"Great game - a lot of fun", This is a fun game. I can't believe it has gotten such bad reviews. All you have to do is listen. The characters tell you exactly what to do. I can't believe full-grown adults can't do this game. It's a children's game. It's very simple. It would be nice if it were more different when playing through again. It makes it too easy the second time around. It's a good game to get out every now and then when you have forgotten where things were last time.

"What a great game!", I think I am buying this now for the fifth time (for one of the grandparents' house)...our 3-14 year old nephews and 6 year old niece LOVE this game, and so do my husband and I. It's intriguing enough for just about everyone. Unlike other reviewers (ahem!), I shall not give away any of the pathways for getting through the game. After all, the fun is in finding them out. However, for the youngest, it is good to know the game well, so you can give hints in the right direction, sometimes quite literally. As a student of music, I was pleasantly surprised on how accurate your timing has to be to get more scooby snacks when you get down with the wizard. This is not an easy game, nor is it short, both making it all the better for a game you don't just play a couple of times then forget about. If you like challenge, you will really enjoy this game. And, yes, like Showdown in Ghost Town, Jinx at the Sphinx, etc, it's remarkably like the cartoon series in sound, prose, and image.

"The trick to solving the mystery is...", This game is a lot of fun and requires a good deal of focus. The trick to getting around the game environment and solving the mystery is to listen closely to all of the clues. I found that when adults played the game they had a hard time catching all of the dialogue clues because they wanted to rush through and get to the end. This and the other two Scooby-Doo mystery series titles from The Learning Company provided my family with hours of fun, we just had to listen to the clues.

"A good game!", I found this game to be very enjoyable. Yes, it was challenging the first time, but that's what makes it fun. Anyways, I recommend Phantom of the Knight to anyone that likes Scooby-Doo.

"Great fun & learning", My 5-yr-old LOVES this game! With an age range being 5-10 I thought it'd be too hard for her, but after I showed her how to play, she can solve the mystery with her favorite characters. Yes, it is basically the same mystery over & over, but that's what she likes about it (It's like reading a favorite book again & again). There's alot of logic & sequencing needed & builds memory skills. You have to remember how to get to all the different rooms through many secret passages and find the clues in a certain order. This is loads of fun. We will be getting the rest of these mystery adventures.

"An exercise in frustration", If I could give this game 0 stars, I would. The box says "kids can play independently. Provides help when your child needs it." This is completely untrue. Like another parent here, I tried to play it myself after my child went to bed, but still was stuck. The help section just tells you what to do with characters, mazes, and games that you can't get to. It was no help whatsoever. I hope this review saves someone a purchase. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this! I will be returning this one to Amazon!

"I've played adult games that were easier", I bought this game because my son is a Scooby freak. He played it and couldn't get beyond 1 suspect and one clue. So I played it after he went to bed and I couldn't either. I thought I must be missing something. I went in every room, I clicked on everything. Help was worthless. I thought I must be missing something simple but I guess others have this same problem. Wish I read these reviews before I bought it.

"A well-designed game", I bought The Phantom of the Knight for my five-year-old. It is one of his first adventure-type computer games, although he is an old hand at the Reader Rabbit type CDs. It took a lot of persistence to finally obtain all the clues, but for some reason this game did not frustrate my son nearly as much as some games do. He has played it several times since, and still enjoys it.

I thought the animation and the writing were pretty good, and the user interface was intuitive and presented no problems at all. There are some funny spots that always get a laugh out of my son.

There isn't much variation in the game when played at the three difficulty levels. On different runs, a different character will turn out to be the villain, but finding who is the villain is not really the point of the game.

I would not try to install this game on an older computer that's already fairly "maxed out," as my son's is. This one went on Mom's 800 MHz Dell, and we had no technical problems.

Overall, my son and I heartily recommend this game.

"Fun! My son loves this game.", My five-year old really enjoys this game. I really enjoyed playing it with him the first time. While I find that playing it more than once is dull, my son can play it again and again (by himself!).

The game requires that he listen to what is said, remember clues and locations, and to conduct a thorough search. While I wouldn't call this game educational, I still find it to have some positive merits. Additionally, as a gamer myself I think that this is an appropriate adventuring game for a 5-8 year old and builds some of the skills needed for more complex adventuring games.

We had no trouble what-so-ever installing the product. We popped in the disk, clicked install, and everything worked great. My five-year old could have installed this!

"scooby doo and the phantom of the knight disappoints", As a person with considerable experience at the computer, I was diasppointed in this game. After several hours, I had produced only one suspect and one clue. The directions for operating the
toolbar to acquire clues or evidence did not work for me. I have
mastered other games of considerable difficulty, so I was relieved to see that other reviewers had similar problems to my
own with this game. Pass on this one and try something else!
