"not horrible for the price", I was happy with the cassette adapter initially. I use it for my ipod and the sound quality is much better than the fm transmitter i was using. But after just a few uses, when inserting the cassette, the stereo gives an error saying "check tape" and i have to eject and reinsert the cassette several times before it works properly.

"The Best Yet", I have had about 6 tape adapters for my car. Most of them wear out because one side of the double wire cord detaches from the other. This one only has one cord, so it's not even possible for that problem to occur. Try this one, you will not be disappointed.

On a side note, I personally prefer these over the FM transmitter ones (which are much more expensive) because the FM transmitters rely on the strength of your signal. My car gets horrible FM reception, so they are a waste of my money. If you have a tape player, I highly recommend this product. The cord gives perfectly crisp sound, even if it is a slight annoyance.

"Vast improvement over an FM transmitter", I originally bought a Road Trip FM transmitter for using my iPod in the car. It was a disaster, at least for where I live and travel (Boston-NY corridor), because there are few "free" frequencies that do not receive interference from adjacent stations. In addition, as I traveled, stations would fade in and out, requiring me to change the frequency frequently: A real safety hazard when driving. Finally, I do not believe that the Road Trip broadcast in stereo; sound quality was mediocre at best.

This cassette adapter changes the paradigm. Sound quality is excellent (to my surprise), it's a cinch to use, and it costs a fraction of what an FM transmitter costs. Only downside is that it doesn't charge the iPod, but I retained my Road Trip unit to accomplish this.

Highly recommended.

"Brings out harmony's in songs", I bought this because my old one for my car broke. I browsed around before i got this, but every place seemed so expensive. This was the cheapest one, & Sony is a reputable brand.

Anyways, this adapter REALLY brings out the harmony's, base & background noises in songs. It sounds amazing~ For the price & the quality of sound, I am incredibly happy with it (The general quality was better in my old one, but for the harmony's this one brings out, I believe I would choose this one over my old one. I love my harmony's~).

Possible Problems:
I would think that some people would hate (statement above) though, since the main vocalist is at the the same volume level as harmony's, therefore making it a bit difficult to hear the singer. If you don't have your car settings right, or if you have a "bad copy" of a song on your mp3 player, you will hear some white noise in the background as well (but its so small, you hardly notice it at all. Nothing a few tweaks of the car radio settings wont fix). Dust can also affect the sound quality of the music (It will sound REALLY uneven when this happens). I found the culprit is dust on the tape heads. A trick I learned as a child NES player when dust ruins game play is also applied to fixing this cassettes problem; Blow gently on the tapes head to remove dust quickly & sufficiently.

"Better than Monster", I used to have a Monster adapter, this one is much better. Very quiet and functional.

"Works well in my car", I use this during long trips in my car to plug my laptop in to the car's tape player, and listen to iTunes music over the car's speakers. It sounds better than live radio or cassette tapes.

I haven't had any problems with it, as long as you don't insert it into the tape player upside-down (it seems to work only in one direction, so you might need to hit the Side-A/Side-B button on the car's tape player to see which direction is correct). Sometimes you need to jiggle it to get it aligned properly when you first insert it into the cassette player, but after that, it works well, with very clean sound.

"Sony Cassette Adapter is great", It works great. Easy as pie. Much better than my FM transmitter, which runs down batteries way too fast, and is never clear, always staticky. This is clear as can be, and all you have to do is put the tape in the tape player and plug it up to your mp3 player, etc. I'm very happy with this inexpensive and easy product. :)

"Sony CPA-9C", While its not unusual for cars nowadays to have a plug for an iPod, my 7 year old BMW didn't have one. I was faced with the option of retrofitting one (which was possible and would allow the steering wheel controls to control the iPod) or simply using the Sony CPA-9C to go via the on board tape deck (and not be able to manipulate the iPod from the steering wheel). The Sony option was 20x cheaper! At that price it was worth just trying it out.

I have to say it works really well. Putting the iPod volume higher than 3/4 causes distortion, but I find I can permanently leave it at 1/2 and the BMW radio amplification is more than sufficient even when you really want it loud. A small amount of engine whine comes through, but only on really soft parts - and I can't say the quality of the BMW sound system is good enough to make one really care. Otherwise sound quality is fine, and is close to the quality of the on board CD player.

All in all, a really good value for money purchase and I would recommend it to anyone. Even if you decide on a more expensive option, this one's so cheap it warrants a try.

"Doesn't work with Toyota Camry", This product does NOT work in a Toyota Camry cassette player. Thumbs down. Sound will get through but loud clicking noises predominate and destroy any usefulness whatsoever.

Have been using it for past 2 months with my Sandisk 1GB MP3 player, works like charm. So far no issues.
