"Eye Candy", Just received this book (gift to self!) and can't put it down. Love the notion of scrapping moments not so much events. If you do not want to use a computer, probably not a good use of your time and money. If you love fonts, clean lines, eye-pleasing design and a focus on the moment - on the picture and story - this is for you. One complaint - wish the binding was spiral to lay flat. Also thought fantastic (and liberating) her message of scrapbooking only those photos that truly speak to you, and putting the rest in a photo album - now, that's a true time saver. More closely akin to works of art not page after page of stickers and die cuts and loads of pictures. My background - I've done 25+ albums and was a CM consultant, but have been out of the loop for almost 5 years - this book inspires me more than anything in the past.

"For the busy scrapbooker", I love being crafty, and I envy those that have the time to do fru-fru scrapbooks, but I am not one of those people. I struggled with my desire to scrapbook, but my inability to carve out time to do scrapbooks that were full of embellishments, ribbons, buttons, etc. This book really gave me a foundation to see that you can have wonderful scrapbooks that capture the cute and precious memories, without having to do all that extra stuff. A great find, and I recommend any of her books. I now have scrapbooks that I am proud of, that I didn't spend hours upon hours of my time on, and that I enjoyed making!

"a Must have for your scrapbooking library!", Absolutely love this book - it's my "go to" book anytime I need a little inspiration. Cathy Z.'s clean lines, strong detail and catchy titles drive home the important points of good page design. I've got both books and am hoping that she'll do yet another! I'm not kidding, this is a must have for your library - you won't be disappointed.

"AMAZING is right", The style of Cathy Zielske (and Simple Scrapbooks) is exactly what I had been looking for. I love the concept of simple pages with clean lines that highlight the photo and its story and not an overuse of embelishments that distract.

"Love this book!", This was the one book that hooked me into scrapbooking. If only I could afford the graphic and font programs that help design some of these pages! I let a friend borrow some books to learn about scrapbooking. She brought me back every book except this one and asked if she could read it again! I like simple and uncluttered....and if you do, you will love this book.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"More like Stark and Barren Scrapbooking", This book was a total disappointment. This author's idea of clean and simple is a bunch of black and white photos and computer generated text. So, only make albums in 8-1/2" x 11" because it will fit in your average ink jet printer (page 26). And make only black and white photos so you will not have to worry about clashing or coordinating your papers, text colors or embellishments with your photos.

Another annoying reflection in this book is that a large number of the photos are of the same faces over and over throughout the book. I felt like I was looking at the author's personal album, not an example of techniques. Obviously, this was not a collaborative effort using a variety of talent to appeal to the variety of scrapbookers out there. Therefore, this book is targeted only to the select few not a broad audience. I recommend you spend your money on a book that has something for more styles and tastes, rather than this narrowly focused book.

"The best Scrapbooking book ever!", If I could give this book more stars I would. I love this book. I have been wanting to scrapbook for awhile, but was not feeling very inspired by what I was seeing in the magazines and on the internet. Then I found this book, and something just clicked. I love how nice and neat all the finished pages look. I love how Cathy shows you that you can use all those gorgeous papers and embellishments that are available in the scrapbooking world, but that you don't have to "slap" them all together on a page. I also love how she has taught me how important journaling is. I mean that is the whole idea behind scrapbooking right? Remembering moments and events.
I just love this book. I bought the sequel and got a subscription to Simple Scrapbooks Magazine!!

"Clean and Simple - not just for scrapbooking", On first look, you may think the pages too simplistic to render a book--however, upon closer inspection, you will find the intrinsic lessons C. Zielske relays add up to a methodology that applies to living life on the whole. It's about streamlining your efforts, looking at things, pictures, family...your life in simple terms without the need to do everything, see everything, have everything right now. It's a great guide to remind you how simple anything you put your mind to can be. It shows you how to clean up your scrapbooking/ crafting/whatever so that your focus/the picture/your project is what shines.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK! You must get this and "The Sequel" to have in your library...to pick up when you are running in 8 million directions at once, so that you can relax, unwind and get creative! Her layouts are also great foundations for those who just cannot stay away from their embellishments (myself included on more than a few pages)!

"Simply Delighful", After years of feeling guilt-free about my lack of scrapbooks, my sister gave me two books. This book, filled with wonderful, DO-able ideas, showed me HOW to create, and the book "Scraps: Adventures in Scrapbooking" with its screwy hilarious scrapbookers, made me see WHY women scrapbook. The designs in this book are just wonderful and the photo ideas much appreciated.

"Essential!!!", This book is filled with wonderful and inspiring ideas. Absolutely beautiful! Just reading and viewing Cathy's scrapbook pages is a great treat. A must have for every scrapbooker. Confused by the price on Amazon though, I paid a lot less at meijer in their scrapbook department.
