"Great Game!"
I you like hunting games, you'll love this. The only thing i don't like is that it's confusing. When you look in the options thing, the way to control the game's controls is confusing. But after a while, it should be ok for you.

"Hunting dinos is pretty fun!"
If you don't mind JP violence like raptor eating you alive, you won't mind carnivores. Good graphics, good Sound affects, and lots of fun. I think however it is to hard to shoot the dinosaurs, because the either see, smell, hear,or eat you first even with the special como stuff you can get at the beginig.
Get it if you like to hunt dinos.

"Great"
a lot of fun! still is and have had it for awhile. cool graphics

"Best Extinct Animal Hunting Game Ever"
This game is the bomb. it has good graphics, extremely realistic terrain. It is a wonderful game if you get bored with the normal hunting games. No blood in the game, but it isn't needed to keep you at the edge of your seat when hunting the big meat-eaters.

"Dino Hunting"
If you like hunting you`ll love this. Thare`s 6-7 islands to hunt on and 7-8 dinos to hunt.

"A Real Prehistoric Adventure!", Despite my high ratings for the game, Carnivores, I would like to say what I think would have made the game more fun. For one thing, the carnivores of the game: Allosaurus, Velociraptor, and Tyrannosaurus Rex, only attack you, the hunter. What they should do, along with attacking you, is attack and kill other dinosaur species in the game. Many a time did the idea of shooting one of the non-huntable dinosaurs come to mind, so that I could lure one of the carnivores to my location. Another thing I was hoping for, was interaction between the species, but to no avail. The game is still fun, and I give it *****.

"Carnivores- original dino game", Despite being a bit on the simple side compared to some other hunting games, Carnivores is a pure original and still goes as an unmatched classic.
The storyline to Carnivores is not exactly pure genius, but what's the point in making up a complicated plot and then not using it in the game? Apparently, starship FMM UV-32 landed on planet full of dangerous dinosaurs, and the crew realised that they could profit by allowing experienced hunters access to the big game of prehistory. Fair enough.
Now. The game itself. Well, if you're not one for dinosaurs clawing at your throat or bad weapon sound effects, then give this one a miss. But even so, I think many buyers will be surprised by this game's addictiveness and basically fun. It's great to try running away from an angry T-rx, even when you know you're not gonna escape it. And it's even good to get a little frustrated after missing a rare dinosaur, it's just the essence of the game.
The gameplay is okay. The menu has four options: 'hunt,' 'options,' 'credits' and of course 'quit.' Oh yes, and there's the trophy room, where you can browse your kills by going right up to their stuffed forms. Quite rewarding, actually. In carnivores, there ae no set missions- you can hunt what you want where you want; there's no specific limit of kills in a single hunt. I suppose you do have to earn points to hunt bigger, more dangerous dinosaurs, weapons, and locales. These come under three categories: novice, advanced, and expert.
The dinosaurs are all right, and look great when you first see them. But as you study them more, you may begin to realise some major flaws, such as the fact that you can see right into the mouth of the stegosarus when facing it head-on. But they're not bad. Not bad at all. And they all move smoothly and realistically, except possibly the stegosaurus, which waddles along like a constipated pig when it trys to flee. And the sounds aren't all convincing. You'll laugh when hearing the Triceratops 'call,' and the T-rex footsteps sound a bit too metallic. But there's nothing genuinely wrong with them and I reckon they pass.
The weapons are terrible! Okay, maybe that was a bit harsh, but seriously, there's only three of them, and I dont like any of them. The shotgun doesn't reload, the crossbow is unrealistic, and the sniper rifle sounds like someone rubbing bits of sandpaper together. Awful.
I love the locations, however. There's only five of them, but they are all completely different. The woods of Turan Choks is a brilliant beginners map, but possibly the best is the final map, the Great Lake. I also love the way they've created an atmosphere in each different area. The Jungls of Gravitsappa are buzzing with activity and hve a somewhat jolly feel, but the Pyramids of Shmu Hadron are quiet, and sort of tense. It's very enjoyable in each one, generally.
So, what do I rate Carnivores in general? Well, to be honest, I've given it a five. This clever game incorporates good hunting enjoyment, prehistoric creatures, and massive maps to generally bring home one terrific game- er, apart from the weapons aspect.

