"It even can be better prg than Fallout 2" Largest world that I have ever seen Talk, sneak, fight and many other options to solve any quest in game Story is good Open world Good npc system You can play it again and again and still you found things that you have never done before.
Game mechanics isn't best in world, but if you can live with it, then this is one of best games in world history.
"Arcanum" I really liked the aspect that you could use your own mp3 files as background music in the game. It has more of a fantasy feel to it rather than Fallout. Great game overall.
"One of the best game" This game, along Fallout and PlaneScape Torment are the best isometric third person RPG for me. The open character development is the main appeal.
"Not the latest or the greatest graphics...But still the best!" Arcanium is an older PC game but not at all out of date, and you don't need a trillion gigabit, super custom graphic card, quadruple pentium processor monster PC to play it. Yet I have not played a RPG any bigger, grander in scale or as open ended as Arcanium. You travel from place to place mostly by steam engine, or you can, if you like, walk through the vast wilderness between one city or quest to the next, occassionally fighting various wild animals or monsters along the way, but it could take literally days non-stop to do so. But its just cool to know the spaces in between are really there and not just a concept as in Baldur's Gate and other RPG's.
But the best thing about Arcanum is its sence of humor about itself. For instance you can go to a certain house of ill repute to gain quests or just for fun. You pick from a bevy of lovely ladies (or fellows), each having their own traits. With one, I recall, the lights go out and when you awake on the floor all your health and mana are drained to nearly empty due to the wild style of this particular vixen. In this same brothel you can actually choose a sheep...I did (hey,I had to try it!). I think the sheep had little love hearts flowing from it when the lights came on.
"My very favorite game of all time" And I play a significant number of games. Arcanum's got charm to spare, and a great leveling-up system. The combat system is...not the best, but it's more than made up for by everything else.

Why I buy this one ?
- Character Creation: No More Character Classes. Arcanum uses a classless, point-based system where players use points to "buy" attributes. You're only limited by your own creativity in guiding your character's development.
- Complex Stat-Driven System: Take charge or your own growth in the game environment. A deep and complex statistical system underlies every event that takes place within Arcanum. These include:
- 8 basic stats (including Strength and Charisma), and more than a dozen derived stat (such as Poison Resistance and Character Speed)
- 16 primary skills (such as Gambling, Healing, and Lock-Picking)
- 80 spells within 16 colleges
It's better to buy this one too...

What our customer's say!
"I LOVE this game!", I love this game! I was so glad to find it since I lost my original a while ago and they don't sell it in stores anymore. Even better it works with Vista Home Premium! I was worried I wouldn't be able to run it with all of Vista's issues but I have played the game 3/4 of the way through without a glitch.
"dONT wORRY bE hAPPY ", u CANT LOOSE IF YOU LIKE THE CLASSICS. HTIS IS BY FAR THE BEST AND MOST EXCLUSIVE WORK I HAVE WITNESSED..Arcanum is the premier RPG and all others fit into the Arcanum mold.If Yoyu Appreciate A Fantastic RPG Journey ..Dont Fret Go 2 Arcanum Youll Be Glad You Found A Ticket..Good Luck And GodSpeed
"Great game. NOT THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING!!!", Eventhough this game is one of my all time, favorite games. The picture that they use(d if changed) to show the game is honestly False. And I Bought the game thinking that I would get the jewelcase and everything that came with the game, when it was new (the picture thet makes it look like the game come in a box). But that was not the case (think the normal plastic game case that's used when they try to get out the last cents out of the game).
So as i said, this is a great game that deserved a purchase when Troika existed and it still deserves a buy now. I just hope, that the original creators atleast get royalties, for mine and yours purchase.
I let others tell a more indepth and (more grammaticaly correct) objective review.
"Arcanum", Great rpg. Has one of the best skill system evere, where you choose between magic and thecknology. It look a bit out dated graphical, but if your a fan of turned based rpgs this is a sure wonner.
"In my opinion the game is great.", This is a really great for the style and type it is. I personally love non-linear type games that have plenty of side quests and each action determines a different outcome... just like in real life. Arcanum is highly playable and highly replayable. There are a few kinks in the script of the game and a few glitches here and there, but they don't affect the overall gameplay quality. Arcanum has to be what you're looking for in a game or you won't like it. It's that simple... the same holds true for any game. You don't need other people's opinions about it. Go try it for your self!

