"How about an expansion pack", Despite being an old game, this game is soo good that I wish someone would make an expansion pack for it (instead they came out with commando 3 which bombed).
This game takes time to learn, but its not too bad and once you get the hang of it, its the most fun ever! I liked its gameplay over other RTS games like Panzer and company of heroes, as it is more personal and enjoyable. There is an element of stealth needed rather than just fire power that some of the new RTS focus on. Overall I would encourage anyone who hasnt tried it to give it a shot, at current prices its a steal!

"Great Game", Great Game if you enjoy real time military action in a small real time strategy setting.

"Nice Game", I had played the original Commandos and wanted to play this one too. I must say that this game is real fun. It is a little hard but if you like challenges and you are a hardcore gamer, you will master the techniques quickly. Can't remain a n00b for a long time with this. You need to understand which commando is suited best for which action, although there are a lot of specialist activities which only one of them can perform.

The main upgrade or improvement I would think is that you can see inside closed doors, peep through key-holes, change the angles of viewing (this may have been there in the previous version too, can't remember). Wonderful gameplay, wonderful music, good graphics and very good missions.

Overall a very good game. :)

"THIS GAME IS JUST TOO HARD", If you loved the original 'Commandos' (as did I), this one is going to be a bit of shock for you. Sure there are huge improvements in graphics, but the gameplay is just too difficult.

Unlike the original 'Commandos' game the two training missions here teach you nothing atall. Your dumped into a small scenario and left to figure out for yourself which of the 30+ hotkeys do what. Useless.

And the game scenarios? There just seem to be groups of enemy soldiers waiting behind every door and around every corner...especially on the Colditz game. You'll open a door,with no idea what's behind it, and you'll find yourself in a room full of 5 soldiers, who see you within a couple of seconds and start shooting. And of course another 5 soldiers appear from the neighbouring rooms and join in, you don't stand a chance. This seems to be repeated across many of the maps, unlike the original game were such large groups of the enemy were uncommon.

Also unlike the original game,there's very little 'clear space'to move around in. If there's a clearing big enough to hold an enemy soldier, the developers have put one there,and another 2 or 3 watching him. The amount of enemy soldiers seems to have multiplied by ten compared to the first game. Sure the maps here are larger,but that makes no difference,the enemy are just everywhere you turn. it seems like you can't move in any direction for 5 seconds without bumping into at least one one.....and I won't even mention the numerous unarmed men who just seem to lurk about fixing fences and painting gates, then try and beat you up when you stumble over them!

I loved the first commandos game, but I've been playing(or trying to play!) Commandos 2 for a week now, and am just finding it frustratingly hard to get into. It just too easy to die, and the odds all too often seem overwhelmingly stacked against you....and this is on the 'easy' level! The easy level on this game seem to be ten times harder than the hard level on the original.

If you're going to buy this, be prepared to spend a couple of weeks getting into it and figuring it out.You will NOT be able to just jump into this and have an enjoyable gaming session, even if you were an expert on the old Commandos game.

This would have been the PERFECT game if only the training helped to train you, and the 'easy' level WAS easy! I'm giving it just 2 stars because of the stupendous difficulty in getting started,the stupendous amount of enemy soldiers, and the stupendously hard 'easy' level. If it played as well as the original, it'd be 5,no question.

"Best game ever!", What a great game!!! Very very hard, which makes it totally worth your money..great graphics ( close up isnt as bad as everyone says) and great gameplay..takes a bit to get used to, but believe me, its worth the wait :-)

Overall 5 stars, and it would receive more if available :-)

"Could Be The Best WWII Game If Not For A Few Problems", This game is the best. It carries the commando series to an amazing level. With so many new options and new characters it tops all other games. Great gameplay, very realistic, but if you can, buy the PS2 version instead. This is the best game ever, if you can get it to work. It always crashes, or freezes, or just wont install. Its a great game When it works, but dont get it unless you want to risk ...up your computer. I've tried it on 4 computers and it only works on 1, and then about only half the time. Great gameplay, will drive you nuts trying to get it to work. That is a garantee.

"Great Strategy Game", I Have Played all of the Commandos games and this by far is the best. The characters have more actions and skills. You can climb poles. You can enter anything that there is. This is all around a great game

"Good game, but very difficult in the beggining.", I bought this game after reading great reviews online and in magazines. But after playing and failing at the first two training levels that you have to beat in order to start a game, I put the game away in frustration. I bought this game for 40.00 dollars and i only got to play 1/16 of it.

"commandos 2", I think commandos 2 is a really good game.
it deserves 5 stars easily.

"Gomez likes this game ok", This game was a little boring, but the huge maps somewhat made up for it. Most levels would have one part that was pretty fun. In one level, your men are in a city that is being ambushed by 100s of enemy soldiers. The gameplay is nice and this is the kind of game that you could eat a taco while playing(you don't really have to pay too much attention.)
