"Regretful purchase"
Having purchased MS Flight Sims before, I assumed this one would be a similar type program. Instead, I find it uses comic book characters! My first inpression was disgust; misled and sorry for buying the product.

The vendor I purchased this was J-R's and their service was absolutely excellent. The order arrived the same day another purchase from Amazon arrived. This was unprecedented and truly excellent service. I thank the vendor for their services, but the product was a "bad buy".

"air war in WW 2"
this is as close as i have come in any of my WW 2 air war simulators to being realistic, you are in the cockpit and see enemy and shot your guns and acctually see them rip into the other air plane, fantastic and holds true to the microsoft flight simulator series with even more realism, i give it 5 stars and recommend if you are a combat sim collector or just player dont miss out on this buy,

well worth the money and hours of fun and diffrent air craft to fly, just great overall

"Lacks the game factor"
I purchased this game as a replacement for the venerable Aces Of The Pacific. While the game is a great flight simulator and is extremely involved The combat simulator leaves a lot to be desired. With all the intricacy of the flight model it seems they left out a lot of the fighting model. Planes that I know could do an Immelman turn in combat simply cannot do that in this simulator. Also the selection of planes is maybe half of the Aces of the Pacific selection, which adds to the disappointment. I would like to see someone update the Aces series for new computers so that these half baked attempts are knocked off of the shelf and into the serious Flight simulator only genre.

"Pretty good "
This is a very good flight sim. CFS 1 was better in the graphics area. This has a way better story line though. This had wonderful graphics too but not as great as the first combat flight simulator.

Some of the complaints I have about this game are

1. Your wingmen are useless when you want them to do something

2. Even though the game is pretty long I wish it stopped at the surrender of Japan or the Americans victory

3. It is too easy to complete missions.


Other than that this is a flawless game.

"Pretty good: not great"
When I got the game, I was all hyped up about it, because it was my first flight sim. It is a pretty good game. But after a while is got redundent and a bit boring. Here are the positives and the negatives.

Positives:
-Great plane graphics: inside and out
-Great bullet simulation: the g-force is really realistic
-Realistic missions: you have wingmen, etc.
-Landing and taking off is fun: starting the engine, throttle, etc.
-Awsome crashing graphics: tail or wing flies off and your plane is flaming

Negatives:
-It's very hard to learn the controls: basically it's "find out for yourself"
-Unless you have a joystick, it's not nearly as realistic
-The guy who speaks to you on the radio is almost incomprihensable
-The ship size to your size is not realistic at all
-Ships are basically grey blobs with towers on them
-For one plane the controls are twisted
-The tail rudder hardly works at all

All in all, the graphics are great but the controls are messed up
