"Monster Cable", Is a good item if all of the plugs you are using stand upright and are standard sized. I got it to sit against a wall for sideways plugs. Holds plugs tightly so you'll have to push a little. No problems with it so far.

"The thing fried", After a few weeks the thing just fried. All devices plugged into it went off. The rest button did nothing. Exactly the same as what Douglas Schifter wrote in a previous review. No damage to any devices but I don't even thing there was a power surge. The lights (plugged in elsewhere) did not flicker. The thing just burned out. That's not very "Monster". I've replaced it with a surge/power strip made for computers (3000 joules protection) that was half the price of the Audio/Video Monster version (1400 joules protection). Monster is overpriced and inferior.

"One heck of a cord", I don't know what some of you are talking about when you say that this is an inferior product. Monster is a really good, quality brand. The outlets are tight, so you don't have to worry about your cords coming out and losing power. It might be a bit much, but it's not that hard to get in. Someone said they had to put their full weight into it to get plugged in, they must be a wimp since a small guy like me was able to easily push it in with a little force. It looks a bit fruity, but it works really well. Plus the long cable is nice to have since none of my outlets are near my computer desk.

"A LITTLE "WEAK" IN ENDURANCE !!", After a year, the unit started shutting off, the least little touch of the rocker switch would bring it back to life for a short time !! Monster said they would replace it--$4.75 to ship back and would have to buy an interim unit !! But, hey all things wear out, but the Monster reputation takes a hit with this one !!

"A Piece of @#$&*", That's what this so-called power strip is. Like others have mentioned, I could not fit ONE plug of any of my electronic equipment into the outlets. Not one! To those who gave this product anything other than a 1 star you must not have purchased the same product because unless you want to damage the plugs on your good audio/video equipment this strip is a piece of expletive-deleted!!

I was initially attracted by the brightly color-coded outlets which match my living room decor but after trying it out and finding not one well-fitted outlet, I consider myself out of $13.00 cuz you can't repackage this piece of expletive-deleted and send it back.

I got a better deal from a 99cent store. Monster ought to be ashamed of themselves for selling such a piece of expletive-deleted.!!!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"colorful idea", This color coded powerstrip is such a good idea. I am always unplugging the wrong device but with this strip, I have put a small piece of tape on the back of each appliance and know exactly what I am unplugging. It also will lay absolutely flat--others that I have used are always tipping over. I rate this five stars for a simple idea that works just great.

"Great Price", Just bought one at Best ___ for $29.95 plus tax. Needed it for Big TV that was arriving earlier than expected otherwise would have done it via Amazon. There price is just about 50% less.
PS: Also wrote review on how my new 58" TV was an $1100 dollar savings via Amazon as well.

"Good quality but a bit pricy", You pay more for the Monster name. Good quality but I am not sure this is better than a slightly cheaper competitor's model. Trouble is you can't really tell unless you get a bad surge so I went with the name brand and the $10K insurance policy.

I do like the flat plug feature as I have limited space between my dsk and the wall plug.

"Compact and does not cheap as mentioned in other reviews", Compact surge protector, does it's job well, the rating of this surge protector is 555 Joules. The tags that it comes with are helpful

"Not the best protection, but better than standard strips", The AV600 looks like a pretty standard power strip with bright colors painted on to help you organize and categorize your connections. Stickers and cable guides come with the strip to help you organize.
The strip seems to be well built, but I really can't say for sure whether it can live up to its claims. I guess only an independent testing lab could do that.
As far as the rated protection level, you could probably find another power protector that has a higher rating for a similar price. However, my experience with the Monster branded products has been favorable, so I really bought this item based on the company reputation and past experience.
One benefit of this power protector is that you can plug it in with the flat power connector and move your furniture (if applicable) close to the wall, unlike normal power strips where the plug sticks way out.

If you have really high end equipment, or live in Florida as I do, I would recommending spending a little extra for more 'protection'.
