"A Quick Read...Immediate Results", Started up my first web based company and didn't have a clue. Got halfway through the book and was able to start implementing the techniques he teaches. "Tunning up your business model", Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords I found is an excellent tutorial on how to get your web site finely tuned. This book is one of the best tutorials on Google AsWords written by one of the best in the business. I would recommend it to all who want to get the most traffic at the lowest cost for their Web site.

"Adwords is the stock Market and Keywords are the companies", To me Adwords is just like a big stock market, but instead of Stocks you buy Keywords. Everything I knew about Marketing previous to getting involved in SEM, was based on last semester of school. I took a Marketing class as a requirement for my Business Minor andthought it was silly and not really applicable to the real world. After four years of building software in a software development group I have moved over to the dark side. Yes, instead of worrying about user experience, and how well the site is working I now worry about cramming advertising on web pages, so I needed some background on marketing again.

It can't be stated enough that Search Engine Marketing is not the same as Brand Advertising. This was the 2nd book I have read on the topic. The book will teach you Direct marketers set one goal from their ads: to compel a measurable response from their prospects. What better way to measure response than AdWords as it keeps track of everything expecially when tied to Google Analytics.

I loved the example they gave in chapter 13 about the Wright Brothers. It is often the sidebars that made this book interesting. This book was packed with information without reading like a textbook, so the little stories I could tolerate. However,I never did understand the "Uncle Claude Sez segments", I could have done without those. Also, like many others I never did find the $85 Google Success toolkit. Overall this helped me run my Adwords campaign better. Also Perry's website is great if you get a chance to check it out. The Split testing tool is fantastic.




"Readers Beware", When I first read this book, I was thrilled to apply what the book said. But only to find that I dump thousands of dollars to Google by having lots of clicks and no improvement on conversions. I use site-targeted which the book suggested, and I have lots of clicks but the signup for free users and the customers did not increase a bit at all. I really hope I have never seen this book at all. The book gives you a feel of thrill at the beginning, but somehow each time I review the book again my luck get worse. Other than the fact that I lost thousands of dollars, somehow my instinct tells me to stay away from this book. I suggest people read 'search marketing inc' to get a solid idea of search engine marketing concept first if you are still going to read this book.

I really enjoyed the book, but I thought this book was about affiliate programs and how to get your website going.

I'm not a manager/merchant. I have a blog i'm struggling with to sell other business stuff.
