"This gme is a 12 out of 10!!" Ceilings be damned These folks have put together a dream game. Perhaps out of date by today's standards. But nonetheless, Diablo II is a winner! In fir the long haul, this game offers, and supplies gameplay! With multiple races and combat styles, Diablo II will keep gamers on their toes for milennia. Blizzard, you've scored another historic event! A game that promotes itself!! I am 60 years old. Been gaming since I was, but gaming since I was 18, yes, 18. I never thought I would leave Viet Nam alive, but here I am! Guys and Gals!! You have made a mirical!!!! Games for the Ages. Hats off to you ladies and men!! You've created a Bloody monster of a hit. Keep at it boys and girls. You've designed a winner!!
"Tons of Fun!" The expansion pack to one of the best games out there! Diablo 2 has taken many, many hours away from my life...but it was too addicting, I couldn't help it! For anyone who likes 2-D style dungeon-crawls (Bulder's Gate, Champions of Norrath, Diablo 1, etc) this is THE game for you! The replayability of this game is phenomenal. There are so many items (various types of weapons, armor, charms, amulets, rings, etc.) and monsters that every single time you play, the experience will be different! You play underground, in deserts, ice caves, forests, jungles, castles, so many places. It can take hours to beat each act (5 in all) and there are three difficulty levels to play (15 Acts total if you play all the way through). Hell is the hardest difficulty setting and VERY challenging. There are many sidequests to play, though your main goal is to kill Mephisto, Baal, and Diablo. The characters are more fun than any dungeon crawl type came I have ever played because each class has its own sepcific skills, spells, and auras (30 for each of the 7 classes) that it can learn. Because of that, even one class can have several different styles of character by the end of the game. The expansion adds the sixth and seventh character classes. Many people still play this game online, though I have only ever played it offline, single player. I have talked with peopl who play it online, and if you have a fast connection (I only have dial-up) they say it is a lot of fun. So if you want to go back to the classic days before everything was in 3-D, and on massive online servers, Diablo 2 with or with out the expansion (which adds the fifth act to each level of the game), is a fun and challenging way to whittle away hours of your life on the computer!
"Diablo2 Lord of destruction" This game is very entertaining and lots of fun to play. It is well worth the money. It is a challenging game, with hours of stimulation. I am glad I purchased it. The whole family loves it. I let a lot of people I know, about this game and told them to purchase it!
"Lost Interest" The game is fun, but with blizzard's constant eye over World of Warcraft, Diablo II hasn't been paid attention to in years. :(
"This is one of the best game." I played all of the episode including. Diablo 1, Hell Fire, Diablo 2, and Diablo 2 Expansion. I hope that they are going to release a new Diablo which is Diablo 3.

"Sets the Bar on Cooperative Role-Playing Games But...", Years ago I wasted months of my life playing this game over the LAN with my husband. In anticipation of Diablo III my husband and I re-installed Diablo II. I must admit we un-installed it immediately. The graphics are just HORRIBLE by todays standards. The highest resolution the game will play is 800x600 and the colors were awful. Blood spatter was literally showing in little red pixels. We should have known better when noticing the game will run on Windows 95. Please, Blizzard, hurry up and release III already. You've taken way too long.
"Diablo II LoD - the ultimate way to hide from the world", After completing Diablo II I needed something else to give me a rush, I was playing round the clock, pausing only for the necessities. The only way to get back to my life was by physically destroying the discs. After becoming the Lord of Destruction myself, I finally rejoined the world and also got a job...
"Good Expansion", I played the original diablo II for a long time before this came out. This was a great improvement to one of the best games that I have ever played. If you are a real diablo II fan get this and you can love the game even more.
"Diablo II LoD Expansion Review", This is a great game, my buddies and I play it as often as we can. The expansion was a good add on to Diablo II, I liked all of the new items, classes, etc. I think this is a game most would enjoy.
"Diablo", My son loved this game for a very long time, but now he's into Warcraft and said this has last some of its zing..

"A great introduction to Multiplayer online adventure", Online gaming is relatively new to me. Diablo 2 is the first exposure I've had to massive multiplayer gaming. I have to say that even though it's got it's flaws, it's not a bad place to start.
The plot is simple. You choose 1 from a menu of 5 (7 in expansion) warriors to stop the world from being overrun by minions of a Devil-like demon. Each warrior type has unique spells/combat moves/abilities to help them. But YOU choose what abilities they specialize in as you cannot master every one of their abilities. This allows each class to have several different ways to build them up. Collect special weapons/gear to enhance your abilities or even give you new ones. Half the fun is finding new awesome gear to make you stronger. There is no limit to what kind randomly generated items can be found but specific rare and unique collectible gear are the true prizes if you can find them.
