"An easy primer for Hebrew.", What I like about this book is that it's easy.
The reader is shown how to write Hebrew letters as well as the sounds associated with it.

The authors explain the differences between Hebrew and English.

They suggest using flash-cards or a similar memory tool. I am approaching memorization by writing the letters and the associated English sound and frequently referring to those papers.

I recommend "Teach Yourself to Read Hebrew" as a basic starter book.

"Good Introduction to Hebrew Aleph-Bet and sounds", This book really helped me learn the Hebrew Aleph-Bet quickly. I finished the book in a matter of days and could actually read words in Hebrew. Please note that this book is very, very basic. You will need another book after reading this one that covers vocabulary, parts of speech, etc. The one I purchased after I finished this one was Teach Yourself Biblical Hebrew by Sarah Nicholson isbn:0071434623 Teach Yourself Biblical Hebrew Complete Course (Book Only) (Teach Yourself). The book by Sarah Nicholson is good but note that examples of the vowel sounds that are given in it are in a British Accent. Another good resource is http://www.hebrew4christians.com.

"Teach yourself to read Hebrew", This book had me understaning Hebrew in know time at all. It breaks everything down, so that the reader will have no problem following this book. I would say this book is a good buy for those who wish to learn to read this language.

"Teach Yourself to Read Hebrew", I found that the product was delivered with in the time given and the condition of the product was as advertised. The product it self has been beyond my expectations as for as a teaching tool for myself and my family. We have already begun to write as well as read in Hebrew it is helping us to read the bible in its actual language. A long with already learning to read and speak Spanish I can now add to my resume my knowledge Hebrew.

"Teach Yourself to Read Hebrew was an excellent find", This book is marketed as a self-study course for the adult beginner. Having not read or studied Hebrew since I was a teenager (over 25 years ago) the book's 10 lessons had me reading and writing the language as well as when I did for my Bar Mitzvah after three weeks of 3-5 hours of study. I was very pleased about this. I can easily read and write Hebrew again! I am not very "book smart" so I would expect similar or better results with most people who purchase this book and put forth the effort. The reason I purchased this book was as a home study manual to enable my son who is turning 11 to catch up with his Hebrew studies. We live in a rural area that is a long drive from the nearest synagogue. He's been involved in the usual activities that boys are, and Hebrew was not one of them. We have worked through half the book, and I am very excited and pleased with his progress. He will be able to enroll in Hebrew classes at a synagogue this spring and know as much about the language as the kids who started their education two years ago thanks to this wonderful book. Therefore, this book is fabulous for teaching the reading and writing of Hebrew to children too.

"Nothing can compare", I used this course with the tape set and have never had a language course easier than this, or evening coming close. One helpful approach they use is to write english-pronounced sentences with hebrew letters because you know what the words sound like therefore learn the hebrew sounds for the letters.

The tapes for this course are worth gold. Most language tapes try to cram a bunch of material on tape and normally you can not hear the correct pronunciation, these instructors speak very clearly and slow.

I truly haven't had any success with foreign languages in the past, but after this course I really could read(pronounce) hebrew.

"excellent for beginner", I purchased this as a recent convert to Judaism with no previous knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet. I actually ended up taking a short course at our synagogue that used this book, but did use the CD on my own also. With the exception of one or two points I needed clarified, the CD and book were as good as going to class (only without the drive!). Presents things very clearly, in a good order and pace. I feel comfortable reading (obviously, not understanding) basic prayerbook hebrew after going through this set. Highly recommend for beginners.
