"Awesome" This game is more than 5 years old but I still play it a lot. The games against computers are quite long but still very easy so that's why I started to play multiplayer. When u master this game, it's awesome. It's not complicated, units are killed by other type of units so its really challenging to micro. Should buy it and play online cause it's gonna die soon =/
"this game needs major upgrades! and the computer is impossible! to beat! " this game has bad graphics! the helmets are square for cryin out loud! when you attack, the AI has excellent defences, and can always rout you. i had 300 or so tanks and infantry, and was attacking a settlement close to MY city, but was routed by a combination of AT guns, mortar fire, and helis. and that was with air support! if u dont want to attack, but want to wait for them to attack, youll be waiting for a long time! they almost never attack! and wen they do, its only a single unit or something! the ships, there ok, but i dont like how even in the modern age, the Bismark (a battleship)is still afloat. everyone knows that it was sunk during WW2! dont buy this game unless u hav a slow computer or just want a long game!
"Empire Earth" I havent played this game in forever, but I used to play it a lot. Its fun and addicting. Each multi-player game online lasts for at least 45 minutes if playing with a couple people. You start out with a town center, with about 5-20 villagers depending on the game type, then you have to collect resources. Like wood/gold/iron/food etc. Once you have a good amount, you have to build buildings, they vary, theres army buildings to create marines and all types of fighting units. You can build alot of things. Then you can build towers to protect your base and walls etc.
One thing thats cool is that you can have allies and build right next to them also. And another thing is that you can play is certain epochs of ages. Like Prehistoric, Middle Ages, Atomic Age (1945) etc, and the future. Its cool and theres alot. And if you play from the beggining in a certain amount of time you can reach the future by upgrading certain buildings and soldiers. A good game if its what your into. And the online is more fun than single player. But in single player, you can do missions already set up, I think its called "Campaigns". Good game here you should check it out.
"This is sooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" This is da best stratagy game of all time! Much better than the $@#$$# Rise of nations and the decent Age of empires 2. This is kinda expensive but is worth every penny.!
Pros: Great 3d graphics, sound, campagains, and gameplay! Lots of civ., units and buildings!
Cons: Kinda hard Editor is fustrating How the @#!% am i goin to get all those hotkeys!
Overall the game is great! Only 39.95 when my mom bought it!
"Crushing Good Fun, yes, yet somehow troubling" Empire Earth is an extraordinarily well put together game from almost any objective, "within the genre" perspective, as other reviews have mentioned the unit balance and combined arms aspect is excellent. The challenge factor is very high, and it's difficult to get much ahead of the AI in the normal game mode. You can have a LOT of units in exsistence all at once, and I often found myself wishing I could deputize other players, for example, to command my navy or helicopter fleet while I led the army or managed the economy. The game is a ton of fun, addictive, and will get inside your head.
And yet. There's no real way to negotiate with the computer players, and the goal of the game is either wonder construction or utter conquest. I almost always chose wonder construction, and the computer attacked my wonders with godawful savagery. When you're able to defend the wonders or crush all the other non-allied players, you win, and that's that. The creators of the game are either just looking to make a game and not a world sim, or are Machiavellian, zero-sum worldview security nuts of the Cleonic stripe. I eventually stopped playing the game altogether, because I couldn't deal with the endless war and the fact that the game gives you no way to make a lasting peace with your enemy. I feel this limited the game's replay value, and I wonder what the implications are, if such games are influencing a large number of people's worldview. We live in a troubled world ourselves, and we need to believe that peace between many nations is possible. Sadly, in Empire Earth, it is not.

What our customer's say!
"Even after so many years this game is a blast!", A real time strategy game. That allows your 'people' to evolve through the ages. From Pre-Historic age up to Cyber age. People who love WarCraft 2 will probably like this game.
You can play scenarios built into the game, or even more fun start your own LAN game and play with friends, with and against computers of various difficulties. You cut your own wood, gather food, mine stone, gold, and iron using peasents. With every age the voices and sayings of your 'people' change and evolve.
