"Armada is just like it sounds."
I have had this game since it came out and has been a blast. Armada- Long Long number of ships. It is a lot fun. Ship after ship comes out of your shipyard u can have up to 10 Fleets of ships or more go at it agaist the Feds, the Roms, The Kilgons or THE BORG. Fight Head to head or on 8 player map on muiltplayer.(Note: If u can find patch v1.1 and v1.2 so u can play muiltplayer) for a game thats been around for a while people still play it and have fun.

"The Best Game Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Star Trek Armada is the greatest game ever.Once you learn how to build and command your troops (I reccomend multiplayer for this) this game just keeps on getting better. In the first mission you just have to distroy a few Jem'Hadar strike crusers, but you have the Enterprise and two akira class ships so it's real easy. Then I was hooked wen the Premonition appeared and told Picard that the Borg were about to return and wipe out the Federation. The you had to sve it from two borg spheres. After you do so you have to hurry off to stop the Borg.Throughout the campaign you will get to play as the Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, and the Borg. After you beat each race's campaign you unlock the final mission. In multiplayer you can play on the internet or LAN.You can play with all four races in a bevy of maps.Combine all this, great controls ,and a wonderful story to make what I call the best game ever!

"Best of the last of Activision"
If you are a star trek fan, and like strat. games, and just get a kick out of watching a dozen starships going at it, then get this game. Then get on the intenet and download an even better version of the game made by the fans. I dropped my PS2 infavor of star trek armada modifications. GO MILLENNIUM PROJECT!!!

"Star Trek Armada I"
When I first started playing this game, it was challenging and I found it quite interesting. I've played this game for about 3 years on and off, and I love it. However, it gets easy after a while, but dont let that keep you from enjoying this game. It's a lot more fun playing it with friends over an internet or Local Area Network connection. Have Fun!!!

"Star Trek - Armada"
I thought the game was very fun and good. You have the Federation,Borg,Romulans, and Klingons. The Ferengi, Dominion, Breen and Cardassians also make appearances. It has the habit of sometimes crashing but that doesn't happen a lot. One thing I was disappointed with is how short and easy the missions were, even with the setting on hard they were easy. The graphics were good. It has a good multiplayer connection and instant action against the computer. If you are a trekkie it wouldn't hurt you to buy it! Also the game I have does work on Windows XP.

"Star Trek Strategy", A great game for strategy game players. Star Trek fans will love it, science fiction fans will love it, gamers will like it.

The game lets you take the role as the Federation, Klingon, Roumulan, or Borg factions playing the same over all story but from the others point of view. Each side has it's own start, and all lead up to the fight with the Borg and their renewed invasion of Sector 001.

"Try and find Armada 2 if you can", This review is written in light of owning a copy of Armada 2, so I will begin by saying that if you can find a copy of Armada 2 (they've become somewhat rare) then I reccomend that title over this one, but failing that, this is also decent.
Armada has several flaws that keep it from being a truly great game, but several nice touches as well.
Armada fails in it's strategic edge for gameplay, and further in the simplification of both Borg graphics and the function of various ships. In this game, the ships you produce behave much like footmen in Warcraft 3, the only difference being that your ships can be seen dogfighting and shooting each other with phasers and from time to time, being assimilated.
The function of ships also carries a few flaws, and the races are diverse enough to offer a few different options to battle, but for the most part, the same strategy works for any race: Blockade an enemy base and use built (or captured) artillery vessels to pummel its defenses until you can safely attack with your battlefleet.
The games economy is also overly simplified, starbases produce officers, a unit cap, each starbase you control adds to your crew pool ( a resource you will never find yourself running short of) and dilithium moons provide the only demand resource. Gameplay therefor has the same frustrating tendancy seen in Starcraft, victory is a function of who can gather the most dilithium the fastest, and not a question of who can outwit thier opponents.
The scaling on the ships is also terribly off. A Soveriegn is a fine, powerful ship, but it should not be able to singlehandedly eliminate three borg cubes, and although I understand this was a balance issue, I feel that it ultimately detracts from the games potential.
The next borg related quam I have here is the borg art. They have chosen to use a mesh-like mass to represent the borg utilitarian look, all wires and pipes and stuff showing on the surface, but it rather just ends up looking like a big green (or try pink as your player color, that's really funny) blob that is only reminiscent of a borg cube.
Where this game shines, and it does a little, is in its singleplayer campaigns, which have a decent set of storylines and some good voice talent. The federation campaign has the benefit of Patrick Stewart and Micheal Dorn, Stewart reprising locutus for the borg campaign, and as a special surprise to those who were her fans, Denise Crosby returns as the wily Admiral Sela, to champion the romulan cause in a souped up D'Deridex.
Overall, it's not a bad game, but given that Armada 2 exists, it pales and loses a lot of its appeal.

