"GREAT"
This is a great game. The new box is nice because it's smaller, so it takes up less space. There's a nice money-holder, and little places for pieces and hotels, and even enough room for all of your old pieces and hotels (2 other boards worth). Places to store property cards and everything. The comm. chest kind of cards are a little flimsier, but that's why you use the old ones you have until they wear out. Games aren't supposed to last forever. If you want something that will, don't expect to pay 18 bucks. A haircut costs more than that, and it only lasts a week. Enjoy what it is.

"M. Deluxe"
Monopoly Deluxe is the best because it is the perfect board game! The box and the 2 blue cases inside are perfect because they don't tear easily. What about the things in the cases? Well, there are a lot of money in one of them, the chance and the (I forgot what those other small cards were called)are with the money and so are the cards for the places. The other case is for when you start playing, it's the bank. You will put the money in that and there are playing tokens, houses and hotels, and a special place where the dice goes. It is the best! Everything about it is perfect if you want to play during your family game nights! If you do buy it, I'm sure you won't regret it!

"COOL"
I got this for Christmas, and it is FUN, the new property caresal is soo cool! I absolutly loved how the new chance cards are redone. An excellent buy!

"Best game ever"
Dear readers,
I've played all kinds of monopoly and this one I've played is the best yet! This toy is good for subtraction and addition problems and how to handle money to not get bankruped.I recramend this toy for your friends and family! You can even add your money up and reduce it in less bills!I've liked it and you should to!Get this toy TODAY!

"Cool Game! Could use a little work though....."
Monopoly has always fascinated me, and this definatley takes the game to another level. Deed dealin is about ten times easier now with the deed carousel, and there's twice as much money in the bank! But there are still cons as well as pros....

NEW FEATURES PROS:
1.Back to wooden houses (can't get broken)
2.New bank with enough slots for actually ALL the money!)
3.The deed carousel makes the game easier
4.All of the chance and Comunity Chest cards have been redone, giving them a nice look
5. Box is nice and FLASHY

NEW FEATURES CONS:
1. Gold peices are probably spraypainted. They may look nice when you first get the game, but just wait a month or two.
2. Bank looks to be made out of cheap, flimsy plastic
3. Deeds are really light feeling (not as origanal)
4. The stupid game board won't lie flat!
5. Houses (although wooden) arn't as detailed as I like them

OLD FEATURES PROS:
Everything!

OLD FEATURES CONS:
Nothing!

Overall, I'd say that Monopoly is a great game, and that I really like the deluxe edition. It's educational, and fun. What more could a parent ask for? (I dont have an Amazon acount, so i'm using the children's entry form. Do you think a 4 year old would really write something this deep and destailed?) Definateley a good spend of my money

What our customer's say!

"I've always love Monopoly", This edition of Monopoly is awesome. I really like the property holder, it really helps keep things organized. I played the Here and Now version recently and hated it. The money is just so confusing. I think the smallest bill was like $10000. The colors were similar and just playing it made me miss the original version. This deluxe version also has wooden houses & hotels which keep them from bouncing around when players aggressively roll the die.

"A Timeless, Educational Alternative to TV and Video Games ", Also does wonders in quieting down a house full of kids, and may even teach positive money habits!

"Monopoly Deluxe Edition", The Deluxe Edition is quite nice in that it has holders for the different cards and money.

"The deluxe version has just about everyting you need!", This deluxe version of monopoly is in-cre-di-ble. Sometimes we play it so much that we stop and don't play it for ages, but after a few months we play it and this deluxe version has made playing it so much easier.

First, the wooden Houses and Hotels. They are a lot more fun to use and much easier to handle. They're not hollow and look real nice, even if they're not so detailed as the plastic ones.

Second, the Gold pieces. The pieces are absolutely elegant with their simple designs and their beautiful shiny gold. Not real gold, but it makes them all look incredible! Plus, their's an extra token. It's a train token, and I find it one of my favorite tokens now. (The money bag is also included)

Third, the banker's tray. Some people may not like this if they are too used to taking money out of individual trays, but this keeps the money together much easier. Their is a slot where you insert the money like you would drop an envelope in a drawer, and you can take it out easily. Plus, it has three little compartments for the houses, hotels, and a small one for the tokens and dice. It really is wonderful.

Fourth, the Propert Carousel. If you ever got angry about keeping the properties in order, you don't need to anymore. It is a small turntable with slots for each property including railroads and utilities. You can spin it around whenever you're searching for a particular one. It is extremely handy, as you can spin it very easily and it never wears out. (If you take out all the properties and spin the turntable on a smooth surface, it will spin for ages :-) )

Fifth, the Community Chest and Chance cards are not paper. They're now plastic cards with coloring in their pictures. It looks real shiny and new, and they're much easier to shuffle and handle.
The board also has a large specially colored Rich Uncle Pennybags in the middle with DELUXE EDITION below him in gold letters. That really gives the whole thing a brand new work. (The money also has DELUXE EDITION on it, so you can tell it apart from the original).

Seven, the other tray for holding things. If you have ever gotten fed up with using rubber bands or plastic bags to hold your pieces and properties and cards, this will make your life ten times easier. It has a spot for holding everything together leaving no room for scattering unless you turned the box upside-down. It has a progressively larger compartement (from the bottom up) sunk into the tray, leaving spaces for the Community Chest and Chance cards first. Then the Title Deed cards, then the property carousel, and tow big slots beside that for the money. You can put it all away and take no more than five minutes in the next game to start.

