"terrible book. Chinese calendar calculations wrong"
The chinese calendar calculations are false. The book lacks depth and has too many contradictions.

"Surprisingly unorganized and superficial."
This was my first book on the subject of Feng Shui, and if I hadn't been determined to understand this practice, I might have given up on researching further. The title "How to apply the Secrets..." is misleading. There is far more information necessary than what is offered in this book, before one can begin to arrange or re-arrange one's habitat. It would be more appropriately described as Basic Skills: Feng Shui - Level I.

"I made a lot of money from this book ..."
In the mid-ninties, just before the MASSIVE Feng-Shui explosion carried away the idealistic dreamers in America, I found this book...and practiced its art well. Maybe I was just another dreamer, perhaps I was searching for anything to give me an edge in my life. Regardless, the help in this book made my average little box like apartment into a super comfortable and eye pleasing retreat from the preasures of life.

In one of the corners of my house I placed a red lava lamp (red light) to enhance my money earning potential. I earned good money while it was on...one day the bulb burned out and I never replaced it. Soon, I had lost my job and the future of employment was extremely bleak. The day I replaced the bulb, I got a call out of the blue from an employer offering me a better job then previous with TWICE THE SALARY! Today I have that job and the red light glows strong. Who says this stuff does't work?

Atleast my place looks nice ...

"A Harmonious Life Awaits You...This Book Can Help Create It"
This book covers a variety of Feng Shui concepts, such as energy lines, symbolism, the eight-sided Pa Kua, yin and yang, the five elements (fire, water, wood, metal, and earth) and their properties, trigrams, and much more. This book does a great job in illustrating Feng Shui and your landscapes, home, and business. There are numerous colored pictures and diagrams, making comprehension of such a complex subject matter less difficult. With over 200 pages, there is a lot of reading material. Though it is well-written and easier to understand than other Feng Shui books I've read, if you are just starting out learning and discovering Feng Shui, you may find yourself overwhelmed at the material. The pictures, however, are excellent. If you are looking for a book with very good illustrations and pictures, then this would be a good book to purchase.

"A really comprehensible and interactive book."
I praise the setup and the contents of the Complete Illustrated Guide, written to cater for all levels and a convenient and easy to use guide to feng shui.

It is by far one of the first book on feng shui that I had received that creates a clear and visual interaction with the reader. A coherance in feng shui that has led me to understand and implement into design through an asian emphasis but also a western ideology.

To create and design an environment is not only a juxtaposition of calculations but that of an art, an aesthetic value that reflects the user.. Through visual descriptions, Lillian Too has allowed the reader a means to understand and implement feng shui into a home or environment and allowing one to visualize what this environment would be..

Truly a great reading experience and always used as a guide when integrating feng shui into design.. Thank you..

"Very poor written Feng Fui Book", I bought this book with intention of trying to reposition by house after moving to new house in Torrence, L.A. This book does not provide good tip and very confusing points that may not practical for me. A disappointed book.

"Superficial & Without Flow---", I have owned this book for a while and never could really get the jist of what where she was going with it. The most interesting parts of book are about the Bank Of China where they follow strong Feng Shui principles and how she became successful in positing her office. This is wonderful if you can move your doors to face your most auspicious positions and have
the clout to tell you CEO you would like to recontruct your office at his(her) expense. I have tried from other sources to position myself in the workspace and will say that my bosses thought I was insane. I think book is poorly written with too much useless information.

"good book to pick up and read", i keep this one by my bed and read it when i need some inspiration. it always gives me ideas and gets my creative juices going. a good addition to your fung shui library.

"Very Confusing", This book was very confusing. I have had to buy other books to understand the art of Feng Shui. Not interesting. I would not buy this book.

"One of the most comprehensive books on feng shui", Lillian Too's books are a joy to read, not only because they are well written, but because the feng shui in it really works. I am a feng shui consultant and practitioner and compared to many of the other authors and books on the market, Lillian Too is the real thing. If you read the Complete Idiot's Guide for example, what basis is there for assigning a Western astrological onthly sign to each animal year in the Chinese zodiac. Does that mean every person has two Earthly Branch signs and two western astrology signs? Lillian Too has a skill of making even the most seemingly complicated theories and formulas easy for her reader. I recommend her highly, not just for her feng shui books but all her books. SHe has changed my life and I will always admire her.

"an excellent Introduction to feng shui", I have just bought Lillian Too's Encyclopaedia and now realsie how skillful this remarkable woman has been in bringing feng shui to the west. this first international book of hers was an excellent introduction and now with the world fully conscious and aware of the merits of practicing feng shui she brings out her Encyclopaedia of feng shui to take the reader deeper into the practice. I have to say that all the tips I obtained from this Intro book really improved my life ...
