"a useful reference for building PC's"
I'm 17 and a senior in high school. I take a computer science class at school and use Computer Shopper to find ideas for the lab section of the class when we learn how to improve the performance of PC's. The articles are easy to understand and seem to cover the same topics we have at school. I used to buy the magazine at the bookstore but now I am a subscriber. Some of my friends read the magazine too. It's been a real help - I know more than my Dad now about computing, although he won't admit it.

"Get your smarts from the experts!"
Computer Shopper came to the rescue! I didn't know how complex buying a computer could be. After three years of struggling with an old PC my brother gave me, I decided it was time to upgrade to a system that would allow me to do all the fun things I wanted to do - play and record music, watch movies, create my own photo album online- I wanted to do it ALL! After hours spent listening to often conflicting advice from well-meaning friends and co-workers, I was as in the dark as I had been when I started, if a little more confused! Then a friend showed me a desktop review and comparison guide in Computer Shopper. What a lifesaver! After a couple hours of reading, I felt informed enough to decide exactly the system I wanted AND where to get it. Their article on retailers was very informative. Since then, I haven't bought anything for my system without referring to Computer Shopper for help. Although some topics covered in their articles are a bit too advanced for me, I find that the issues and reviews I am interested in are easy to read and very useful. Computer Shopper has really opened up my eyes to how much fun computing can be, and I am even beginning to surprise my "expert" friends with my new-found knowledge! Thanks Computer Shopper!

"it once was good..."
i remember back in the middle '90s this magazine was think... probably anywhere between 1.5-2.5 inches... it contained Ads, reviews, supplier lists, benchmarks and sometimes trial software... Well i have picked one up sense them... and they are now a centimeter thick (if your lucky) they contain ... reviews that are well written or well read, and a whole lot of ads... my conclusion don't buy it... if you want reviews buy PC Magizine or PC World... and if you want ads... surf the internet.

"good magazine"
This magazine is a pretty good magazine. it has a reviews on laptops, desktops hardware, sofware, and mobile computer stuff. it also has some good articles. it is inexpensive, and tells you about every website on the net that sell computer stuff.it is made by cdnet.

"Nothing but ads"
They allowed me to try one issue before I paid for the subscription. After I read the first issue, I decided to cancel. There are a couple of good topics but the articles were poorly written, for example, you couldn't see clearly what the conclusions or recommendations are. The rest of the magazines are all advertisements, which you can get for free from the internet (or just anywhere).
