Others say..."AWSOMe"I didn't buy the game but one of my brothers friends had the mellinum edition and gave it to me and i enjoyed the game because it was easy and yet challenging at the same time but it was still fun and was creative. "great game but not supported by XP"I played this game on windows 98, and (as the other reviewers said) it was a wonderful game. Unfortunately, the following is very important: IT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY WINDOWS XP. Some have had succcess getting it to work many cannot. Including myself (sadly). Other then that, i highly reccomend this game.
"My version of the game of the year" This is the best game I have ever played. Right when I played the game it became my new favorite. In story line I give it a 5 out of 5. You start out on an island for a contest that Lord Markham has put together. Graphics gets a 4.5 out of 5. The graphics are more like being into a live picture. The only thing I don't like about the graphics is you can't see your characters. Overall this game is worth your precious time. BUY IT!!!!
"Good game, but nothing new" The best feature of this game, I agree with most, was the Arcomage mini-game. If they haven't already, 3Do should turn this into an actuall game. The option to choose between the light and dark path was nice, but the overall game was too much like MM6, without enough new features. The use of the invisibility spell makes it too easy, though, and I found myself almost done at level 20.
"Might and Magic VII: The Best Game Ever" Very enhanced graphics with great deatail. Lots of variety of characters and monsters. Great for beginers and easy to master. Interesting waepons and other items.Easy to use maps/icons and character movements.

What our customer's say!"Another Great One", I've always loved the Might & Magic series and this one is no exception. I love first person, turn-based-party games. I have been dumb enough to periodically waste money on some of the various third person games out there like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, but I hate third person and cannot get into it at all. Might & Magic does not have that problem. This game, along with MM-6 and MM-8 are pretty much in the same format with a few tweaks. That is fine with me. I have become so engrossed it them that I have played all three of them at least three times each. There is no other game that even comes close. Despite the crudeness factor, I love the graphics. The spell system is just right, and I don't mind all the monster bashing. The story kept me engaged each time I played, even knowing the outcome the second and third time around. I just wish someone would continue the series in the same format with maybe 3-D graphics but the same game play and all the rest. I give a hats off to the Might & Magic Tribute people who are doing it on their own, since no company seems interested in doing it. Highly recommended. "Overall a great game", M&M7 was one of the first RPG games I really got into. I tried Baldur's Gate and some others but didn't like them very much. This one was relatively easy to learn and fun to play. After playing some of the others in this series, this is my favorite. One advantage of 7 over 6 (which is my second fav) is the fact the you can keep better track of where teachers are located by scrolling over the map. I resorted to printing out lists of where everyone was in 6. The game is a bit long, but I like the way you have to chose between good and evil. Overall I think it is a great game! "4 Stars and I'm just out of the starting gate...............", I'm giving this game 4 Stars out of the "gate" because it's pretty much just like "M&M 6" and that's definitely a good thing. M&M 6 in my opinion is one the the best in the series and so far 7 has got me wanting to continue more of the late night session i spent with it's predicessor. Oh, and by the way, if you are having trouble getting this game to run, read on a few reviews down,( if you are reading the reviews in order of the 'date reviewed') you'll see a very simple solution shared by one of the reviewer's that works. Fret not,the game does run on XP,you'll just have to have a little 'Know How' and a little patience.-----Darvius7 "Review and XP help", I've always enjoyed the M&M games, beginning to end. Yes, the graphics are outdated, but I place gameplay far above aesthetics. Consider this: I just completed Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, which has GORGEOUS graphics. The same day I finished Morrowind, I installed M&M7 and have been playing it non-stop over the last week, and I am now 3 quests short of completing every neutral/light quest in the entire game. I love it, and next I'm installing the next game in the series and doing the same thing. On the subject of it working in XP, ignore the warnings of DirectX, and switch the graphic rendering from hardware to software when you first try to load the game. (If you already tried to load the game and picked hardware, run the configuration executable from the M&M7 folder (use 'My Computer'), which should be in C drive, 'Program Files' folder, then the '3D0' folder, and choose software rendering. Next create a new shortcut on your desktop by right clicking on desktop, highlighting the 'new' sub-menu, then choosing 'create new shortcut' and point the shortcut at the MM7 executable in the MM7 folder. Worked for XP Professional, should work for you. "Shadow of a great past", It's sad. I always liked the Might and Magic (MM) series. It was fairly simple but the built-in journaling and mapping tools made it less of a pain than other RPGs. Unfortunately MM seems to be frozen in time and this version doesn't appear to have any changes from previous one. There is a new storyline, or more precisely, a new variation of a Might and Magic storyline but graphics, sound, monsters, spells, skills and interface at all the same. I couldn't get the game run with DirectX under Windows 2000, software mode only, although the game is listed as NT-compatible. Keyboard shortcuts would stop working and occasional clipping problems got me stuck and forced a reload to get out. The sound is what really drove me crazy. The character voices can be cut off but not the NPCs. I'll have 'Have a pleasant evening!" ringing in my head for years. For die-hard Might and Magic fanboys only.