"Star Trek: Armada ", "The game crashes while playing in windows xp", it only happened with me twice.
Life span of the game is defiantly short. The story line is perfectly imitative from the original star trek series.
If you are a star trek fan, you will enjoy it. As for me, I'll continue with Starcraft and hope that a game is released soon.

"excellent", doeasn't need a patch, not buggy, just excellent (Win98, runs on Me as well, and therefore XP too). Lots of fun, long hours of gameplay, adddictive. Can go back and play other levels over that you mde it through and won already. CAn alt clickl or double click and hold and drag for close-up veiws of anything . Better than Armada II. Easy, once you get the hang of it. Plannig and strategy wins the game. Manufacture what you need with resouces. Fun to rescue damaged ships and repair them. Save the Steamruner class ships at all costs; they are the best for long-distance assaults ansd you cannot make them.

"Excellent game.", This is a really cool game. The graphics are great. They're better than the two dimensional graphics of Starcraft. If you liked Starcraft you'll like this one. My only complaint would be the unrealistic size relationships between the Borg and other ships and between the starships and starbases.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Happily Ever After", I'm a first time buyer from here. I forgot I ordered the game, but was happy when I got. I can't wait til I get off work tonight to play it again. It was exactly as advertised. I'd order from the seller again, no doubts about it.

"Incredibly Buggy", There is no one out there that wants games based on Star Trek more than I, but at a minimum they must be stable to be worthy of the Star Trek brand. This game is buggy to the point where I've never played a complete game, and gave up in disgust sickened with the instabilities.
I'm running it on a supported system with a supported video card, and Activision was absolutely worthless in troubleshooting the numerous problems I faced, and I did work with them and follow their instructions, and provide them with requested information.

A definate "do not buy" - and it definately makes me think twice or thrice before throwing money away on another Activision title.

"Very fun, but old", This game rocks! The graphics are good. You can choose between the Klingons, the federation, the romulans, and the borg. You can go to Star Trek's website and get downloads like creating your own map. The only problem is that your computer has to be very powerful to run it.

"My Review of Star Trek: Armada", Star Trek: Armada is one of the best Star Trek games I've played alough I was a bit disapointed that I coulden't build a Galaxy Class. The only way you can use a Galaxy Class is playing one of the Final Missions or using the multiplayer map "The Junkyard" by salvaging a wreked Galaxy Class. One neat thing about the game is that Patrick Stewart and Michal Dorn both voice characters in this Game (Picard/Locutus, Worf). The strangest thing about the game is how Picard meets Locutus which is strange because they are both the same person (or Borg, or whatever). If you like action I whould recomend this game. If you like action without waiting for ships to be built than I reccomend Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force.

"A marriage of the RTS genre and Star Trek can't lose.", Star Trek Armada is an addictive game. After completing 20 challenging missions as the Federation, the Klingon, the Romualns, the Borg, and finally as a combined task force against a Borg invasion you'll be ready to take a crack at the online arena. You can play against up to seven other palyers and (with effort) create your own game maps, or download others maps from many different websites. You can also download mods, game modifications created by other gamers to enhance the game. These mods range from adding a singe ship to converting the Star Trek world into a clash between the Empire and the Rebels (Star Wars), or even the Federation against the Star Wars universe.
One unique and powerful attribute of this game is it's graphics engine. No matter haw many units you build, no matter how bloody the battle with explosions and the like, the game will not get sluggish or even miss a frame (however there is some lag over slow internet connections, try to play against people with low pings).
A great side effect of the popularity of this game is the proliferation of "clans". These clubs of gamers band together to make "war" against other "clans". Some clans have upwards of fifty active members, though most have around ten. ...BR>This is a must have for RTS buffs and Trekkers alike.