You can build walls. Setup towers and anti-aircraft for defense. You can wage battles on the high seas.
You can choose custom Civs to give your team an advantage at certain tasks of your choosing, be it farming, or archery, you have a certain number of points to purchase these benefits and it makes the game more interesting.
You can configure your game to start and end in whatever era you like. (we usually cut Cyber out and stop at Atomic).
I've been playing this game since it was released and we still find it to be our favorite. A family get together isn't complete without my 3 brothers, my husband and myself enjoying a day long game of Empire Earth.
"Not too complex, and very playable.", Sometimes older games can be more addictive then latest photo realistic battle royale.
The game is a standard RTS game where you civilization evolves from prehistoric up to a nano age. The game is quite addictive, since it doesn't use an overly complex set of unit behaviors, and left to them selves most units can handle enemy recon and scout probes.
The game has priests that can convert enemy units (great when you can get an entire battleship to convert and defect), and prophets who can bring on plagues, quakes, fire storms, and such. A boat full of well place prophets can save your butt if the AI team sudden advances to WWII tech while you're still driving around on horses.
The stock maps are kind of bland, but there are hacks for the game that make the maps more random. max sized random island maps are fun.
population and resource management are pretty simple. The Civs don't need infrastructure (homes increase morale, but aren't need for population). No long supply lines, etc.
Being an older game, you can run it with multiple AI enemies, 600+ units and no lag. Only glitch is that game will crash if you task switch or accidentally hit the windows button.
"Just as good as Age of Empires & Rise of Nations!", I'm suprised more people don't know about this game because if you're looking for a game that is a cross between Age of Empires and Rise of Nations, then this will give you exactly that:
Positive: 1.) Classic Age of Empires: When you play your very first single player game in Empire Earth you immediatly start off with cavemen just like the first Age of Empires. They talk, gather, walk, chop, and mine just as you'd imagine a caveman would do! 2.) Graphics: Here's where the game switches a bit more into Rise of Nations. Considering this is an older game, the graphics are great! They're just about like the ones in Rise of Nations and in some cases, better! 3.) Advancing: You have the option of starting in the PREHISTORIC age and working your way up to an age beyond our current one. You even go through WW1 and WW2! The ages take a lot of skill and time to advance through as opposed to AOE's and RON's where you can soar from ancient to present in a much quicker time. 4.) Animals: Many different kinds, and believe it or not, they mate. Whether you choose to gather their babies for food is up to you. =o 5.) Trees: You can walk and fight through them so unfortunately for all of us that hid behind them, we no longer can do this technique. 6.) Prophets: Beware of the prophets. In EA a prophet might set an earthquake on your town or perhaps a hurricane and every disaster is realistic and horrible. 7.) Intelligent game: Enemy soldiers know just where you're weak in your city. I built walls and set men and towers almost all around my city when I got attacked. I was shocked to see that the enemy found one very small wall that I forgot to guard. They attacked, ran my village down, and when I tried to run, they chased my villagers across the map (all three of them) and defeated me. Laugh if you want but that was not the least bit funny to me.
Negative: 1.) Difficulty: For some, the difficulty of this game might be their dream, but this game might not be for everyone. From the people that I know that play this game, all use cheats to beat it. Not because it's set on hard or moderate, no, because it's set on easy and the game is really that hard. It's not like AOE or RON where you can set it on easiest and almost for sure beat the game. You only have three choices and I doubt anyone has ever beat the game on moderate.
Summary: This has to be one of the best games I've played in a very long time. Maybe because I'm a fan of Rise of Nations, Age of Empires, and Age of Mythology, but either way this game is addicting and fun. It's a great alternative to the other games if you want to combine them all. I highly recommend it especially to all AOE and RON fans!
"Really fun for Everyone (man that was corny)", I'm not really an RTS guy, in fact I stink at them. I have only beaten the computer on my own on easy twice to put it in perspective. I still like the game. Why? 2 words: cheat codes. I also like the variety the game offers, but the AI is ridiculously difficult, even on easy. All in all a fun game b/c of the codes though.