Read this reviews before You buy..."Good, but...", I enjoyed playing Might and Magic VII. The storyline kept you moving along, and the interactions with the different geographic areas made most of the questing fun and worthwhile. The game is heavy on killing and light on puzzles, I suppose I'd like a little more balance there. However, I'd like to commend the creators on one thing above all else, ARCOMAGE. A game within the game, played in the inns throughout the land, was really fun. I love the fact that there are two different paths to take (good/light vs. evil/dark). That makes the game replayable at least twice. Playing around with the character classes is good for another game or two as well. My only strong criticism is that the dark side quests were buggy, and I had to download the patch and restart my dark side game to get my final warlock and lich promotions. "Here we go again...", Sure, there were numerous worlds to walk through, graphics were moderately interesting, and practicing alchemy was fun. But when I had reached level 30 and I was still running into those 4th level monsters over and over..not to mention the all-too-predictable scifi routine toward the end of the game, I grew increasingly bored. What really irritated me were the bugs I found playing the dark side and the outrageously leathal guys at the very end. You have to engage in a little politics in the middle of the game, but I wish there was more to it (e.g. sending letters/spies/tributes to various leaders). I feel Might and Magic missed a great potential for a very interesting plot. It was fun while it lasted, but I didn't bother finishing the game. "Good storyline, Too many monsters. 3.5 stars indeed", I am a long-time M&M devotee. I played every game of this gorgeous series. On the last M&M 6, it is put on a new high level. But in this sequel, it seems to do the same thing without new surprise. To be fair, this game is still lots of fun. I like the storyline very much--- in the game, whevever you are so careful, you MUST choose your route between good or evil, and then become the foe and the killer of the other side. This is life. And numerous quests make you always has something to do. The most disadvantage of this game is the unnecessary lots of monsters. I hate myself doing the same thing again and again, accept a guest, kill the monsters, get the item. (In fact I am not killing the monster, I'm killing my time....) If 3DO company know this, this game and the following sequels(M&M 8,9,10,...) would be far more better. (But alas, I just purchased a copy of M&M 8, and the monsters seem to be even far more.) "Another Example of sitting on your laurels", Here is a game that, rather than doing anything new after the success of its predacessor, chose to simply reuse an outdated graphics engine and make the gameplay insanely repetative. Not to say that it doesnt have any of the things that made Might and Magic 6 good in it but with games like baldur's gate and Planescape: Torment out there are much much better ways to spend your gaming dollar. "Lose Something, Gain Something", In what seems to be a swap, MM 7 lacks the variety of MM 6, but it follows through with the story and your own choices much farther. After defeating the Devils on Engoth, you must travel through Erathia, cleansing the land and ridding the now fallen Temple of Baa. Along the way you will have to choose sides to fight on, make allies, pick a Judge, and decide whether your fate lies in the Dark Path or the Light Path. I missed some of the MM 6 elements that were not present in this game (the variety of armor/items/weapons) but I was pleased to see them tidy up the graphics and focus more on the story. A worthy follow up and a new direction for the series it seems.