"The Hunter Hunted", This is a great game.I have had all 4 of the carnivores games but they do not work.So I will tell all I know about carnivores one and two and how to stay alive.
Ofcoarse you know that you pick a dino to hunt but remember you do nt have unlimited money. You can not get what ever you want and go hunting.
Here are some dinos that take time to learn to kill. One is the raptors.they almost always know where you are.And the T Rex will run toward you when you fire a weapon.Others include the spinasourous, trisaratops, and other predators.
Heres how to stay alive.First remember to be sneaky don't just run up to them.Get the right kind of weapon for different dinos. One more thing save ammo don't waste it.
Thats all you need to know so get the game instale it on your pc.Did I menntion the games work on xp computer now play try to survive!

"Kinda disappoinitng, but has some good qualities.", This game is average. It is all about being a dinosaur hunter and trying to get dangerous dinosaurs for trophies. Despite hating real life hunters and being a nature lover, I still must say, since the weapons and dinos were cool and it was all fake, this game did have a couple of pluses. It is all right, and if you can't find anything to do whatsoever, it's probably worth a shot playing this. However, it gets three stars only because there are just a few too many bad spots for it to be in my top games. I don't have it anymore, and do not plan to buy it again, but at least it was okay while it lasted.

"Suprisingly good budget shooter", I've only bought two budget games (those cheesy ones that sell for less then twenty dollars) in my life. One was a mind-numbingly awful shark hunter game, and the other was Carnivores. To my suprise (Which is still intact today), Carnivores is a suprisingly good budget shooter, well worth its bargin bin price.

Carnivores takes place in the far future, where you are the newest client of a dino-hunting corporation that's set up on a planet in space. Yes, the story is non-existant, but at least they tried to give a solid reason why you're hunting dinosaurs with a shotgun.

For your dino hunting adventures, you get to hunt with three weapons. A shotgun thats powerful (but very noisy), a silent crossbow that features a complex aiming system, and the powerful but limited sniper rifle. Although you only get three weapons, thats more then enough for plenty of dinosaur hunting action. One feature I really liked is that you can choose to hunt with sedative rounds (tranquilizers), which puts your prey to sleep instead of killing it, thus earning you more points.

The dinosaurs you hunt are varied, each offering a uniuqe challenge. The Parasarlophosis for example, is harmless, but has an excellent sense of hearing and can detect you from a mile away, making it almost impossible to find one. The Triceratops is peaceful, but if you disturb it (or shoot it) from close range, its going to come after you and stomp you to death. And of course, the meat eating dinosaurs want to eat you, and all of them have excellent senses of smell, so be carefull!

To make your hunt easier, you can equip items and equipment such as camoflage, scent reducing chemicals, and a very handy radar. Bear in mind though, that using the equipment will lower your score (you get points by killing or sedating your target dinosaurs).

The world of Carnivores is quite amazing to walk through. Although the graphics are average at best, each world feels alive and vibrant. Lush tropical forests, desolate deserts, jungles, beaches, ancient temples, and even a pyramid or two are some of the places you'll encounter on your journey. Other dinosaurs such as Galamimuses walk around, looking for food and running from you when you fire or get too close. The audio portion of the game is excelent. Birds and insects squack and screetch in jungles, desolate and lonely wind blows across the deserts. A lake splashes under a late afternoon sky. A T-rex roars in the distance. All of it adds up to a rich and imersive atmosphere.

Suprisingly, Carnivores is a scary game. Unlike games where you hunt Bambi or turkeys, the dinosaurs in the game fight back! If a meat eater sees you, it will stop at nothing (literaly) to get to you. If you're hunting a stegosaur, theres a good chance you might run across a velociraptor (who will immediatly come after you). There were several moments during my playtime where I lunged out of the chair in fright! Such as the time I had an Allosaur lined up in my crosshairs, and I was suddenly ambushed and killed by a velociraptor from behind. Staying on your toes and remaining alert will save your life many times. And when you first hunt the T-rex? Be prepared to be scared out of your wits. The first time I sounded the T-rex roar, I jumped out of my seat! (When you hear a T-rex roar, RUN! Not that it will do you any good).

