"one of my favorite installments(IMO)", one of my favorite, a nice comeback of the old ff's, a good pick meup from 8, which was solid at most, i think they were tryin somethin different on that chapter of this series, tho as everythins not perfect best we can do is hope that things turn out for the better after a chip in somethin, which things do in time, id cal IX a recall of the old days of rpgs, replays good storyline good, battle system good, overall id recommend this, tho as most would say its not as good as 7, and well considering 7 was first rpg to hit 3d graphics n all its not worth the fuss of either bein called cool or put down for discussing over something thats really stupid to discuss, most ppl who post threads on this series arent really soaking in whats important, the gameplay,feeling, they turn to it and squash it for poor graphics, cmon you brats this game is 10+ yrs old, those polygons were a big thing back in the 90s...enough of that, although ive posted this 7 was good, id recommend it to a friend or random person, but not without noting about all the other great titles of this series, gotta let them explore ya kno ;)

"My daughter loves this game.", I bought this game for my daughter and she loves it. She had played it and now finised the game but still plays it over and over again in between other games.

"Welcomeback to your Roots", Final Fantasy IX is everything a final fantasy should be. This game really takes you back to the roots of the series in a way only final fantasy can. the animation is beautiful the cgi cut scenes are great the summons look great. the battle system is easy and fun with the combination of synth shoppe makes the game more complex and deep. the story is amazing the landscapes are breath taking and the airships are beautiful.
This is one of my faviorate Final Fantasys I could Play this one over and over and never get sick of it.

"No it's not FF8 or FF7. So be warned...", You can't have three in a row right? Or technically 4 in a row if you count the amazing FF3/FF6.

Well be warned. While this is a heart-warming game in certain aspects it's also somewhat more dark in tone. If FF8 was supposed to be an ode to movies, then FF9 is an ode to plays. Unfortunately it's one of those tragedies. There's also little exciting or compelling about it. You get the airship with about 2 minutes to go in the story... and considering it was the last airship you'll ever "fly" in the standard Final Fantasy universe it's somewhat sad. It's a very good game, just an "ok" Final Fantasy. Stick with FF7, 8, 10, and 12.

"Great game to play", Final Fantasy IX

This is a great game for anyone who is either experienced at RPG's or just starting out. It has a great storyline that you can get into by either leaving the character names the way they are defaulted or put a personal touch and name them after yourself and friends.

"great!", this was the 3rd final fantasy game i've played... i have enjoyed every single one so far! this is one of my favorites.. probably second.. :D

the story is different compared to the other final fantasies but it's still very interesting! really enjoyed playing it again.. after... 7 or 8 years.. really worthwhile! yeah!

"Great.", I'll admit, I'm a bit biased. Personally this is one of my least favorite games in the series. But that doesn't mean it isn't fun. The name Final Fantasy does come with certain standards. For example, I love the method of learning new skills in this game, although I wanted to swear at Square for the new Limit Break system, in this game called 'Trance'.

Trance is out of your control. Once the gauge fills up, you automatically use it. You get a slightly different but very shiny new costume, and with that comes a massive boost in power and access to special techniques. The gauge empties out with each action you take, so after about three turns you change back to normal, and regardless of how full it was when the fight ended, it empties out when the fight is over. This means it's nearly impossible to actually make use of it in, say, a boss fight. More often than not you end up wasting it on some random battle just before the boss fight actually begins, and it takes way too long to fill up to just run around before the fight. If you have a life. It's sad, really.

Other than that, I think the game was great. The characters were all fun, and the story was very interesting. It was a very nice change from the previous titles in the series, which isn't bad at all. You should definitely own this game.

"A great game, but a bit dated", This great classic is starting to get old, but is still a blast to play and the last "classic" Final Fantasy

"Wow this game is still going strong!!!", Well you are probably not gonna believe me but...Ever since this game came out it was around $35.00 and ever since after its release it was reduced to 20.00.And it has been like that ever since,even today it is 20.00 new.Not because its a crappy game.No its because it is an excellent game.An excellent price for an excellent game.No i'm not gonna spoil it for you cause i want you to buy it.I have owned this game since 2000,and its not cause i'm a huge fan of the final fantasy series,its that this game is simply one of the best,including final fantasy 7.FF9 includes great music,great graphics for the playstation 1 and an overall excellent storyline that gives you the chills every time.I love this game.I'm 18 and i still play it today,take my word for it you will not be disappointed.If you want more info on this game just tell me and ill gladly reply.This is what rpg is all about =)

"Final Fantasy 9", This game, while hard to find, is worth every penny. The storyline, graphics, and tactics make for hours of amusement and the music is some of the best I have heard in any video game. Definately a thumbs up!
