"Great for Preschool Special Ed. classrooms"
My kids just love this computer game! It is very easy to use; the kids just move the mouse around. They don't have to click the mouse. It is cute enough for adults to enjoy playing with the children. I have a very intelligent autistic boy who forgets to scream and have tantrums while he is playing this game. It even helps with socialization. I often see more than one child watching the screen and pointing to items while another child uses the mouse.

"Good Game, when it works"
I have installed it on Windows XP, and I've had problems with the video going crazy once in a while, like the colors all flip to their opposites. When it does work, my nephew, who is almost 3, loves to sit on my lap and we play. This coming from a little boy who'd rather run than walk any day. He is having fun and learning at the same time.

"Enjoyable for 16-month old"
Our 16-month old enjoys watching the animation, listening to the songs, and is working on learning how to control it. Still needs some help, but he asks for playtime using the computer now. Plenty of activities.

"fabulous game for kids"
I bought this game many years ago and paid $25.00 or so for it. Both my children have loved it and my oldest has had fun on it up to age 6. I would recommend this to everyone. When it says baby it means a very young child can get the hang of it. This has worked great for me on Windows ME and XP, no problems.

"Reader Rabbit Playtime for Baby and Toddler"
I had no problems loading this on my Windows XP computer. It runs great. It also rav great on my windows 98 pc. I got this for my grandson when he was barely a year old. He's 3 now and STILL loves to play "the bunny game" as he calls it. He has gone from pounding the keyboard to using the mouse to navigate in and out of the various games. I only wish there were additional downloadable coloring pages as he knows them all now.

What our customer's say!

"Excellent for toddlers", I bought this software for my 18 month old daughter... It took her a little while to figure out the mouse, but she was never bored while she learned. She is now just over 2 and has mastered all the games on both the Baby and Toddler segments.. She still loves Mattie and Reader Rabbit. I also bought 2 of the baby and toddler Sesame Street tiles... They are not as easy to learn since they require the child to use either the mouse OR the keybord, no game uses both, and these games bore her. I highly recommend this Reader Rabbit title for your child age 1 - 3. I'm off to order the preschool title! I'll let you know what we think!

"Great game for toddlers!", My 2 year old loves this game! The best thing about the game is that the child can play by either touching keys on the keyboard, moving the mouse over items in the game, or using the mouse to click. Great to grow with a child as his/her computer skills grow. Fun and exciting variety of games that include lots of skill areas. Excellent game for toddlers!

"My daughter likes this game", My daughter really likes this game as it has lots of sounds and colors. It was a little bit simple for her though as she finished all the activities in one day. She still likes to play it though. I did not have any problems installing it on our computer. So I gave it 4 stars. A game that was a little more challenging yet ok for a preschooler was a game called School Zome Flash Action Colors, shapes and more. That game made my daughter "think" a little bit more than reader rabbit did. It's still an ok game.

"very educational + fits with age group well", This software works very well, has quite a bit of things to do that children enjoy and helps them learn. My biggest complaint with the software is the entrance and exit, the entrance being very long and there is only one way to skip it to get to the games, clicking on flower for exit at beginning to get past it, although the software don't tell you that, and as far as the exit goes, it questions you a second time and is still slow to exit. perfect for the childs age group, I would highly recommend this software to anyone wanting this for their child.

"Reader Rabbit Playtime for Baby and Toddler", This program is one of the best I have seen. I did like Jumpstart baby, but this is a great addition to my collection. Seems to function best in the Toddler mode for my 19month old! I give it 5 stars.

"For a cheap buy this is a priceless gift!", I bought this software when I was pregnant. Don't remember where, but the sticker says I paid 1.99 for it. Would pay a million times that for the joy this has brought my daughter. She started at 18 months when we gave her an old pc we had in the garage. Of all the software we had this was the only stuff she could use without instruction or assistance from an adult; and for a kid stuck on independence that is a big deal. Her favorite for a time was the Follow Me Theater because even when she did nothing Reader would come out every so often and do a song. Now she manipulates the mouse to do whatever she wants. She has also developed great letter, color, and animal recognition, as well as being able to name tons of objects she has seen on the letter train. Top this all off with the fact that we are frequently treated to her sweet renditions of the Follow Me Theater songs and you know why we love it so much. We have purchased the Reader Rabbit's Preschool and Reader Rabbit's Kindergarten and plan to give one for easter and one for her birthday in July. Can't wait to see all the fun she has with those.

"Software difficult to install.", It would not run in MS Windows2000.
It would not run in Microsoft XP.
It would not run in Mac OS9.
There is a bare minimum of online support.

It RUNS in MS Windows 98 and fairly well at that on my old laptop. Just thought you'all might want to know.

ps-my son likes it when it runs.

"they'll catch right on", my sweetie will be 2 in 4 weeks. she loves "rabbit". begs for him!!! it took less than 3 sessions for her to "get" the mouse skills...now she is learning to click as well...
good starter program.

"A program that grows with your kids!", I like this program because it is easy for small ones to use. I have a 20 month old and a 4.5 year old. They both love this game.

"I've seen better", I have to say, I let my son since before he was walking to play on my old 586 133 computer. After having the Fisher Price Keyboard and three stage game, I was very dissappointed with this game. First off, it says it only needs DirectX 4 but it comes with DirectX 7 which would not install on the machine. One must have an updated computer to run this game, or have a copy of DirectX 4 lying around. Now since my son has been using a computer for as long as he has, he has learned that keys do different things and every key has an association with the Fisher Price game, and in general computer usage. With this game, everything is controlled. The key strokes do commands that the program wants to run, and completes tasks FOR the child rather than initiating them to complete the task by pressing the correct buttons. My son gets bored with this game since it doesn't matter what key he presses it does what the program wants to do, not what my son wants to try, and the game stops and sings and won't let him do anything. My son is used to more control. The Fisher Price game actually associates the letter A with the letter A for example, so I believe he is actually learning more from a straight keyboard than this game. My son is now 20 months old. When we got this game he was 18 months old, and he was off and away on the Fisher Price keyboard at 13 months. I was looking for another game just as good if not better, or more interactive to help him grow, but I would rather see an old fashion typing game that teaches him the letters on the keyboard or something more interactive that lets him control the game, not the game controlling him.

And according to the system requirements my computer should be able to run the game, but I am still having a hard time finding DirectX get the computer game to run :(