Altogether, not only is this game an enormous improvement to the original (the original was good too :-) ) But it saves you hours of time just putting the game together or putting it away. I found monopoly much more enjoyable when I didn't need to take so much time to move things around or sort things out. If you love monopoly, then get this. You will really find the gameplay much more enjoyable with fancy pieces and easier sorted out areas for your house, hotels, money, ect. It may cost a lot, but it is worth ever penny. I think I can gaurantee you will not be disappointed.

"OVERPRICED, CHEAPLY MANUFACTURED AND DISAPPOINTING",
The only thing "Deluxe" about this addition is the glossy foil cover of the box, which is designed to make you think you are getting something special by paying more money.

Nothing could be further from the truth. This edition screams "CHEAP" from the second the lid comes off.

Let's go thru the hype above and set the record straight on all the "Deluxe" features:

The board is a quad-fold affair, redesigned presumably to allow a smaller, less expensive box. It has much less rigidity than the single-fold board of the "classic" version. When it is left out for an extended period of time, especially overnite, the ends of the board curl up and refuses to lay flat.

The houses and hotels are completely featureless, just small blocks of wood. They looked to be dipped in some type of vegetable dye rather than painted. This is probably an attempt to eek out a few extra cents of corporate profit.

The "bankers tray" and "property wheel" are flimsy plastic jokes. Neither would last under play by children much more than a few games.

This edition is a sad legacy to a great game, and the cheapness of the set detracts from the joy of play. For the additional cost, all you are really getting is the fancy foil cover and one extra play token, plus a board that curls up at the edges: Whoopee!

My advice: Save the extra money and buy the "classic" version.

"Twice as Nice", This version of Monopoly is awsome!! It even has pieces I've never seen before. I love the deed holder, too!

"Still a great game...", Monopoly is often overlooked as a gamenight option these days, many people considering it outdated. But it's a classic for a reason, combining lucky rolls and strategy in a very unique way.

The fact is that most people don't play Monopoly by the correct rules, and that makes all the difference. The key to enjoying the game is the inter-player deals and politics. That's where all the fun lies, and much of the strategy. Any player can strike any kind of a deal with another player - want to trade all the purples and light blues for Boardwalk? No problem. Want to trick someone into trading a property you need for all your railroads? This is where the real enjoyment comes from. I encourage you not only to get the game and play it, but to read the rules and "get into" the game.

There are also some fun alternate rules you can use, such as collecting $400 (instead of $200) when you *land* directly on "go", or putting fine money (from chance cards, utility expenses, get out of jail money, etc.) in the center of the board and collecting it when you land on "free parking".

Don't overlook Monopoly as an outdated option. It's still one of the best games out there.

"Disappointed with the board, cards, and plastic accessories", My brother and I used to play Monopoly games that sometimes lasted for days. This was in the sixties and seventies. I bought this particular edition hoping that it would be of quality. The game board has a slit that feels like it could easily tear and it will not lay flat. The carousel and bankers tray are made of flimsy, cheap plastic. The property cards look puny. They used to have a weighty feel. In short, this "deluxe edition" looks and feels cheap. It did not satisfy my craving for the game of my youth.

"I won 2nd prize in a beauty pageant, Freud would've loved it", Yes, I love this game. Monopoly will never go out of style. I have played some of the novelty versions, but the orginal is still the best. It seems strange that in Peanuts Monoply, Spiderman Monoploy, Lord of the Rings Monopoly that you can for example "rent" Snoopy for $50.00 (I'm afraid to ask "what it is" he rents) and you can "build" houses and hotels on the Green Goblin and other villians and use paper money as currency in an age of silver, bronze, and gold coins!!! ???? I think I will stick with the orginal and less abstract Monoploly game of REAL-estate, please!

Monoploly is a great game beacuse besides being addictive and fun it gives great insight into family and friends' inner psycology. I'm sure Freud would have loved this game (Hey, Parker Brothers there's another Monoply game you could make, hehe). I have played against people with more eduaction than me such as people who have law degrees, MDs, and PhDs and many times those people are the biggest babies and sorest losers when they are losing a game of Monopoly. The game is part luck and part strategy, but I have noticed that this game oftentimes brings to the surface peoples' true inner dispostions and insecurities. It's down right funny to see such highly "educated" people act like grumpy children. True, I just made a generalizations in the last couple sentences above, but from my experience you can learn alot of stuff about people when you play a game of Monopoly. You get to see the effect money and prestige has on your friends and family.

The only real flaw I can see with the game design of Monoply is that the Community Chest and Chance cards are the exact same. I wish each deck had its own unique cards.

P.S. The game is funnest and most challenging if you don't get any money for landing on Free Parking. So scrap the house rules people! I also think a 3 player game is the best.

"EXCITING AND FUN GAME!!!", Monopoly has been a traditional family-favorite for centuries now. When I was around 7, I remember playing with the original $10.99 one. Now that game is lost and broken, so I wanted to get a replacement. I was originally going to buy the 2000 millenium edition but there were sooo many bad reviews. When I read the reviews for this game, every one was good. AND IT IS A GREAT GAME! Its durable, definitely educational, and fun! It is very attractive with the gold pieces and it comes with a plastic stand for the cards, of which is ingenious! I love everything about this game. No problem storing all of the game pieces and the game doesn't get damaged in its box either. BUY IT TODAY!!
