"Don't buy if you're a developer!"
I bought this, installed it, & all seemed fine. But when I started to do some ASP coding I discovered that the website doesn't run correctly any more (eg can't create text files via ASP). Apparently this is a known problem at Symantec and they 'say' they're working on a fix.

"Protection, protection, protection!"
It won't happen to me is exactly what i thought. I am very careful! But there are mean people out there my friend, i dont' know why-- but there are... And this provides you with excellent protection from some of their destructive antics! Provides excellent proetection from viruses and other internet attacks. If you have been attacked before, you know its necessary. And you probably have been attacked before and just didn't know that's why your computer was messing up! Get this program and you can be assured you will be safer!

"Don't even Buy it"
I never got to use this product because of all the problems installing it.

Not only did it never install correctly but it trashed other things that already worked. Unless you are a software/OS expert forget getting help from the WEB site. The information was confusing and in in a few cases incorrect.

Customer service from Symatec. Forget it. I dare you to find a person to contact unless you are willing to pay $30. Any $70 product that costs $30 to install is not worth it.

"Dissappointing Tech Support"
This product would not install correctly in Windows 2000. Symantec support policy is to either post problems to a bulletin board and wait 24-48 hours for response, or pay...to call them. The first method is slow, impersonal, an above all ineffective. The second method is offensive. Consumers have already paid for the product, they should not have to pay to get it to work correctly.

"Gret Product. Works invisibly"
Norton Internet Security 2001 v3.0 is a must have for cable/dsl subscribers. The install was smooth and user friendly. The Antivirus works seamlessly in the background, along with the firewall utility. A definite buy, hands down!

"One in a million!", NIS 2001 3.0 is probably the best edition I've seen. It has an easy user interface and it has protected from countless viruses. It also helps me prevent hungry neophyte port probing teenagers with bad attitudes. It is definitely a must have for /Kazaa users. If you plan on getting a security program for your home pc, make this the one.

"Great for Cable Modems.", I have been using Norton internet security version 3.0 for the past three months. The program consists of three main software applications: a firewall protection, protecting confidential information, and internet security.
It took me an hour to configure the software due to various applications accessing the internet. But once I was able to set the software I have been able to keep various intruders from my computer.
This software has tools that safeguard your information not only from the internet but also from yourself. I especially like the firewall since it enables me to choose the ports. Also the automatic updates help keep the software up to date. Another good item that I found was the set-up with your corporate VPN.
I gave the software four stars because the user interface is not comfortable.

"NIS is for the average consumer", I like NIS very much. Though I love Black Ice also, I have
NIS running on several of the PCs I use because I like the idea of having virus protection and firewall/network security in
the same package. It is becoming easier and easier to configure, and I believe that it has gotten to the place where the average consumer can deal with it well. If you are a real dunce about computers you may want to get the help of a friend
when you install it, just so that you feel more confident, but this product is steadily improving.

"Trouble with Windows ME", Well, let's see... I've been a major Norton software fan since the late 60's... okay at least since I bought my 286 many years ago. Now I have a 1.4GHz Pentium III running Windows ME, and I'm getting errors and lockups all over the place. I don't think I should blame Norton for this one as I think it's an "ME" issue, but turning off Norton often solves the problems. So, my advice? If you've got Windows ME, don't mix it with Norton Internet Security 2001.

"Great, if you like Blue screens", Complaints about "unexpected kernal mode trap" error are unresolved. Run both programs and watch the blue screens arrive. Check out their site for this error report from others. There solution is there is no solution and has not been one for about six months now. Also there support must have blue screen problems, they don't reply.
