"Useful Tool for Creating Scrapbook Pages"
This program is easy to use, and helped me create a custom scrapbook page with little effort. One caveat: Once you select a size template, be certain to check the result with "print preview" before you expend any effort. I had trouble getting the first page I created to print in 12 x 12 size on a 12 x 12 sheet of paper. However, I called tech support. The first rep didn't help much, but then I got a follow-up call from Derek, who had gone to the trouble of downloading my Canon S9000 printer's driver! Together, we got the print function going and produced a perfect page. It's really refreshing to find a software outfit that really cares about the results its customers are getting! It is too bad that the templates supplied with this program are so cutesy and schmaltzy, and that more background "paper" isn't supplied. But if you start with a blank template, hey, it's a clean slate and you can let your imagination run wild. It'll let you drop in your pictures and graphics wherever, and help with the lettering for titles and journaling.

"well worth purchasing"
There weren't many reviews out there when I first started looking, so I was a little afraid to try it,but I'm completely satisfied. It's especially nice for creating colorful fun scrapbooks for children; that's when the cartoonish clipart comes in handy. I think most people are used to clipart not exactly looking like art-gallery artwork,so I'm not disappointed at all with the clipart. The tutorial is wonderful; I highly recommend using it to get started. The manual doesn't go into as much detail as the tutorial. After creating scrapbooks from scratch and doing lots of cutting and pasting, I really appreciate being able to do it electronically. You have to do some eye-balling of the template frames to make sure you have the right picture to fit adequately into the template; after a while, it becomes very easy to do. I loved being able to have the software "cut" my photo into a circle; just make sure you don't try to put a wide-rectangle photo into a circle. Just as when you try to do it with a pattern when you are doing your own cutting, it won't work. I have been showing many people my completed scrapbook pages,and they are all amazed at how well they look.

"Good at its main task, but a little frustrating sometimes."
Of the scrapbook applications I've played with, this one is a favorite. It has straight-forward features and it produces handsome scrapbook pages and other simple projects with a generous variety of clipart, borders, and fonts. Frustrations include 1) the inability to crop the clip-art (only photographs can be cropped) and 2) the inability to do anything interesting with color-changing and clipart. i.e. If you change the color of a piece of clipart, it doesn't "colorize" (turn into shades of the color you picked). Instead, it does an opaque fill of the clipart, leaving just a blank silhouette. At this point, the 'Undo' features are very handy! In any event, provided you have another application to do anything subtle with your clip-art or your photographs, this application is fantastic for fun, simple pasteboard projects where you create layouts and print or save. Even the HTML export seems reliable. I wouldn't call this application excellent, but it's quite good!

"awful graphics & clipart"
Program is easy enough to use, but I am very disappointed with the graphics & clipart. Since it advertizes over 10,000 graphics I figured there would be something I liked - but it is all cheap cartoonish graphics. Nothing for the sophisticated look I was hoping for. It will not let me import graphics from other programs- so I am stuck with these cheap cartoon things.

"Great!"
I found this program to be very fun. Some have commented on poor templates and not looking further--look further. It is what you make of it. I have created many pages from scratch, using their backgrounds or creating new ones. They have enough clip art/fonts/borders for most tastes. I like the fact that I can fade objects, etc... Doing all this on the computer and being able to change something with just a click is a plus for me.

"Awful", I am extremely displeased with this product. The software is anything but "user friendly" and the graphics are extremely cheesy. Any attempts I made at developing a scrapbook page were foiled due to extreme frustration with the program. Overall, the product needs a drastic update and I am disappointed with my purchase.

"great program", To those with print quality issues: IT'S YOUR PRINTER or PRINTER PREFERENCE SETTINGS. There is a lot of flexibility and creative potential with this software. It's also easy to use...my 10-yr.-old who never saw it before, jumped right in and is creating terrific pages! Can't beat it for the price.