Reasons to play: Unlimited Online Play is free Connecting is as easy as say, logging into email You don't need a 3-d accelerator to have this game It performs well on my 6 year old computer It's fun No shortage of fan-made guides and strategies
Flaws: The Blizzard servers lag fairly often Only 8 players per game It doesn't have cutting edge graphics (but they still look fine) Finally You can't store all the items you want to on one game, if you need to trade items between different characters you've made, you need a trustworthy friend to hold them for you while you log in and out with different characters to drop/pick-up items.
Ways to get the most out of this game: Choose a character and read an online guide on that character to figure out a good way to build stronger. Start with a simple yet strong character like a "Hammerdin" or a "Summoner Necromancer" and then branch out with new characters as you become more comfortable. Start playing games online solo or witha friend. You'll enjoy the game most if you're actually building characters that can compete on higher levels. Since the game is cheap, you might interest a friend in purchasing the game with you. Playing together online is more fun.
"Blizzard does it again", Diablo 2 is brilliantly fun, especially for multiplayer. There is a surprising amount of variability between characters. The game is great and I'm glad I bought it.
"Mostly technical", It's a great game! I started with the original Diablo in the 90's but just got back into Diablo II after playing it at a relative's house. She had the Expansion Pack so I got that, and it's much better than Diablo II alone. I'm only on the 2nd set so I'm not very good yet, and the other reviewers have been very helpful. I did notice one thing: in Diablo II you can copy the play CD, which I did to protect the original, since you have to leave that in your CD drive to play. In the expansion There is only one CD and you need to leave it in your drive instead on the Diablo II play CD. You can copy the CD, and all the files that show up on the original will be copied, but the copied CD won't work to play the game. I'm sure that's to keep people from using the same copy of the expansion on more than one computer, but it does subject the CD to wear and possible destruction. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied so far. I had one glitch: in Act 2 the computer malfunctioned and was unable to get to Canyon of the Magi because I never reached the Summoner. I found out that by saving and exiting, then going back in to the Arcane Sanctuary via the waypoint I could find and kill the Summoner and continue the game.
"A great game made even better with this expansion pack", Diablo II is perhaps the oldest PC game that's currently still in print, as it originally came out in 2000, and as of my speaking (2006) still being manufactured. It's one of the few still-in-print games that runs (and beautifully, by the way) on my antiquated system (to show you how antiquated my system is: it runs Riven: A Sequel to Myst beautifully, but on Myst III: Exile, many of the scenes are fine, but many of the animated sequences tend to be shaky, and it won't run Myst IV: Revelation, because it's far too slow and don't have the proper video card). That's probably also the beauty of Diablo II, you don't need the newest, fanciest computer with a 2GHz processor and the latest video card to play it. This is a truly wonderful, slash-em up adventure game certainly to please anyone of this genre. But the original Diablo II was not without its drawbacks. For example, what's the use in hiring a mercenary if they get killed almost before you get a chance to use them? Why can't you bring your mercenary back to life? Or why do you have to place your socketed weapon or armor in your inventory to place your gems, jewels and skulls in them, when you should be able to do it while still equipped? Well, this Lord of Destruction expansion pack fixes these problems, and so much more! Not only now is your mercenary much more useful, but they can be resurrected (at a certain price), you got new weapons and armor, you have two new characters to choose from (an assassin or druid), new charms, runes, etc. I also love how your stash now has been doubled, so you can put in twice as many weapons, armor, potions, etc. as before. But there are certain weapons and armor that can only be used by certain characters, and if you're playing the one player feature, you can sell these weapons and armor you can't use because of character incompatibility for more gold. And best of all, you have a whole new quest after you finish killing off Diablo! Plus you can have higher resolution so you can see more of your surroundings. Remember: you have to have the original Diablo II in order to use this expansion pack, of course. I really think this expansion pack is essential, it gets rids of a lot of the drawbacks, making the game even more exciting.
"Lives up to Expectations...", Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo II expansion is an immensely fun and entertaining experience. Sticking very close to the original's formula, the expansion improves upon Diablo II in a variety of ways. Your expansion character is given a much larger stash and an additional space on his/her person with which to carry one extra set of weapons. Your hirelings now level up and you can equip them with armor and weapons. There are two new main character classes, the Assassin and Druid, which provide a break from the original five with their unique amalgam of skills. The new stage in which Act V takes place is immense, much larger than any of the previous levels and it provides new monsters and many more opportunities to level up your character. There is a smattering of new unique and magical items and weapons. Perhaps the biggest and most welcoming change is the update to the resolution. You can now view the action in 600x800 resolution. When you flip this on and play for a while you will really wonder how you ever put up with anything else. Diablo II: Lord of Destruction fully lives up to and exceeds the expectations of a Blizzard game.
