"horrible", I bought this book for a class I was taking and it arrived in bad shape.First, it took forever to get to me and it arrived all beat up. The book had water damage. It looked like it was through a flood or something. This made me hesitant on whether to buy any used books again.

"Great for Beginners", I had to order this book for a college course even though I've been in this profession for about 9 years now. This book is organized by the applications that make up the Office suite. For each project, it walks you step-by-step through the entire process, which is very helpful for thise that have no clue how to navigate through the menus, shortcuts, or icons. It does a good job on breaking each of the concepts and capabilities of each application for a first-time learner. I think it's way too expensive though for the what it offers.

"Good Intro", As an introduction to Micosoft Office 2003, it is sufficient. You do learn a lot of beginner skills but like its predecessors, it isn't easy to find the concepts you've interested in learning. All the screen captures are appropriate and helpful and in full color. There is no CD-ROM but the practice files are downloadable from the companion website. Though you'll learn a lot, you'll outgrow the text eventually.