"No 12x12 printing", I bought this program because it had 12x12 design and printing capabilities. I have a new wide format printer, I would like to utilize it's features. No matter how I set it up, it won't print 12x12, makes nice 8.5x14 or 8.5 x 11. Supports answer, change my graphics card. Sorry I have more elaborate programs than this that print fine. It even has difficulty converting to PDF for printing. I had purchsed this program and the Publisher Pro to check them out, they had rebates available, well it's been months and NOTHING RECEIVED, so don't hold your breath. The program has possibilities, the service so far is not impressive.

"Frustrating for several reasons", I've been trying to find a good program to scrapbook with so that I can still print out pages and not just have them on the computer. This one doesn't print well at all. I've tried printing one of thier premade pages, pages I've created from scratch with and with out pics put in and everything comes out pixilized. I haven't had any text come out with clear edges and anytime you change the size of any graphic it will pixilize the edges. I do have a good printer and can print perfect pictures so long as I don't use this program. Another thing I found extremely frustrating was not being able to search for a type of graphic. If you want a heart or scissors or flowers you have to search through everything to find them. This program would be ok if you don't want to print the pages out but if you do . . . look for something else.

"Missing Graphic - no help from Product Support", I love this program and would have given 5 stars BUT based on my experience product support is non-existent UNLESS you are willing to sit on the phone long distance waiting for help. Email support is simply not there - requests for help are unanswered. I have tried for a month with no response from Nova Development (makers of this program.) This program is missing "Decorative H" from the alphabet graphics and I have found no help from Product Support. Other than this... the program is great fun and I love it!



 
Read this reviews before You buy...

"Simply GREAT Software!", My husband picked up a copy of Scrapbook Factory Deluxe for me on Amazon, and I just LOVE it. First of all, can I say how great it is to be doing scrapbooking on my computer. As someone who has spent years doing it the old-fashioned way, I can tell you that Scrapbook Factory is a breeze. There are all the familiar traditional scrapbooking tools I'm used to using, plus a whole lot more - like a cool photo editor, a neat cropping tool, and loads of other features. Plus, I've now figured out that when I make a scrapbook on my computer, I can actually make multiple copies for family members - which I was never able to do before. That's a nice bonus!

But the neatest thing about Scrapbook Factory may well be the templates. There are tons of them - not even sure how many. And they're really nice designs. They're in pretty much every category you can think of. We took a trip to Florida this summer, and I was able to find a few really nice beach vacation templates. I just hooked up my digital camera, brought the pictures over, dropped them into my template, and voila, I have my kids on the beach inside a "beach vacation template." It doesn't get any easier than that, I tell you.

I tried the Hallmark scrapbook product a couple years back, though I haven't seen it in stores in some time. I wasn't impressed. Pretty kiddish really. But Scrapbook Factory is really neat!

"Easy product for quick digital scrapbook pages", Even though I am an experienced user of Photoshop, Corel Draw, and Pagemaker, I still found this software useful. It is like having the basic tools from those programs all in one application. It is especially good if you can't invest in those expensive applications. Even though the premade templates are somewhat limited in themes, I found it very easy to modify them, and create new ones very quickly from scratch. My major complaint is that the program is really slow when importing high res photos. It's also a bummer that you can't export the finished layouts. But I have found it very useful and fun for super quick layouts.

"Very good product", This is pretty easy to use and I'm having fun with it. I can't compare it with any other scrapbook programs since this is the only one I've used. But from what I see, this is really all I need.

"This is great.", I purchased this software and I have 3 pages printed in less than an hour after installing the program. I could have done a lot more, but I was having a great time changing backgrounds and borders to see what they looked like before I finally decided on what I liked best. I haven't had any problems with this and it's pretty easy to use. I'm fairly new to scrapbooking, but this makes my pages look I'm experienced at scrapbooking. I'm having a great time with this program.

"This is AWFUL", I bought this program ready to scrapbook pictures of my children and pictures of a baby shower that I hosted. It was fun getting the pictures organized in the templates, but once I started printing everything came out .... The pictures were blotchy and ugly looking and everyone's face looked like they had some spotted disease. When I called tech support, they told me my pictures were too big. If I had known the pictures had to be 72 dpi or less, I would have never committed myself to this product. Beware, it looks like a good product, but remember looks can be deceiving.