P.S. while i'm a noob at RTS, i'm pretty good at FPS games ;)
"Empire Earth", If you like strategy games, you'll love this one.
Strategy games don't get old easily as long as it is classic. We have seen from Age of the Empires. They have values. The endless missions, the awesome graphics, and the okay sounds. Endless units are in this game, from cavemen to cyber machines in the 22th century. This game is all you are going to look for in a strategy game. This game is simply huge! And that's what's so enjoyable about it.

"coooooooooooooooooooool$$$$$", this game is the best game i played.don't believe those layers this game is fantastic with cool grabics you can't stop playing it.if you want to buy it buy it dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Its the best!", This game is the best! You get to build walls (unlike any other stretagy games) which has high hit points (HP) to protect you from most enemies and it can help your team mates!Building walls is fun! you can even put gates! Heck why am I saying this to you? You should play the game yourself and see if you like it!
"No Title", Even though it's not really fair, I tend to compare Empire Earth to Age of Empires II in my mind because they're so similar. Also since I'm a huge fan of Age of Empires II.
Empire Earth is a really nice game. The grapics are nice, it's nice to be able to select more than 40 units at once, it's great to be able to play from prehistoric times to the future and I like how modern prophets are basically bums wearing doomsday cardboard signs. It's really fun. It's amusing to create scenarios where you can have panzers fighting against hordes of swordsmen or rock throwers. The vast ammount of time it covers allows a lot of flexibility in creating your own scenarios.
My biggest complaints (that aren't significant enough to actually dent my opinion of the game) are the lack of Age of Empires II features. Maybe this is unfair because they're different games, but I miss being able to trade surplus resources in the market for resources I really need. I also don't like not being able to create trade cogs or trade carts.
However this is a fantastic game that every strategy gamer should at least try.
"Much better than Age of Empires", While Age of Empires only lets you control the far past, Empire Earth includes the past, the present, and even the future. There are a lot of great units which evolve as you progress through ages. The graphics are also much better than those in AOE. It is also full 3D. Also, the different scenarios, units, and structures are historically accurate. This includes the ancient Greeks and Romans, WWI, WWII, and much more. If you liked Age of Empires, you'll love Empire Earth. I highly recommend it.
"Improves upon the classic Age of Empires formula", Empire Earth could have easily been called Age of Empires 3 since the gameplay is so similar. As is typical with such games, resource collection, building institutions, and creating units is the bulk of gameplay. There are several ways to customize the game, including your choice of maps, civilizations, number of enemy civilizations, and so forth. One really good thing is that resources don't get depleted throughout the game, except for wood. That is, I was mining that same gold mine in epoch 8 as I was at the beginning of the game. Also, new units such as the hospital, prophets, wonders, and firearms add some interesting gameplay elements. I've only played the game once (for 12 hours straight!) and was defeated in the 8th epoch (Rennaissance?) by computer opponents who ganged up on me before I could maintain my 3 wonders for 2000 years. One thing that I noticed was that the gameplay is slow, largely due to the huge amounts of resources that you have to collect to advance through the ages. Also, the enemy AI is clever and ruthless even on the easiest difficulty setting. As with the Age of Empires games, diplomacy is a weak part of the game (also, there is no market for trading). Overall, I liked the gameplay, but I don't recommend trying to play through all 14 epochs--you can choose to limit the number you play--unless you don't mind playing the same game for days.
Graphics are decent. You can zoom in and out, but probably will not find a need to do so very often. They are an improvement over the graphics of the Age of Empires games, but not much. The music is okay and the special-effect sounds are nice. The villagers speak in English regardless of their civilization. If you enjoy strategy games or are a fan of the Age of Empires games as I am, you should like Empire Earth. However, in my opinion, this game is not the classic that these other games are because of its lack of originality and rather slow pace.
