I bought this for religious clipart to insert in the church news letters. It has served it's purpose and it has helped me serve GOD.

"Could use a lot of improvement"
Image quality and variety was medium. While there are some excellant images, I had to search for them through multiple categories to find them. Many, many of the images were childlike, almost cartoonish, and I'd be embarassed to use them in a religious group's newsletter (my purpose). In addition, each image seems to have a vertical black line built into it at the left side, which forces me to edit the image and overlay part of it with a white stripe. One should not have to jump through these hoops! I also could not save an image to disk; I had to select it, copy it to the clipboard, and paste into another document.

Granted, some of the images are inspirational, and there are many of a wide range of subject matter (e.g., Jesus's miricles). However, each time I load this cd to look for an image, I sigh a sigh of frustration, and wish I had something better to work from.

"God will not be pleased!"
I realize that such a CD will have many "cartoonish" pictures and include the "ecumenical" or new age religions, but I expected that a few time-honored pictures could be found. After all, we are talking about the majesty of God!!! At least 50% of all the pictures were gross and distorted figures (most were making fun of nuns, priests and monks). Even the "kid pictures" of the saints (and they had every name you could think of) were so poorly drawn that there was no difference or distinction between them other than the Saint's name. Even the Jewish and Muslin sections looked exactly like the Christian section! They could just as well exchange some of the titles of those for the Christian ones. I did not find any dignified pictures of Christ and the Christmas section was reindeer, holly, Santa, etc. - all secular.

The best I can say is that some of the clips of Churches were good and one or two were very nice. The best ones had some detail to them and that made them look elegant. That was generally lacking in all the other pictures...

"not as refined as I was looking for", It's hard to find refined Christian clip-art & I don't see that this is that. It's basic clip-art from years ago. If you're looking for fine and beautiful Christian clip-art, this product is NOT it.

"great vector graphics but not a good search mechanism", I make all kinds of posters for my church, but I didn't have many religious graphics in my current collections. So I ordered this set. I actually like the "cartoonish" qaulity of these images. I especially like the fact that they are all 100% vector graphics -- it makes them very scalable without losing image quality, and it also allows me to break the image down into its pieces and remove or change any piece the way I want. For example, I found a graphic of an angel that I liked, but I didn't really want an angel. So I removed her wings without ruining any of the rest of the graphic. (I use Deneba Canvas Version 7 Canvas 6.0 for editing any vector graphics.) The description that said these are all 100% vector graphics is the main reason I purchased this collection.

However, this CD is an old program and just doesn't have the search capabilities that I am used to with my other graphics collections. For example, I wanted to search for any clip art representing "prayer", and it couldn't find any. I also like to search for clip art representing moods like "excited" or concepts like "friends". The search can't find any.

All the clip art graphics are well grouped into categories. This works fine if you you know the category that would have the kind of image you would like, and if there is a category for that. You may then search within a category for some key words, but even that doesn't work very well. You may have better luck by just browsing through all the images in that category. But that assumes you know which category to find your image.

So I like the images, just not the search program that comes with it.

"A Large Collection with Some Good Choices", This is a large collection and it is not all Christian. There are some Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim folders within the collection as well as some secular ones. They are mostly, pretty well organized in sub-folders that make sense which is a big help in a large collection. Most of the images are in color and of good quality. All in all, this is a good collection.

In the last few weeks I have purchased about a dozen religious clipart collections. Some have better images than this one but I would say that for the money, this is probably the best collection I have seen so far. It is definitely a keeper.


"Art Explosion Religious Clip Art", It contains great clip art. However, I was disappointed about the lack of "Lenten" items, including "Maundy Thursaday" items.

"Illustrate the bible ", This is a great clip art collection! I use the clip art to illustrate bible stories. The pictures are bright and colorful and the kids adore them. There are also plenty of traditional pictures which are great for adults and older teens. It is very simple to use, you can either insert images into another program or simply print them out.
