"Good"
Very simple and easy to follow, packed with recipes, some a little repetative. But I do feel it was value for money..

"Not a book I'll be using frequently"
A lot of the recipes tend to include ingredients that are not readily available -- many cookbooks will suggest more common substitutes, but this one doesn't. Many recipes take far more time than I care to spend on preparation for everyday meals. I found only a handful of the recipes to be appealing.

Also, if you don't own (or care to own) a food processor, this book isn't for you -- nearly every recipe involves one in some way.

Finally, the way the book itself is laid out makes the recipes difficult to follow while cooking.


"Nice Cookbook"
Some of the recipes I probably won't use, but the recipes I do use are pretty tasty.

"Disappointed"
I was very disappointed in this cookbook. A lot of the recipes have hard to find ingredients as well as use a lot of ingredients that are not allowed in phase one of the GI diet. I have yet to cook anything out of the book!

"The Everything Glycemic Index Cookbook"
I was a little disappointed in this book. True, there are a few good recipes, but several of them required items not usually in one's pantry. I have only cooked one recipe.

"A great cookbook", If you have read at all about the glycemic index and find it interesting then this is the book for you. There is a recipe for everyone in this book, even some that will allow you to use real sugar and still be considered green/yellow light. I would recommend this book to anyone wishing to change their eating habits to a more healthy regimen.

"Recipes aren't LOW GI", As a person who has been on this diet for over a year with very successful results, after reading this book I was appaled that the author considers the recipes low GI. Most of the recipes are for regular food not LOW GI meals!!

"everything glymetic index", As a 70 year old I am having difficulty understanding diabetes, I found this book most interesting & very helpful sorting out my diet, having always eaten everything good & bad I now consult my book & find I'm eating things I'd never heard of! Good Value

"The Everything Glycemic Index Cookbook", All the recipies we have tried so far are great. We are using in in connection with weight watchers, losing weight and my husbands sugar level is staying stable.

"Nummy!", Easy recipes, easy to understand how it works with the Glycemic Index concept, and good for diabetics and hypoglycemia as well. Love the cottage cheese and tomato breakfast, as well as the Saturday Eggs, and Dieter's Delight (egg whites packed full of veg, and only 28 calories!). The Chicken Francoise with Fine Herbs was amazing, and far simpler than I thought.

Some recipes aren't so 'standard', but that's what adds to the appeal...tons of "normal", and plenty of "special recipes" to keep it fun and interesting. Majority of ingredients are found in my local grocery store, and the few left over are easily removed/replaceable, or found at an ethnic market, whole foods market, or butcher shop not far away.

Well written, maybe needs to be organized slightly differently, but I don't have any suggestions in that regard aside from taking it to the basic ideas of Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack, Dessert, Beverage, etc...rather than some of the odd (true, but odd for your standard Jane Doe) categories it currently shows (keep all the recipes...just put in more "typical" category headings to aid in knowing what is meant for what kind of meal, etc).

Read this reviews before You buy...

"So inadequate I sent it back - don't waste your money", I've been following Rick Gallop's fantastic books "The g.i. Diet" and "Living the g.i. Diet" and was looking for a good gi cookbook. I picked this one and, after a thorough review, was VERY disappointed - so much so that I returned it and I've never returned a book in my life. I recently received "The Low GI Diet Cookbook" by Brand-Miller, Foster-Powell and McMillan-Price and it is an outstanding high-quality book full of gorgeous photos and recipes that I'll be using everyday!!!! It covers everything you need to know about the diet and thensome. This is truly a 5* book. Also purchased "The Good Carb Cookbook" by Woodruff and it's nice; but not great. Printed on EXTREMELY cheap quality paper which had torn pages when received - pity more care wasn't taken in the production of this book. No photos at all.

"So many great recipes!", I was really reluctant to BUY a cookbook because I get most of my recipes for free online. I was glad I picked this one up though-- the variety is great, and there are TONS of things that even a super picky eater like me is excited to try out. The nutritional information included on each recipe is very handy, and they make it easy to find the GI rating (low, moderate, high) with a single glance.

"Wow! Are these recipes delicious!", I'm very impressed with this book. The recipes are all very simple to follow, and contain a reasonable amount of ingredients (no 20-ingredient, 5 hour preparation time dishes here!), all available at any grocery store, no specialty-markets required. Everything I've tested thus far has been really tasty - even my kids will eat it! I recommend this cookbook for anyone wanting to eat healthier, whether they are concerned about their glycemic index or not. It's just good food.

"GI ratings and more", A recipe book that lists not only the GI rating of each recipe but also the carbohydrate, protein and sodium content. Useful for diabetics.

"Life Changing", Easy recipes. I have lost 10 lbs. without excercising just by using mostly low glycemic recipes.
