GOOD THINGS
The sound effects were absolutely incredible (It's a trademark of Lucas).
The graphics were relatively good!
The game play was a perfect level of difficulty.

BAD POINTS
Can you say S-H-O-R-T? It was only like ten levels. I beat it in about four days.
The story line was kind of weak.
The ships kept changing and you had no control over which one you flew.

All in all, I don't suggest buying this game. It's fun, but there are other Star Wars games that are better.

"Awful - Dont waste your time...", Worst star wars game ever. I have played enough games to know the difference between controlling your ship versus rocking like a yo-yo. Nasty 2-D look and feel.

"great graphics", it is an alright but incredibly short game of about 10-15 levels. there however is flawless graphics and gameplay. the storyline is ok but could be better, only reccommended for diehard Star Wars fans like me

"Lots of fun!", Please disregard dszeibert and stomper1's reviews. You can configure the controls. The controls do make sense for anyone who's flown a flight sim before and the menus make perfect sense to those above the 80 IQ line.

I found this game to be a lot of fun. The missions were challenging and visually impressive. It's very Star Wars in its space combat style, with a lot of laser sounds and a John Williams soundtrack playing in the background. The really great thing is that after you finish, there are bonus levels and ships, so it has high replayability.

It's true that the flight control is simplified. There are only three speeds; normal, boost and brake. But hey, you're flying a Naboo fighter. If I wanted realism, I would buy an F14 sim.

The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of a Multiplayer option. That would have made this game five stars.

In the end, the true quality of this game is the enjoyment you get by blowing up tanks, fighters and frigates, so I definitely recommend it.

"unsatisfied", here is a game that had potential , but dont waste your money. The controls are horrible and unresponsive and the training levels seem to last forever. Not much pay-off in thisgame for all the patience it requires. Do yourself a favor and get jedi knight 2 jedi outcast.

don't get this if you want a star wars experience.

"We must save the queen", Besides it being rather sort, this game is great. Even better if your a starwars fan.

"No Way, No More LucasArts Garbage For Me", [....] Its bad, real bad. 3 ships?? No throttle control?? "Rogue Squadron type game" (meaning cheap graphics, slapdash programming)?? Yeah, I thought so. Starfighter is another piece of garbage with the words "Star Wars" slapped on it. The last decent space fighter game to come out that was Star Wars related was "X-Wing Alliance", and I have yet to see anything new that was even half as good as that game. I include the new Nintendo game in that list as well.

I'm going to save my money and wait until a decent Star Wars game comes out for the PC, this ain't it.

"Great new entry in the Star Wars combat sim category!", If you loved Rogue Squadron but were disappointed by Battle for Naboo, you'll enjoy this title. You fly three great ships from the Phantom Menace era, plus Lucasarts has continued their excellent tradition of offering bonus missions and craft. The graphics in this game are generally very good, with explosions and effects that are much better than Battle for Naboo (however, those with high standards will notice that some explosions, particularly on the surface missions, look decidedly less realistic than the ones in space). Still, you'll enjoy the speed and power of these ships, although the joystick implementation could have been better (for example, you can't control your speed with the throttle and I am constantly correcting for roll). The cutscenes and game immersion elements are superb, as is the voice acting and general continuity with the Star Wars universe. Although it's not a long game, it's well worth it considering the extras. (Another note: the strategy guide that has been published for this title is for the PS2 version. I don't know if the cheat codes work with the PC version).
