guys will sell you the most expensive one. This product give you great protection at a great price.
