Others say..."WOW!! THIS GAME ROX!!!!"I bought it (when it first came out) for full price... and thought I might have wasted my money...let me tell ya...NO WAY..I didn't waste ONE penny...It's like racing indy cars but much faster, they turn easier and they fly...:)...There are 4 levels to this game. Level one has 7 races, all aare pretty easy. After you finish the level, you are given access to one level in level 4...each level is the same, but each getting harder...there are 4 races in level four, and let me tell ya...THEY ARE HARD!!!!!!! :)...!!! :)...(I still havn't completed races 3 and 4 in level 4!!!)... The Graphics are TOP NOTCH!! The compant, Lucasarts produces the best graphics in computer games. The game follows the story line of the movie well. Sure, the tracks are on differant planets than just Tatooine, but hey; It's fun! :) I love the game. And the characters from the movie, you can play all of them. The ONE thing that is not like the movie (BUT I'M GLAD IT IS ON THE GAME) is the "YOU GET A NEW PODRACER" feature when you crash...It's a life saver!!! ALL AROUND, I GIVE THIS GAME A 2, maybe 3, thumbs up. JASON ANDERSON
"the race" This game is pretty fun but I have beat'en it 12 times and I can beat it in 1 day. But the games graphics are a 9.7, but what I like about the game is that you don't just race on Tatooine but you get to race on Baroonda, Malastare, Oovo IV, Ando Prime etc. also you don't just have to be dumb ol' Anikin but you can be 21 other racers encluding my favorite Neva Kee and Mars Guo. the game is pretty good and I recomeend it to all you racing gamers. P.S.Press shift+4+F4 when on "Buy Parts" in tournement when buying a part you get an extra 1000 trugets every time you can only get up to 5000 extra trugets though, man!!
"Great Graphics and Gameplay" Star Wars RACER features excellent graphics. You get your choice of pods and their corresponding character. During the race, the graphics are very smooth and the controls are very easy to master. During the first few races, expect to break lap records in finish first. In the harder levels, expect nose-to-nose finishes. The only drawback is that the game is pretty much the same from start to finish. This is a must have and still today, it will show off your graphics card!
"Not A Racing Fan" I bought this game not knowing what to expect because I'm not really a racing fan. But after playing the game I enjoyed myself. this game is good to get even if your not a fan of racing games and just want to waste some time. But I recommend buying a controller for this game it's makes it allot better.
"Good til the end" The races were fun and the difficulty level increased at a good rate. Though getting first in all of the races, it became boring once they were all completed. The Winning Screen (on the pillars) was the same every time. Something different could have been done for more excitement. Now only multiplayer is exciting.

What our customer's say!"Holds up after all these years - even on XP", Several years after playing through to completion, I was disappointed to find that Racer on the CD was completely unplayable on XP. Seems the changes in DirectX support between the old version 6 and the new versions left Racer unsupported, with some calls to the audio and video systems crashing the system on newer computers. Thank heavens for the ability to search the web for answers. The LucasArts support page was unhelpful, but if you search around long enough, you will find a link to a hidden page at [...] on, of all places, Amazon's UK site. I think diehard players and people unwilling to bother the folks in the UK will appreciate a way to bring Racer back to life on XP computers. Anyway, with these two patch files, Racer becomes not only playable again, but brings a great racing game back into the fold. The graphics and audio hold up extremely well for a game that's nearly 7 years old. Even now, this blindingly good game gets your whip-snap reflexes back into shape, and leave other racing games in the dust. The clever upgrading ability and multiplayer support stand out today even more clearly for being well ahead of their time. "good game AND QUIT PICKING ON JAKE LLYOD", THIS GAME IS JUST AWSOME. AND GIVE JAKE A BREAK HE WAS A LITTLE KID AT THE TIME. LIKE TO SEE U GUYS DO A BETTER JOB "computer problems", This was a very interesting game, requiring a joystick. I wanted to play it, but it kept freezing up on my year 2000 PC with much more than the stated system requirements, video cards, etc. Lucas Arts said I should try downloading some video patches that do not exist anymore (remember, my computer is years(?) beyond this product), but they warned me the patches could crash my computer. Gee, thanks for wasting my money. "computer problems", This was a very interesting