"Ripoff", This is so poor, it shouldn't be given away. The screen savers are excellent but require heavy use of the CPU. The games are only partial and require further investment for the complete version. Quite a rip off and disappointment from an otherwise satisfied Microsoft customer.

"What did I just pay for?", I don't get this, in Plus 98 you get a whole bunch of themes and other stuff - in Plus XP you get nothing - well you get a couple of thems! I cannot believe I paid for this - I uninstalled this and returned it for store credit - this is not worth $19.99 or $12.99 it is worth $1.99 - if you want some more themes for Windows XP look around on the internet for FREE ones and save your money!

"Not Worth Buying!", While the idea behind this product is great, it just doesn't come out that way in the end. I recently upgraded my video card to GeForce 4 MX 5200, and now the Plus! screensavers (i.e. the aquarium and others) do not display correctly.

The games are okay, but only the Labyrinth is worth playing. There is a link on Microsoft's website to download for free more bonus levels for Labyrinth, but everytime I download the free upgrade, the levels never get installed into the game. The download .exe file is a self-extractor, so there's no way to control it. I have tried to get the extra free levels three times now, and it NEVER works!

If you want the aquarium screen saver, buy the boxed version from SereneScreen! It is EXACTLY like the one in Plus! and only costs $19.oo! This is what I did last week, and the SereneScreen aquarium screensaver works fine on my computer with the new graphics card!

Someone in another review said that Microsoft Plus! was a good example of "bloat-ware". I agree 100% -- lots of pretty packaging, lots of hype, lots of teaser write-ups on the box, but in the end there just isn't much to the package.

"I am not happy with this item", I purchased this item thinking it would be lovely to have an aquarium. There are only 3 fish and one plasters itself to the left side of the screen so its head is not visible and stays there. If you want more fish you have to buy another $20 item and still only 3 fish at a time on the screen. The blurb on the additional software says you can have 7 fish at a time but that is not the case you can choose 7 but only 3 will appear on the screen at once, which is deceptive in my book. The lack of complexity and detail is extremely disappointing, themes on 98 were much better IMHO. If you are into the media player then this is a great item, but the games are kind of boring in their sameness and the biggie is dancing people. I'm not into dancing people nor the media player. I am not at all happy with this item.

"Not worth it!", I personally was among the first person who tested and used Windows XP products in my firm. Though Windows XP professional impressed me with bunch of feature improvement, Plus! for XP was very disappointed. Program itself offered you a lot fo dazzy-pazzy toys but lack of useful features. McAfee Anti-virus was the only one found to be useful, despite being inferior to Norton Anti-virus. Games and Wallpapers/Screen savers may give you some excitement but fading in just few weeks. I also found digital audio tools useless since everybody can get Windows Media Player 9 for free (download) with more features and WMA converter is also not interesting and versatile, compared to MP3.

My suggestion is Microsoft should incorporate Plus! to Windows XP itself (esp. Home edition if they want to target Home user)...

"Wait for the Freeware Version", Although PLUS! has some useful features, it is nothing more than a Sampler CD or Glorified Advertisement tool Microsoft uses to get you hooked into having to purchase more "Add On" packs for the games and the screen savers. Read the package carefully, you initially get a couple of levels for the games before you have to purchase the rest. But with any product, this is my opinion, so you will have to form your own opinion. If I had to do it again, I would not have spent the money elseware.

"Software excellent, ...", Software includes some good SAMPLES of computer games, decent themes, cd labels/insert creator and such. I would recommend this item if you want something to play around with on your computer. But don't expect something wonderful and very useful. You get what you pay for I suppose...

"I paid for this?", This is sort of a wast of money is your not gonna burn 1,000,000 CDs and want labes for all of them, and/or if your an MP3 junkie.

"It's not worth the money.", I hate to say that after reading the many negative reviews here I gave Plus! a chance anyway because I thought that the negative reviews may have just been reflecting the "I hate Microsoft" attitude. I like Microsoft and their products and felt that this might be a welcome addition to a great operating system.
I was wrong. What a terrible waste of money. It is one big advertisement for 3rd party vendor's software with a couple of extra themes for Windows. The themes are why I gave it 2 stars instead of one. I can't believe how low that is of Microsoft to put this on the market for its loyal consumers.
I still like Windows XP but it was just fine before Plus! Save your money unless you don't mind spending some money for a few extra themes.
