"AWESOME GAME!!!", Such an AWESOME game!!! If only they didn't cancel Majesty 2. =.../

Majesty is a Combination of Lords of the Realm, Civilization, and Heros of Might and Magic. You have a MASSIVE Kingdom to Manage while at the same time assigning Quests to your Heros and Builing Guild Halls for the different types of Warriors, Paladins, Wizards, ect.

If Blizzard created an overhead strategy game like this with Diablo or Warcraft it would be GREEEEAAT!!!

"Quests are just too hard", I got quite good at the original Majesty but the quests in the Northern Expansion are just too hard. There's not enough variety in the game to make it interesting when you try and achieve the same quest for the tenth time, and there are too many random factors to make it much more than a gamble whether you win or lose. If I was willing to play a quest fifty times then I would probably get one where all the breaks went in my favour, but what's the point?

"Makes a great game even better!", I just got my copy of Majesty, the Northern Expansion the other day, and let me tell you, it is one heck of a good game. The original Majesty, the Fantasy Kingdom Sim, was great, but after a while, it got sort of old. But Majesty, the Northern Expansion breathes new life into the game, making it even better than it was before.

Majesty, the Northern Expansion, includes twelve new epic quests. The new quests are very challenging, and may take several tries to complete. I haven't completed any of the new quests yet. There is only one "Beginner" quest, a few "Advanced" quests, several "Expert" quests, and two "Master" quests that can't be revealed until you complete the other ten. And the original quests are still there. Plus, you now have more options for freestyle and multiplayer quests, including new player and enemy forces, wandering monsters, new special events, more landscapes to choose from, and a new feature that allows you to set limits on the types of buildings that you can build. And, there are new buildings, spells, and enemies. Your heroes also have new abilities.

I have to say that this is like no expansion pack I've ever seen. While it does require the original game to play, it is still more of a seperate program. When you install it, it appears in the start menu in a seperate folder. You can still play the original Majesty as if you have never installed the expansion simply by going into the Microprose folder. And, if you wish to uninstall the expansion, the original game will still be there.

If you're bored with the original game, get Majesty, the Nothern Expansion. It makes a great game even better!

"Great Game!", The original Majesty was fun and after you beat all of the missions you could still make freestyle games. Then they put out the expansion, which is a great add-on, which gives more missions, more freestyle opitions, more buildings, and more spells! I highly Recommend this game.

"The best add-on ever", More challenging then the older quests, Jay aden and the cyberlore staff has really done a fantastic job on this.

"much more challenging", I, like many others I think, have been anxiously awaiting The Northern Expansion. I just found mine in a department store about a week ago, and it has become just as addictive as the first Majesty. However, this one is going to take a lot longer to complete, as the new quests are VERY challenging. Even the one new "beginner" quest, called the "Scions of Chaos," seems impossible to win; you have to dispose of a priestess, a discord warrior, and a cultist to win. Sounds fairly easy until the priestess shows up right away and wreaks havoc on your settlement before you can get a good start. A couple of the "advanced" ones seem a little easier, and I mean "a little," but I have gotten through two of them and am sure I will figure out the secrets to winning the rest after I get annihilated a few (hundred) times. The new buildings are great, although I haven't figured out how valuable or worthless some of them are. Also, a couple of the maps in the freestyle mode are HUGE, and the manual settings page will tell you that your computer needs AT LEAST 128 megs of RAM to run those. So, spare yourself the temptation of playing the freestyle scenarios if you don't have that much power, or go out and upgrade. Anyway, if the first Majesty tried your patience to the point of contemplating suicide, you might want to think twice about trying the Northern Expansion right away. However, if you found the quests in Majesty a little too easy, and yearn for more challenging, seemingly impossible-to-win adventures in Ardania, Majesty:The Northern Expansion add-on is a must-have.