"Entertaining, if challenging role playing game.", I'd recommend searching Google for a walkthrough and using it while playing. This game is difficult, even impossible to finish, if your seemingly sensible choices are in fact ill-fated. And only someone who's finished can tell you if they are! I quit playing after investing scores of hours in the game because I didn't want to go back and undo some of the early role playing choices I'd made, though I'm tempted now and then a year after I quit to start all over again--this time with a walkthrough. No shame here. I just want to finish the game!
"Adventure For The Ages!", Pros Engrossing atmosphere, beautiful soundtrack, intuitive controls, great story and side-quests, just a great game.
Cons Difficulty at some points, dated (but beautiful) graphics, on-line play, a few bugs.
The Bottom Line It is my personal opinion that Arcanum is one of (if not THE) greatest RPG adventures of all-time. I recommend this game to any and all RPG fans.
Arcanum, by the now-defunct Troika Games (Fallout, Greyhawk: TToEE, Vampire: TmB) is by far my favorite computer role-playing experience of all time. I first played the unfinished demo version of Arcanum obtained from a Computer Gaming World demo disk, and was quickly drawn into the world of Shrouded Hills (the first town you encounter, filled with all types of characters from traders to thieves). I found the controls rather intuitive and the story quite engrossing. The NPC interaction was beautifully scripted (if not a little buggy in afterthought) and each character had their own uniqueness (who can forget the likes of Doc Roberts or the tormented soul of Charles Bregho? I won't get into specifics, as it may give away integral plot-lines). I only bought the game later in the year (some while after it's release) and found the game as whole to be the most satisfying computer gaming experience I have ever had. Filled with adventure, intrigue, mystery, suspense and surprises, Arcanum rarely failed to keep me on the edge of my seat. I still feel this way about Arcanum, and the game never fails to give me a thrill every time I replay it (and re-buy it, due to damaged disks - I'm bad that way).
The point-and-click gameplay is simple, and combat is a sinch for Diablo and Baldur's Gate type players alike. Just clicking on something you wanted to pick up, or click on someone to immediately talk or attack. Spells and skills (such as your magickal skills or technological abilities) are easily accessed on the main interface through shortcuts as well. The main storyline as well as numerous (that's an understatement) side-quests will keep your attention all the way through the game. The character creation and customization is another of Arcanums shining spots. You can literally create any character your mind can imagine - from Half-Orc Air Elementalists to Human Pirates and Dwarven Shotgun-wielding Necromancers.
I personally have nothing bad to say about this game except for the difficulty. At times it can be more challenging than needs be, but this is easily overcome with some extra leveling/questing. I never found the soundtrack to be repetitive or boring as some have suggested. In my opinion it is a beautifully composed orchestral symphony which adds multitudes to the atmosphere of Arcanum. The graphics, though isometric (almost top-down) and 2-D pixel-based and considered to be very dated, draw you into the world. The effects used, such as spells, explosions, etc. are done very well and look convincing. Every item and person seems to have been given care during the creation of the game, made apparent by the wide variety and beauty of in-game weapons, armor, gems and even necklaces. I highly suggest this game for ANY RPG/CRPG fan (especially those of games like Diablo, Baldurs Gate, Fallout, Morrowind, etc). This is a rare gem that every RPG fan should not go without even trying.
The demo version is still available online (though most likely not for much longer) at [...]for your playing pleasure. The world of Arcanum has absorbed me, let it take you away as well.

"Good rpg similar to Baldur's Gate 2", Arcane it is indeed with plenty of depth and a nice original setting. Have to say it's slightly flawed by not quite perfect design and balance (e.g. guns aren't much use) but overall it's a still great game. I was obsessed with it for quite a while, and the world it's set in is created in exceptional and original detail (lore). Loved bits like having combat gear and city gear and the many ways to go about quests and such, similar to Fallout by the same team. Some things were wrong but quite funny like the way the other guys in your party would suddenly attack you like mad dogs if you inadvertently caused them any damage or the way they would pick up things you dropped like newspapers (just put them in the bin). None of these were major flaws though. I also loved the way different traders would act differently and the gaining of blessing of as many gods as possible based on an arcane understanding of them. Overall a great game, if a little dated now.
"One of my favorite RPGs", I love Arcanum's depth. The story line is complex and open enough that you can roam about without killing the storyline (most of the time). The music and setting is a welcome change. The charcter backgrounds help round out characters nicely. Magic characters are a lot easier to use than tech characters; they sure have a lot less stuff to carry. The tech tree is a bit difficult to get used to. The Arcanum Guide is definately worth buying. It can be a bit awkward to pick items up at times, and it's possible to drop something important, and not realize you lost it until much later (when it is too late to recover the item). Arcanum is a "save often" game. I would love to see a follow on game using an engine similar to that of Neverwinter Nights. And I would like to have a lot more female races available. Overall, Arcanum is hours of fun. I've had the game for years, and still enjoy playing.
"Different game, lots of fun", This game is pretty different from any other RPG out there, and that makes this game quite a bit of fun. I played this game over 4 times--great replayability.
