Others say..."above average dvd portable storage"I travel every now and then, and have developed a habit of bringing movies along for those long waits during flight changeovers. Have been searching for a dependable portable carry-around for my growing DVD's. Looked at different brands; 'Caselogic' was too expensive (given the number of DVD's it can hold), plus it was rated badly by other amazon reviewers; 'Mainstays' (available at a land store) looks too flimsy. 'cdProjects' came up during a search via Amazon and thot I gave it a shot. It was exactly what i wanted when the package came that I ordered another within the same week. I would given it a 5-star rating but ... the price was higher when i placed my second order -- unbelievable!! given the cost-benefit analysis, i don't think it is more appealing than 'caselogic'. "Not up to usual CDProjects standards"I'm a big, big fan of CDProjects original CD storage system, so much so that I own 6 Roladisc racks and 2 of their portable cases. The beauty of their CD system is that not only does it save space and protect disks, but the Roladisc filing allows for quick re-ordering, quick filing, and quick compatibility with the portable cases...just pop one out, stick it in the portable, and return it when done. Based upon the CDProjects Roladisc system, I purchased this DVD binder. Sadly, I'm relatively disappointed. The product does not show CDProjects usual level of engineering. Some fundamental flaws: 1. "Cardboard" DVD cases, such as those used by Warner Bros, don't really work. Even if you cut off the front flap of a cardboard DVD case (the back of which contains the track numbers), the piece of cardboard is too wide. Yes, I could spend my time trying to trim these down to size, but if CDProjects would make the pocket just 1/4" wider, I wouldn't have to do this. Come on guys, think it through. 2. The pages in the binder have 2 DVDs per page. This is a real annoyance if you're trying to file alphabetically and you buy a new title that goes between a number of full pages. To insert a new DVD in the proper place, you have to remove all the DVDs that come after the title from their pockets and shift all the entries around. If the pages had 1 DVD per page, I could simply insert the page in the correct place in the binder. Again, not very well thought out. 3. There is no DVD Roladisc. One of the things that makes the CDProjects CD system so brilliant is that you can choose either the Roladex-like system or binders, whichever fits your need, and move discs between them. When you have a few hundred DVDs, a Roladisc system is a much better way to easily organize your disks than using 5 or 6 binders of 40 discs each. All in all, the current binder is okay, but I won't be buying another until CDProjects provides all the functionality that exists in their CD systems, as well as the ability to handle the front flapts of cardboard DVD cases.
"Excellent Design" This DVD Portfolio is great for anyone looking for items to store their DVD's. Each page has room for two paper inserts(papers showing the scenes and info about the movie) on one side and on the other side is room for two DVD'S that fit side by side. The slots for the DVD'S are circular slots which hold the DVD perfectly. To see just how good this portfolio is, everyone should buy it. It holds 40 DVD'S which is a really good amount. The DVD'S will not fall out like in some portfolio's and ithis product is made very well.
"Best Format for Dense DVD Storage I've Seen" Spent a lot of time trying to find a dense way of storing DVD's (short of using CD storage). The problem was trying to keep the booklets and covers with the DVDs. With two minor exception, this is the best I've found... and I've tried several different brands. The first exception is that the booklet holders are just that... for the booklets. If you want to store the cover, the slot is too small and you have to fold the cover (and this can be difficult if the DVD is in one of the "recyclable" packs... AKA cardboard). The other exception is that Targus (the manufacturer) clearly knows this is a superior product... and they charge for it. Kind of pricy but if you need this storage, it's the best.

What our customer's say!"sadly, CD Projects is not what it used to be...", CD Projects used to make some of the best quality disc storage units available. I've used one of their Roladisc CD holders (like a rolodex which holds CD sleeves) for at least five years--I'm pushing it to its full capacity (over 100 sleeves, most holding two discs back-to-back), and it's still in great shape. Unfortunately, within the past year or two, CD Projects has changed hands. It shows: the commitment to quality is no longer there. CD Projects pioneered the use of special materials in their sleeves which help protect discs--a practice which, fortunately, is being imitated. But newer products from CD Projects (i.e. those manufactured after the shakeup) use sleeves of much lesser quality. I'll grant that the new sleeves are still better than many offered by the competition, but they're harder to use (the discs don't slide in and out as easily) and less protective. Also, the CD Projects product line has been reduced significantly. Not much selection anymore. For those disappointed that the CD Projects name no longer represents the best, I suggest looking into the Univenture catalog, particularly Unikeep binders. A bit pricey, but it's now become the best choice. "Compare to other DVD Ssorage Binders, and you'll agree", Targus products speak for themselves, with the lifetime warranty against falling apart, reviews that say this case is flimsy haven't looked at many other cases. This case is ideal for organising store bought DVDs with the covers occupying the opposite side of the page (one side is for the disc, the other is rectangular for storing DVD covers). Also for archiving to CD or DVD-Rs the comprtment for the DVD covers is ideal fo slipping in a listing of the contents in a CD or DVD archive. Very well made poroduct and this type of sleeve is the kindest to your DVD media. "Excellent", Way better than the Case Logic products where you can't see the dvd from behind the cover insert page. Great stuff, I continue to buy more. "The only product to consider", Okay, I admit that this binder is a little pricy. My only other complaint is that for those DVDs that come in the cardboard case the cover doesn't fit in the sleeve. That said, this binder is perfect for me. Since a lot of DVDs now come with a bonus disk, the two sleeves per page is optimal. The fact that the pages are removable make it easy to rearrange disks to keep them in alpabetical order. These binders take up far less room on my shelf than a stack of cases would. The faux-leather finish is nice, but I'm not sure how durable it would be if you were to carry these around like you would a CD case. I highly recommend this product. I use it to store my X-BOX games as well.
"Cheap Product", Everything about this DVD holder is flimsy. The cover has the texture and feel of cheap vinyl waiting to tear. The inner pages are composed of flimsy plastic pockets that look like they will rip loose after a short time of use. I give the physical, practical use a 2 and the presentation of the holder a 1. Having received mine in the mail today I would now, not pay anything for this product. The only way I would own another is if it were given to me as a gift.