game, requiring a joystick. Gee, thanks for wasting my money. "One of the best racing games", Being both a Star Wars and racing game fan, I was hoping for something special. I wasn't disappointed. "Star Wars Episode 1: Racer" is one of the fastest and most exciting games available. The music and sound effects are amazing and the graphics are excellent. There is a wide range of playable characters and pods available, and the choice of upgrading or buying parts for your vehicle. The speed of the racing is incredible; it's a white-knuckle ride across ice and desert and through caves and tunnels. None of the pods come equipped with weapons, but to be honest you just don't need them: the game in no way suffers from the lack of them and the racing is excellent by itself. There are eight racing worlds and over twenty levels, each at different stages of difficulty. Each is beautifully designed and exciting to play, although later on in the game the tracks set in the same worlds may seem a little similar. The map of each track that appears at the top right of each screen can sometimes be hard to read as not enough of each track is shown and making out competing pods is difficult. One great thing about the game is that it has great replay value. Even though it's pretty easy to beat, I've played it through several times now and still haven't got bored of it. Overall, four and a half stars. The graphics are excellent but the tracks can get a little repetitive. You don't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy this game.

Read this reviews before You buy..."Fast", Very fast, the game is challenging to start off with, as the pod goes very fast. However the starting tracks lead you gradually into tougher and tougher scenarios. Awesome graphics, great sound and Star Wars based, what more can I say? "Bad Controling", I played this game a couple times and I think it's not worthbuying for [the price]! The controling is horrible! Although the graphics are great, I think LucasArts could have worked harder on this game! "I love this game!", One of the best Star Wars games around, Episode I Racer can appeal to everone. You race your podracers on several diffent traks on several different planets. As you win, you get new pods and the next race is more chalanging. It is good for all ages because there is hardly any voilence in it. The only violent thig is you crashing. You also get to upgrade your pod, inspect it, buy droids, and visit Watto's Junkyard - all of these are clever additions to the racing game. I do admit that it gets boring if you plan on just playing the game every minute you can. This game was ment to be won gradually. I have done that and saven alot of frusturation and LOSING! This is agreat game to own. "The Best Racer Game to hit the Market!", This is probably one of the most exciting and intense racing games I have ever played. Set in the Star Wars universe, this is definitely one that's sure to last a long, long time. It's a surprisingly long game, although it didn't take too long to beat. It also has great replay value, and I enjoy it now just as much as I did when I first purchased it. Throughout the game, and as you advance through the various courses, you will be able to implement the money you earn to purchase better parts for your particular pod racer. As you advance, you'll also be able to select more powerful (and occasionally weaker) pods to test out. Run through each of them, and see which fits you best. It might be the difference between coming out on top, or being involved in the biggest explosion since the Death Star! There's also an amazing score of wonderful John Williams music from Episode I. There are various tracks for each course, and they add an even better thrill to the game. The graphics are also very good, much better than on the N64. If you have a good computer, and a decent 3D card, you should have no problems. I have a 300Mhz system with a Voodoo2, and it rocked! All in all, LucasArts has done it again! May the force be with you! (Believe me, you'll need it!)
"One Top Racing Game...", The moment I popped this game into my computer, was the beginning of many unless nights of no sleep. Not only did I find myself hooked to the game, my room mate and friends come around to play this fantastic racing game on my computer. Pod racers come and go as we play the game further and find some unique pod racer to our liking, each one handles differently and has it's advantages and disadvanatages. The only two problems I found with this game is that it's highly boring to play without a cool joystick, and that it's incredibly difficult to win races after this certain point. It turns from moderately hard to impossible to beat. The hardest thing to do. however, was kicking my room mate off the game and off my computer.
