"Not the "Holy Grail" of chord books", I have other chord books that explain chord theory and show you thousands of variations of chords. I bought this book based on the title which led me to believe that it focused on the most probable chords to be found in common songs as opposed to EVERY chord variation imaginable with no correlation to the likelihood of ever needing to use them. Also, the 5-star rating by the previous two reviewers persuaded me to plunk down my money.

It is now clear that the previous reviews were written by the publisher and the author and not by anyone who actually bought the book. This book is not significantly different and no more clear or focused than the other chord books I already own.

To make matters worse, I'll never know what is on the CD that came bound in the book because the one I received was completely shattered. It's more trouble and expense than it is worth to return just to get the CD. If you do decide to buy this book, pick it up at your local store to increase the likelihood of the included CD still being intact and usable.

"In his book GUITAR: Probable Chords, Mark J. Sternal thoroughly and efficiently lists all basic chords, and even their mutants.