Other little touches add nice depth. If you want to leave a hunt, you have to go through a brief waiting period ("Preparing for evacuation"), meaning that if you're being chased by a hungry dinosaur, you cant just leave the game instantly. You can change the amount of dinosaurs in a hunting area to suit your tastes (fancy hunting three T-rex's at once?). There's even a feature where you can view your trophies in a hunting room.

I do have a few complaints with the game though. Hunting the meat eaters (the velociraptor and Allosaurus) is more difficult then it should be, due to the fast walking speed of the creatures. They walk very fast, making it extremly difficult to line up a head shot (which you need to kill them), meaning that you'll die many times due to one missed shot. This may be realistic, but it does get annoying. There could also be some dino vs dino struggles that could take place. Its a bit strange to see a Stegosaurus calmly eating some grass while a gigantic T-rex thunders right past it (ignoring the stegosaurus as well). My other complaint is once you unlock all the weapons, stages, and dinosaurs, you really dont have anything else to do except just keep playing over and over again, meaning that the game can get repettitive.

But in the end, Carnivores is a suprisingly good budget game that I dont hesitate to recommend. If you find it for under ten dollars, I'd get it. Its a great bargin.

"More, more, more!", Easily the best of all the PC hunting games that have been released since the smash-hit DEER HUNTER, CARNIVORES is top notch, even for a "value title." Excellent, 3D-accelerated graphics combine with atmospheric stereo sound to create a taut and suspenseful first-person hunting experience. The animal AI is sophisticated enough to give even the most jaded PC hunter a jump or two (or more) and, overall, gameplay is better here than in similar games at twice the price.

If there are any flaws, they have to do with the game's depth. A small selection of firearms and equipment, combined with the game's focus solely on the "stalk and kill" variety of scenarios, guarantees CARNIVORES' shine will dim quickly, which is unfortunate, as multiplayer or "capture the flag" modes would have added months to the game's lifespan.

Still, there's no better value for the price. Dinosaurs, high-powered weapons and the chance of being a T-Rex snack makes for big fun, whether the hunting game genre is your thing, or not.

"THE HUNTING GAME WHERE YOU ARE THE PREY", Dont get me wrong i like a lot of hunting games but this 1 captures it in a ceratin way. Now u the hunter must watch ur back. Stalk and be stalked through dense fogs and mountains terain in search for the dinasour of a life time or the jaws of a T-REX. this game has awsome 3D ENVIRONMENTS. great sound and the animal AI is pretty good. I'd recomend this to anyone. But id wait for Carnivores 2. it should have all this game has and more.

"Dropped on Jurasic Park......... Cool.", I got this game, because I was over my Mom's house for the holidays. I figured there was going to be some down-time, and she had a PC with NO games. This was great for going in and taking down some small Dinosaurs for a quick fix. Then (after getting my Stepdad, and brother hooked), we would go on a much more aggressive hunt, like after Raptors. Watch the wind. Other animals are on the island, and not all of them are plant eaters. Everything moved smooth, and you can choose how dense you want the foliage, and how sensitive you want the animals to sight, sound, and smell. I wish the directions were more then just a few pages, though. I never got to the BIG carnivores, but it seemed that there should be more interaction with the dinosaurs amongst themselves. (i.e.. getting eaten and all that). All and all a very fun game.

"Very fun! A great idea neatly done...great value.", Carnivores is a really fun game to play. The interface is quite simple, just like a first person shooter, but the object is to hunt dinosaurs. You choose a weapon (limited to X-bow, shotgun, or rifle), a hunting terrain, and a dinosaur species to hunt. You have options like tranquilizers (for you PETA folks), radar, scent mask, and camouflage, but these lower your score. As you progress in skill, you get to hunt more ferrocious beasts, until as an expert you can hunt T-Rex. The first time I used my game call on the Tyranosaurus, I about fell out of my chair! The game can be set at varying degrees of difficulty. If you set the choice to AGGRESSIVE DINOSAURS and HIGH SENSITIVTY, you are just begging to wind up in T-Rex's jaws. Also, while you are hunting stegosaurus, it is not uncommon for an Alosaurus to stalk you. The sounds are well done and set an eerie, lonely atmosphere. The graphics are good, so you can run it on a low-end Pentium. Don't expect Quake 2 or the like....this is a simple game with basic graphics, but is one heck of a lot of fun. There is no gore here, the violence is not graphic.
