"Great for your 6-7 year old, and UP!", Set is about pattern-making, but the patterns touch 4 different categories: shape, color, number and shade. My 7 year-old learned the rules in a few minutes, and we were quickly playing. It's an enjoyable, addictive game, but also requiring concentration and focus to succeed. I highly recommend for the game-oriented family with kids 6+.

"The Perfect Game", This is really such an awesome game. It is great for teaching thinking "outside the box" and looking for patterns. Love it!

"Follow the rules or make up your own", Friends introduced us to this game several years ago and we've been hooked. Since then, we've had kids. Four things:

1. It is great as a competitive game with great suspense as everyone stares intently at the cards laid out.

2. We've also played cooperatively and we don't keep score.

3. Our toddler makes up matches of two and tells us what he's matching i.e. shape, color, number etc.

4. It helps sharpen those categorization/matching brain cells. Each picture can be broken into four variables, i. the number of shapes ii. the shape itself, iii. the color of the shape iv. and the fill type. Each variable can be one of three variations i.e. three colors, three shapes etc. A set is made when each variable in a set of three cards is either all the same or all different.

We have bought this game for numerous friends and family. Makes a great small birthday gift, stocking stuffer, thank you gift etc.
We're also hooked on Quiddler - a kind of a cross between Scrabble and Rumy.

"Brilliant", A perfect game that is easy enough to play with your 10 year old but hard enough that he or she might beat you!

"Set Card Game", We first played this game with a group of seven, it took a few rounds to memorize all the rules, but we had a blast by the end. We also played with two people and it was also fun. You have to think and watch quickly!

"Great solitaire game for traveling", You do need a small flat space to play it, but it is a great way to pass the time.

"Get set for SET", I have played SET for several years. The game is fun to play with others, or as a solitaire game which adds to its value. I recently purchased this again as I had left my SET game with my daughter (who also had to replace it when she left it at her in-laws' home). I did get my children (married with children) addicted to it also. We did find that it is best when everyone is alert.

"Great mind game", This is an excellent thinking game. Finding patterns that are not obvious at first glance is great for encouraging problem solving skills. Besides being educational, this game is fun! I've been playing it since I was a kid and finally just bought my own set (no pun intended).

"Educational-not fun!!!!!", This "game" is truly only a deck of standard sized cards in a case. It was purchased by a very game playing family of four, and mom is the only one who somewhat likes it. It's not because it's too hard (once you get the hang of it), it's just not very entertaining. I've tried it with both kids and adults, and both groups would rather choose any other game in the house. We love most games and puzzles, and this one just didn't cut it. I'm really surprised with the number of positive reviews.

"Frustrating", This card game was given to my son when he was four years old. I tried to simplfy the instructions, and we were able to "play" a few games, but it was not very much fun. Now he is six, and we still don't enjoy this "game". Perhaps it takes a certain personality to actually have fun with SET. We have enjoyed games like Gobblet and Blokus much better.
