"Great cables but not new as stated", Speaking on order from "wholesalecables". Cables were just twist tied in the shipping box. Were in decent condition but looked as if they been used slightly. Are official cables but no box. Worked perfect for me so I ain't complaining. If you can't do component cables then this is the next best for picture quality.

"Sony Playstation 2 S-Video Cable ", The cable works fine. It is better than the composite cable the unit comes with. I was replacing another svideo I gave to my friend, but I am happy with the cable.

"Great Cable", The cable I received wasn't from Sony, nevertheless, I can confirm that the cables indeed make the colors noticeably sharper. Just some things to say: if you're used to plugging in your console in front of the TV, the S-video port usually isn't there. So you may need an extension cable if you have a good sized TV and don't want to sit too close.

Anyways, a worth-it buy if you're an avid ps2 gamer.

"AWESOME", S-Video cable makes graphics significantly SHARPER and better than regular stock AV cables. About 5 to 10 times sharper IMO.

This cable is way too rip. Get the ten dollars Pelican S-Video cable instead; it performs great like Sony.

"Playstation S Cable", Great...better than the ones that come with the PS1 because not only does it have the video connections..but also S video (if you have that feature on your tv).

"Amazing Graphics!!!!", Really impressive, and detailed graphics; even with mi PS1 and the Granturismo II game. All the backgrounds are viewable an detailed the cars looks so great and the color of the pictures it's so real. The same thing happens when I play FinalFantasy VIII, but if you include a Wega TV, the images era closely to the reality. Good investment, but not cheaper.

"superior quality", If you have an s video imput, you should get this cable. I have a 27 inch panasonic tv, which i bought for s video, and the diference was incredable. Don't buy the cheaper brands,(madcatz,interact,etc.)they void the ps2's warenty and may even damage it. It is a good cable for the price of 30 dollars, but if you get lucky you may find one at best buy, they had some opened ones for 15(i guess people bought them and relized they didn't have s-video capability). All in all it is a must have it you have s-video imputs.

"LISTEN! YOU *MUST* USE AN S-VIDEO CABLE!!", I can't really speak for the sony brand cable, as I purchased the interact pro series s-video cable. But what I can say is that with s-video input, the difference on most games is like day and night! Your PS2 is going to waste if you don't use at least s-video input. The difference is especially noticeable with in-game text, still images(such as the backgrounds in onimusha-wow!), and particle effects. Colour bleeding is practically eliminated.

Again, I tend to think the interact pro series are better quality than the ps2 cables (and cheaper, at least at electronics boutique) anything is better than the lame rca cables that sony gives you. This really is a must-buy, you CANNOT do without it!

"Get Component cable if you can", I've been using the S-Video cable for my PS1 AND DC for years, however, not with the new PS2 system. If you can find one, and your TV is set up for it, get the "Component cable". Price difference is minimal ($10 +/-).

Here's the key, DVD format for recording and decoding to and from the disc, set by the powers that be, is Component video. It actualy sepeates the color fields, and they are processed seperately. Whereas S-Vid just seperates color and light values (in lay-mans term nutshell). Component gives MUCH higher resolution.

Only problem is most TV's w/ Component inputs are projection, and well, just read your instructions, and they usually say video games on projection TVs are a no-no...(BURN IN). The choice, if you have one, is yours, but I know where my money goes from here on in.
